The giant's blade sank into the mechanical being, but it didn't give any further. Seeing that it was probably too heavily lodged in for him to remove easily, he saw this as a problem and a hindrance to himself. He heard the weird sounds of something whirling as the arm of the mechanical monster moved. Though he figured he himself was a tough fighter and could take a hit or two, Gideon didn't want to take the chance and allow the machine to get first blood, so the giant released his hold on Jormungandr and quickly tumbled out of the way.
Upon seeing the arm slam into the ground and more or less crack the floor, the sound of the connection as well as the vibration reverberating throughout the large storage area gave Gideon the hint that this mechanical beast had the strength of a demi-god. A chill ran up the gaint's spine as he looked upon the figure; before he saw just a heap of metal, but now he saw Death in metallic armor rather than it's cloak. Normally, Gideon would be worried about losing Jormungandr as what happened the night prior, but now he was only worried for his life. The creaking and whirling of this alien was not just some noise... it was the echoes from beyond the veil... beyond hell.
Gideon took a deep breath. He forced a burp into his throat, sending his hot peppered breath into his mouth, then with a click of his teeth, he ignited the flammable spice and exhaled a stream of fire towards the metallic reaper while walking backwards, trying to gain distance from it. If he can't fight it close combat, then he'll have to find another way to defeat it and judging from it's swing, it wasn't fast. But who better than a giant knows that lack of speed can be compensated with enough strength and endurance?
Hopefully the fire would burn it away or at least slow it down.
