Mashyuu vs the Cult of Gold 30Jm0lM

Episode 1: Welcome to the Jungle

Mashyuu limped into the woods on the opposite side of the plantation he had just barely gotten away from. He looked over his shoulders through the broken red glasses that still sat on his nose. How they hadn't fallen off in his fight, the man would never know. His black shirt was soaked with a mix of his blood and the blood of the men he had managed to beat. Off in the distance he could see Slave Hunters moving over the wall and drawing closer to the wood line. His blue eyes rolled into the back of his head and he let a pained sigh out of his lungs. Stay back... I need a few mintues to recover. Mashyuu thought and moved into the tree line of the forest.

While normally the man wouldn't have cared about how he stepped, in the forest, with hunters coming for him, he decided it was best to simply walk carefully to avoid snapping twigs under him. The young Pirate moved deeper into the lush green forest that almost resembled a jungle thanks to how large the forest actually was coupled with the still intense heat. Further back Mashyuu could hear a small group enter the forest and bark to one another about splitting up to cover a larger portion of the woods. With a pained motion, Mashyuu drew his dagger from the sheath on his wrist and flipped it so the blade was facing downward. First his eyes glanced up to look at the forest and the branches. They were spread out enough that he could fly but it would be a tight fit, requiring him to move slower than he normally would. He felt as if he had barely moved but knew that he had gone at least one hundred meters.

After another ten minutes of walking, Mashyuu stopped and took a deep breath of air to settle his mind and body. He looked straight up and tried to see past the canopy of leaves at the top of the trees only to realize that they didn't seem to stop. "Damn it, I can't even manage to fly straight up to escape. Those hunters are gonna catch up to me and I don't know how to hide like Yuurei.." Mashyuu mumbled. Giving up on the idea of a simple escape, Mashyuu resolved to fight the hunters off even if it meant getting hurt even more. But as he started to look back to the woods in front of him, he heard a low hissing sound and looked at the ground. A rainbow colored snake had slithered up to Mashyuu's leg and was looking up at the winged man with malice in it's eyes. Quickly Mashyuu started to step back, but the snake was faster and lunged at Mashyuu, biting him on the calf. Mashyuu's face twisted with discomfort and pain as his dagger swiped down, removing the head from the serpent.

Mashyuu reached down while lifting his leg, and yanked the severed snakes head off his leg and tossed it aside. Carefully he examined the liquid that dripped out of the wounds on his leg and noticed a rainbow colored venom that swirled as it pooled on the floor. "What the hell is that?" He asked only to realize the world around him started to move in and out like a pair of breath taking lungs. "Oh... Oh no."

The world around Mashyuu seemed to zoom in and out, sparks of colors exploded in his vision while he stumbled forward, desperate to escape the slave hunters that he had been fighting only a few minutes ago. Quaid's impact dial knuckles had done him a great deal of harm and left Mashyuu bruised and broken. He blinked with confusion and wandered aimlessly forward, tripping on branches that had long ago fallen all while he struggled on, leaving a small trail of blood from the various wounds on his arms legs and the one massive one in his side. As he fell to the ground, Mashyuu clutched the dirt and started to crawl forward, taking deeper and deeper breaths of air. Panic had started to settle in on him. He wasn't sure what was happening thanks to the toxin of the snake that had settled into his blood. Mashyuu stopped at a large tree trunk and scooted behind it to press his back to the bark and close his eyes.

He rested his head against the cool trunk of the tree and threw his glasses off his head and let them land in the tall grass to his right. Mashyuu thought about the others in his crew. Between the three fighters, he wasn't sure who among them were actually the strongest but they all trusted him enough to go to Skypiea with him. Mashyuu had a responsibility to keep them safe and so far he was failing. Stay calm, deep and slow breaths.... let the poison pass. It hasn't killed you yet nor has it made you sick. You're just seeing explosions of colors and going through vertigo. Nothing you can't handle... He thought to himself, telling him that there was no need to panic, even though he knew that there were slave hunters on his trail.

His eyes opened for a moment but fell back shut almost instantly. No, no... don't sleep. Tend to the wounds as best as you can. He thought and shrugged off his shirt, yanking the sleeves off to wrap tight around each thigh where he had been bitten and stabbed. It was nothing special but would stem the flow of blood until the wounds clotted. If he could find a fire he could heat up his weapon and sear the wounds shut, just like Harley had done to him when they met. Ughh... never again will I tell Harley to wait in the ship. Could really use her watching my back right now. He thought to himself while he took what remained of his shirt and wrapped it around his torso tight enough to create a makeshift bandage around his ribs. "Damn it... what the hell did he hit me with?" Mashyuu asked while he pulled himself back up. The pain would come and go but his face, side and legs were killing him. He would be stronger for it but not if the slavers found him and brought him back. He could hear the group closing in around him and it was starting to get annoying. If I don't stop them now, they won't stop hunting me down. Besides, the adrenaline will help keep the pain at bay. Mashyuu thought and slipped his dagger back into his sheath only to draw Silver Wind from its harness.

Twisting his neck, Mashyuu cracked the bones in his spine and prepared himself for battle. With a large step of his foot he pivoted to the flank of the tree, weapons gripped firmly in each hand with the long chain dangling in the middle of of his body. Quickly he twisted the weapon around so the chain was holding his make shift bandage in place around his body but still had enough room to get a full range of motion out of each swing he made. With the world zooming in and out through his drugged vision Mashyuu practiced a lean forward and backwards so that he was always in the correct perspective for a fight, leaning back when his vision zoomed, and moving forward when it didn't. His feet planted wide while the sound of careful footsteps drew closer towards the man. Mashyuu knew that he would have to fight one way or the other and weakening Quaid's forces would only serve to help Mashyuu later. No doubt Quinn knew about Mashyuu being back by now but with luck he wouldn't find Mashyuu as a threat thanks to his loss to Quaid.

"I'm here! Come finish the job flunkies!" Mashyuu shouted, then waited for a long moment. The trees before Mashyuu shook with movement and from it seven men with spears in hand, cuffs on their belts, emerged. All the Slave Hunters started to move around Mashyuu, who simply stood in a defensive stance. Mashyuu lifted his weapons and swayed with the way he saw the world. One of the hunters tilted their heads in confusion and glanced at one of his friends. "Uhhh... Is he drunk?" The Slave Hunter asked. Another shook his head side to side and started to laugh. "He was bitten by an Angel Snake. He's either in immense pain or feeling like he can't be hurt... Lets make sure the pain sets in."

The last man to speak hoisted his spear at Mashyuu's left flank and stabbed at the Pirate Captain's head. Mashyuu leaned back at the same time and dodged the blow, bringing his hand scythe up as hard as he could and snapped the tip off the spear, leaving only the wooden shaft of the weapon intact. The man pulled his weapon back and narrowed his eyes at Mashyuu. "...Don't stand here like fools. Kill him!" The hunter shouted loudly.

Mashyuu didn't speak, instead he focused on the fight at hand and leaned forward, driving both ends of his weapons forward and slamming them into the chest of the Hunter who thought Mashyuu was drunk. The man doubled over as Mashyuu slashed his weapons out, forcing the other hunters to step back to evade a wicked slash. Mashyuu quickly pulled his body back and brought his weapons up to use the blades as a shield to stop a strike from two attacks. Leaning back he minimized the impact on his blades and slid the weapons up, letting the tips of the spears move towards Mashyuu's chest. He yanked the weapons down hard and split the wood again, disarming three of the seven men. His face took on a glare of pure anger, causing the three disarmed men to run for their lives, thinking the wounded man had been possessed by a devil. "You can all run, I won't give chase. But if I see you again. You're dead men." Mashyuu growled, still swaying with his vision.

The men took a step back and considered their options then turned tail and ran away from Mashyuu, likely going to report to Quaid about their loss to the winged man and get ready for his return. Once they were out of sight, Mashyuu fell to his rear and steadied his breathing. "Okay... Okay we are fine... Now I just gotta get as far away from Quaid's home as possible and regroup." He told himself while he stood up and turned to walk deeper into the jungle like forest.

Loud tribal drums beat in the distance from Mashyuu position, unfortunately for him, he was being watched the whole time, as this segment of the forest was Holy Ground to the Shandia people. The woman who watched Mashyuu from the distance was a small woman around 4'9, a Shandia priestess by the name of Uryki. Despite her height and childish looks, the woman was nearing her middle twenties, and she'd been revered among her peers as a strong huntress, nicknamed the 'Small Oak'. "Ah... So the boy fights with chains and blades. Intriguing. If he was patched up... He might prove an excellent sparring partner for Rey." Uryki grinned, as she thought to herself. Suspended in an oak tree, ironically, about twenty-feet off the ground, secluded by the broad leaves on the oak trees branches, Uryki dug into her pocket revealing a duck whistle, the sound of which trailed over a thirty meter radius. The drums that were once moving away from Mashyuu were now drawing closer and closer by the passing second. These were the drums of Uryki's hunting buddies, three in number, well four including herself. One whistle blow was signal for 'I found something of interest' and that was all the men needed to lock onto the woman's position, suspended in the trees. BUM BUM BUM, the sound of the parties crashing drums were in hope of attracting wild tigers to catch as game for the feast ahead. However, tonight, it wouldn't be a Tiger they carry back home possibly to their boss, it might be a winged stranger.

At the position twenty-five meters away, the party of three conversed among themselves, as they flew closer. The man beating the drums, a musician warrior by the name of Odin, ceased his banging to acknowledge the sound of incoming footsteps. Activating his Mantra, the man felt the presence of three men drawing closer to their position. "Brother. It seems sister has encountered some intruders. Three of them. They're coming in our direction." Odin reported. "I wonder if it's those foolish slavers from Quaid's faction. He never ceases to disrespect our King!" the woman, Freya shouted in frustration, spitting against the ground at the thought of such a disgrace. "Relax you two. They'll be here in a few moments, let's land and intercept them." Ragnar retorted. As stated, the trio's flight ceased as they landed in the path of the retreating slavers, who fell to their knees at the sight of the large, eight foot tall Shandia's. "Fear not humans. I won't kill you yet. Answer my questions and I shall let you live." Ragnar stated, pausing to dig through his hunters pouch for his smoking pipe, setting it ablaze to intake his daily dose of Sacred Herbs.

"Why do you trample on our Holy Ground?" Ragnar inquired, blowing smoke from his mouth as he spoke. Attempting to gulp, the saliva clump stuck in the man's throat, made speaking almost impossible for the moment. "I-I- I know that... these grounds are forbidden to even those of Skypiea... but our boss sent us after an escaped slave!" one of the hunters shouted in fear. "Ah. So you've been hunting prey on our land, is that it?" Odin asked, with a mischievous grin on his face.  "No! No! We'd never break the agreement between Quaid and your King! Trust me! I beg of you to spare our lives!" one of the slavers shouted. "Reluctantly Bro- I mean, King Rey permitted you fools to hunt on these grounds, as long as it was your 'slaves' and not our game. I care not for Blue Dweller affairs. Out of my sight." Ragnar commanded. The man's words prompted the men to dash away once again through the forest, running as fast as their limbs could've carried them. "Odin. Execute them." Ragnar stated. "Ah. I thought it was weird you let them leave." Odin responded grinning. "My brother doesn't value our traditions as strictly... I. However I do." Ragnar stated. "Anyone who tramples on these grounds that aren't Shandia shall be executed. Winged or Dweller alike." Ragnar concluded.

The Eight Foot, giant bellied man didn't even move an inch to chase the attackers, instead, digging into the hunter's pouch along his waist, he'd removed two halves of a flute. Assembling the flute, he'd flick the base of the flute open, revealing several darts lined within it's pipeline. Pointing the mouth in the slaver's direction, Odin released three darts, each towards the men's thigh, neck and shoulder blade, each making contact. The darts were lined in a deadly toads poison which killed the mightiest animals within minutes, so on humans, it'd be seconds before the slavers died. Turning his attention towards his sister's location, Ragnar commanded his men to take flight once again, flying to her position hoisted in the tree, it'd be a matter of minutes before Mashyuu's aura came within Ragnar's Mantra. Once again, the loud prideful sound of the drums beat majestically.

Episode 2, Pyramid of Gold

The fight had done some good for Mashyuu, thinning out the venom in his system enough that he could move without falling around like a complete drunk. Still he was seeing colors explode in his vision from time to time, making the man go bug eyed to keep his mind in check. The dark haired young man shrugged off what was left of his shirt, revealing the make shift bandaged parts of his body that were covered in sweat. He found a low hanging branch and hung the shirt up enough to look like a torso that was trying to hide in the brush of the forest and not doing well. With it soaked in his blood he hoped that it would throw off his slave hunting foes, at least for a time.

Drums beat in the distance, the echo seemed to surround the Pirate Captain, causing his legs to spread wide as he took up a defensive stance. Panic overtook his eyes as his waist twisted around to look manically at every area he could see. His jaw set firmly while his brow narrowed into a scowl when the sound of beating drums stopped. Okay... Those slavers are dead I think. Mashyuu swallowed a dry lump of spit and snot that had built up in the back of his throat and released a shuddering breath of air, worried that he would be next. His wings flexed and flapped a few times then Mashyuu flew, albeit slowly. It was all to avoid leaving any more foot prints in the wake of what had happened.

Anything he could do to keep the hunters or whatever had just beat those drums and likely killed the hunters off his back was worth it. Foop. Foop. Foop. His wings beat hard, slowly moving him forward. Mashyuu was tired, barely holding things together mentally and physically but continued to press forward for a time. Until the man came across a run down camp site. Mashyuu stopped and touched down in the small, ten or so meter wide area. He scoured the area and searched it frantically for anything that might help him. Nothing major but a few items of note. A portion of flesh that was branded with a slaves mark. Clearly it had been cut out of someone's body. A rusty curved sword that was likely used to cut through brush and to sear the skin shut after cutting a chunk out of it, and a fire starter kit. Mashyuu gathered some dry kindling and used the fire starter to ignite the kindling and a left over log, then placed half the curved blade into the fire.

Slowly he unwrapped his bindings on his ribs, and used that binding for his hand. Gripping it tightly he picked the literal red hot steel up and put a thick stick in his mouth and bit down hard. Lifting his arm to expose the wound he pressed the red hot steel to his cut body, searing the flesh closed. His nose was filled with the scent of his own searing skin that bubbled and seemingly melted shut. Blue eyes filled with water from the pain his body endured and his teeth bit down so hard that he snapped the twig but managed to not scream from the pain. Mashyuu fell to his back and took deep gasps of air while his eyes remained shut. "God damn.... Okay... gotta get my leg." He grumbled while reaching for his leg to do the same. Quickly he sealed his thigh wound closed and waited for a long moment, giving up much needed time to make sure the wound wouldn't reopen right away. Once he had recovered from the pain in his body, Mashyuu picked up the curved blade and started to trudge through the forest again, drawing closer towards the the center of the heavy foliage.

Uryki watched from a distance as the man frantically tried to escape from the area where her brothers and sisters were approaching readily. Reaching into her quiver, she'd jab her sharpened arrow heads into the tree tops, leaving a path for them to follow, as she'd trail the man's advance cautiously. At anytime, she could've certainly attempted to take the man's life but Uryki was always intrigued by the cultures and races outside her close knit Shandia Clan, and it was this fascination that struck her even as a child that saved Mashyuu from having a new enemy. However, orders were orders, and Rey's own was absolute. Anyone who'd drawn close to Golden Shrine, and especially, touch foot on these grounds and not be of Shandia blood, was to be executed on site or tortured for information as to why they intruded. Even the highest ranking members of the tribe in Ragnar weren't allowed to venture into these parts too long, which made all parties involved, extremely anxious about how close this alien was drawing to the Holy Land. Eventually, Mashyuu had stumbled across an old camp site, and his bleeding was becoming worse by the second, and his injuries weren't anything to scoff at either. She'd watch the man from the noblest of tree top, as to what his next action would be next. After rumbling around the camp for a few moments, the spiky black haired male stumbled across a half curved blade, which he was primitively using to close his wounds. After first smell of singeing flesh, the woman's voice echoed from the trees, "Stop this at once!" Uryki shouted. "What are you to if that wound was to get infected!? Do you even know where that weapon came from? The amount of bacteria swarming around it? Billions you nut!? Billions!" Uryki exclaimed, flailing around her hands like a wild thing, or more so an angry mum.

"Drop the weapon. I'll patch you up, outsider. However, promise to leave once I have?" Uryki stated but didn't wait much longer before treating the man's wounds. First up, it was the condition of his wings, they'd look to be have placed through a wringer. Breaking several parts of his wing back into proper location, the woman hummed a soothing melody that worked almost as strong as any anaesthetic.

"Into the Palace... The bird flies. Searching for shelter, a home." Uryki sung, maintaining the angelic harmony all the way through the song's phrasing.

"In search of diamonds and treasure... The mortals lusted for gold. The bird simply laughed... 'How foolish of them?' To trespass in heaven's walls." Uryki continued to sing, as she'd buzzed around like a worker bee, correcting Mashyuu's wings, now digging in her bag for a roll of bandages.

"The bird found life. A orchid for love. The mortals found the city of gold. Alas was no exit, and all that was left. Was a fruit ordained in Devil's remorse." Uryki said, ending the beautiful, yet ominous hymn with a smile of approval of handy work on Mashyuu's wings.

"Now for these nasty... burns." Uyrki stated, pouting her cheeks in disappointment of the man's decision to seal his wounds this way. Rummaging through her bag, she'd reveal a small jar, which contained an ointment made from several herbs and shrubs found all across Skypiea. Opening the jar, the smell of the ointments earthy aroma filled the nostrils of all present. Rubbing the ointment against the man's wounds, his ribcage and the wounds across his thigh, the ointment went to work effectively immediately.

Covering the wounds with another set of bandages, Uyrki was content with her work. "Much better. Take these. These shrubs are good for neutralising pain. It'll allow you to walk. Drink this. It's a steroid that'll let you keep moving for a bit. I'm afraid my siblings aren't as kind as I." Uyrki informed, handing over the shrubs and hand made elixir. "The next time I see you... We'll be enemies. Leave this place. If you continue on this route... You'll end up like the mortals in our ancestors songs. Or slaughtered by brother Ragnar" Uyrki said, before flying off in the direction of the drums that now filled the area with intense energy.

OCC: All Moderate wounds are now Minor.

Mashyuu nearly yelped when a small voice shouted out for him to stop doing what he was doing and not risk infecting his wounds. Mashyuu's eyes went wide, thinking it was another of Quinn's thugs coming for the winged man. "Patch me up?... How do I know I can trust you?" Mashyuu called out, always being the cautious type. Still he was wounded and didn't know much about anything, just what he had seen with Harley patching people up in the past. He sighed and dropped the weapon, allowing the woman to have her way with the black haired pirate.

"That song is really... oddly beautiful. Thank you for helping me. I'm just trying to get out of here and away from those slavers." Mashyuu explained, heeding the words of the song and the small woman. But he didn't fail to notice the song talking about gold and a devil's fruit. That fruit might be worth looking into if I can get this girl's help. Mashyuu thought to himself. He took the drink and herbs as directed and smiled wide, feeling more like himself than he had in the past. With the wounds now healed the man was ready to get moving again even though the woman had flown off, Mashyuu owed her his thanks.

The drums beat hard, filling Mashyuu's ears. The Pirate Captain glared and looked back over his shoulder. "Ragnar... Lets dance. Nobody is going to slaughter me. But I'll let you all live." Mashyuu growled under his breath. He took a moment to look around the mostly cleared out camp and started to wrap a foot of chain around each of his fore arms to act as shields if needed while leaving nearly a foot of chain between each arm and six inches of chain on each end of his hand scythes so he could swing them if need be.

Quickly Mashyuu flew up as high as he could, nearly forty feet off the ground and beat his wings hard enough to maintain his position. He looked down and waited for whoever was beating the drums so he could get a good look at them and drop down on any straggler in the group...

OCC: You mashyuu heard the drums, so he'd be paralyse and the wound would be Tertiary versus. Claiming hit unless stated otherwise by actions.

As the sound of the enlarged drum-stick banging against the drum set made the very leaves of the trees tremble as the men, climbing around thirty feet into the air, shrouded by the tops of the trees, enclosed on their sister's aura with an every growing Mantra. Deer in headlights, it was a common phenomena found when game becomes entangled in the blaring glare of approaching light signatures. The wounded Winged Man, who after being spared by Uyrki's mercy, didn't take the smarter route to flee, no, he'd remained at his former position, even climbing higher into the air, taking the Druid's blessing, as an all encompassing miracle but that would surely be a mistake, he'd come to forget for the rest of his life. Enslaved, Mashyuu's body would be frozen by the drums sound, as his Willpower wouldn't be enough to fight against it's effects, and he'd only notice this mistake once he'd climbed to his established forty feet mark, it'd be then that the sound of the enticing drums would cause his heart to accelerate, so fast that the shock literally frozen him in the moment. As his cardiac danced along at a samba like pace, Mashyuu would start hyperventilating a bit. Still being able to maintain his wings flapping, because this kind of paralysis didn't play fully on the muscles, it played strictly with the mind. Sadly, there he'd be, after being caught in the range of the loud pulsating drums, frozen, forty feet off the ground, in clear sight for the approaching wolves that waited in the wing to save their sister.

Freya had remained at the hind of the pack, while Odin and Ragnar advanced, increased their speed after now being in flight for about ten minutes or so, adjusting their speeds to higher tempo's was child's play for the Shandia Champions, Raganr arriving first, as Odin lagged behind lazily, panting heavily from being out of shape, but still maintaining with chore like conviction the drum's sound. Now, suspended in air, with no where to run, Mashyuu now stood before the eight foot Winged Shandia, Ragnar, who'd now reached for his spear, during his flight's advance. It was a sight to see, his position from twenty-five meters was cleared with ease, once his top speed had come into focus, using the Wing Techniques of his ancestor's carrying his feathery travel. Resting his spear on Mashyuu's shoulder, the distance separating them being the length from his spear's blade, to the bottom of his thirty-two inch staff, the space between the two men couldn't help to bring a smile to Ragnar's face, the perfect range for close range combat genius to shine. "Outsider. I take from those wings... You are not one of our brothers." Ragnar stated, smiling menacingly as his cold artic eyes made contact with Mashyuu's pupils. Ragnar knew from the shape of his wings alone he'd been an outsider, trespassing on Sacred Land, a rule that even the governing body of Angel Island followed. Retracting his spear five inches, entering his hand into an arched angle, Ragnar would attempt to thrust his spear through the man's heart, ending his life in one fatal blow. "Wait! Brother! Stop it!" Uryki shouted, taking to the skies to confront her brother.

Ceasing his movement, the man's grin turned into an enraged frown. "Uryki! You go missing from the village for a week now! We come to look for you... Now your giving me orders... Have you lost your mind?" Ragnar inquired, spatting out in anger at this sister request. "This man was being chased by those slavers... The same ones who've been raiding our village as of late! He's the victim here, not our enemy!" Uryki shouted. "Fool. Did you forget what the Elder Rey prophesied!? It'd be our own brothers who sell us off to the Quinn merchant. We have evidence now after today's tribunal! It'll be no more treaty's and talks of peace. If we must commit genocide for the sake of our people... I will eradicate the leader of the Quaid or whatever it's called. Then I shall have the heads of every winged who served to trade our people!" Ragnar shouted. "Brother..." Odin murmured, afraid of his brother once his temper had reached these heights. Drawing her bow and arrow from her strap, she'd aim an arrowhead towards her brother's head, lining up the correct angle and spacing for a shot. "I see. You'd throw away our traditions for an outsider... As per usual. Uryki Soga! As First in Command of the Shandia People... I herby expel you from our village. First... falling in love with a Bottom Dweller... and now this. Unacceptable. Freya. Take her out." Ragnar commanded. With no hesitation, as a tear fell from the woman's eye,
Frey's arrow impaled Uryki's chest cage, causing her to fall from the sky.

Unable to break the paralysis of Odin's drums, Mashyuu was helpless. Had he only ran away, as instructed, the woman's life would've not been endangered. However, greed begets consequence.  Ragnar attached his Flame Dial to his spear's head, combining to with a mechanism that trigger it to activate upon impact. "Obiwana.... It's an interesting spear. It's laced in a poison that's resistant to heat and once it becomes heated, it's toxicity can cause it's enemies to hallucinate. Five days the say... before they die. As the most painful memories come rushing back to them. It's surely hell. I've been struck by this spear before... I can tell you it's truth." Ragnar declared smiling. Adding a slight spin to the spear, Ragnar jammed the spear's tip into the man's ribcage, missing his major organs by mere centimetres. The poisoned seeped into his system, as the flame dial slight charred his insides, engulfing the man in flames. "Next time... In your next life... When you hear the mighty drums of our people... Run." Ragnar said grinning. Withdrawing his spear, Mashyuu's blood stained the air, "Let's go. I've had enough of this. It's time to inform Brother of Our findings." Ragnar shouted, resting his spear on his shoulder, as he'd float back towards the direction of the village. Ragnar's attack approached at Tertiary Strength, but it's true retaining value was the poison that attack organs in a weird manner, starting with shutting down of the five major senses. Only left to hallucinate with the sins of ones past, again, it was truly hell. It all started with the base of a drum. As Uryki's body touched the ground, if Mashyuu did survive the attack, he'd fall below. In the case that escape was possible, and his attack had missed it's mark, Mashyuu would'v gotten serious, abandoning his spear and placing an Impact Dial, to the heroes heart.

Blue eyes went wide, pupils dilated and quaked as Mashyuu's body became paralyzed with some sort of odd sensation. He had no control over his body and sweat started to roll down his face and body. What the hell is this? That snakes venom? No.. If it was the venom I would have been crippled by this long ago. What is... The drums! FUCK! Mashyuu thought to himself while his wings flapped, somehow keeping him air borne if just barely. The grip on Mashyuu's weapons remained tight and firm, holding the twin scythes in place with bent elbows. His gaze focused on the group flying towards the helpless Pirate and an intense blaze burned in his face.

Every fiber of Mashyuu's body screamed for him to lash out and attack the man with the spear, question the group as to why they were hunting him but not even his teeth had the power to grind together, nor his eyes the power to blink. I'll kill this guy when I get my hands on him... I swear to the Gods. Mashyuu promised himself until the small voice of Uryki stopped the man with the spear from attacking Mashyuu's heart. Brother? This savage is her brother? Mashyuu watched as the altercation happened and Uryki was struck down with one mighty blow from an arrow.

If Mashyuu could scream, he would have. If he could have dove down to catch the woman who saved him, he would have. Instead all he could do was watch as an elder brother gave the order to kill a young sister. What kind of monster was Mashyuu dealing with? Was this man any better than Quinn? No. He was just as bad, if not worse. For all of Quinn's faults, he had never known the Slaver to mistreat his family. Then, then the heated spear ripped into Mashyuu's flesh. Mashyuu's face twisted with pain as the spear tip ripped into his rib cage and heat scorched his organs. Even crippled, Mashyuu's eyes rolled into the back of his head and his body tensed up hard.

When the spear was removed from his body and the group flew off, Mashyuu drifted down to the ground and collapsed to his hands and knees. "Calm... Calm. Stay calm. Help her, then hope she can help you." He muttered to himself. Mashyuu, you left me with him.. Angelica's voice echoed in Mashyuu's head. He drew a deep breath and steadied his mind. How long it would last he had no idea. But he knew the woman had herbs and medicine on her.

"Okay, Harley would make sure she had something to press on the wound with... then remove the arrow." He muttered to himself. Quickly he what remained of his shirt off and balled it up. Then one hand pressed firmly on her shoulder to keep the young woman in place. Next his hand went to work into her bag and pulled what was left of the ointment she had used on him. Mashyuu gripped the arrow tight and twisted it until he could feel where the arrow had made it groove inside her and he pulled quickly, removing the bloody arrow from her chest. A moment later the ointment was rubbed into the wound, then the cloth shirt pressed against her would to help stem the bleeding.

With a quick yank from the bag at Uryki's side, Mashyuu wrapped the last of her bandages around the woman's chest. "Uryki, I need you to stay with me now. Come on. You saved me, let me save you." Mashyuu muttered in a worried tone. His head tilted to the left while he continued to apply pressure to the wound. "Shut up!" Mashyuu snapped at the voices of his mother and father, names he forgot long ago, shouting at him, telling the winged man it was his fault they died. That without him being alive they would have never had been put in the position that they were in when they died. "I can beat this... If he did it, I can too!" He shouted, determined to fight through the pain in his ribs and the drug in his body.

Tears fell from Freya's eyes as she had to shoot down her own sister. "Brother!" Freya shouted, after retreating under Ragnar's commands about five meters away. "What is it now Freya?" Ragnar asked, continuing his advanced forward with Odin at his side. "I request permission to go and retrieve sister's body." Freya inquired. "Body? Why are you talking as if you killed her? I know you missed her vitals on purpose. Freya. Don't anger me any longer. If something like that was able to kill Uryki, then she wasn't our sister in the first place!" Ragnar shouted. "This is why Brother Rey was able to become King! This need of yours to stick to tradition is outdated! So what if she loved a human! Even you in your youth was once in love too with that Shandia girl, Angelica-" Freya's words were interrupted by the force of Ragnar's spear stopping inches before impact against the woman's nose bridge.

"If you want to go save that traitor... Then so be it. I'll exile you both. However, don't you ever mention that bitches name in my prescience again. Odin. We're leaving." Ragnar concluded, leaving Freya suspending in mid-air choked up in tears. "Your words though well spoken... we're crude and uninformed." Odin murmured to his sister before flying off. Meanwhile on the ground, Uyrki breathing became more erratic as Mashyuu tried to apply first-aid to her wound, coughing up blood, as her body was now entering into a feverish state, the woman's words severed as light for the poisoned Mashyuu. "Listen to the sound of my voice... Boy. What your seeing and feeling are affects of my brother's poisonous spear... Obiwana..." Uryki stated, as her panicked breathing continued. "You mustn't... loose hope. Nothing your hearing now is real... just fragments of your past." Uryki said before passing out. Rushing towards her sister's aid, Freya landed, breaking Uryki from the winged man's arms.

Breaking both ends of the arrow, making sure to just leave the shaft in the centre, she'd quickly began to patch up her sister, applying proper bandaids from her pouch and rubbing ointment, similar to the one used on Mashyuu's early against her wounds. Quickly reaching for her bow and arrow, she'd aimed an arrow towards Mashyuu's direction, "I should kill you now... outsider. If I can at least do that... I'll be able to return home." Freya stated calmly, extending her shooting right arm backwards in attempts to fire her arrow. However, Uryki's hand clutching at her sister's foot, stopped the action, removing the tension from the trained warrior. "Stop it... He's already been injured enough..." Uryki stated. Suddenly, rain began to descend from the skies, and with all the wound present between the two, Freya lifted both Mashyuu and Uryki on her shoulders, flying towards the Golden Pyramid ahead to take shelter. Humming the tune of the song that Urkyi was singing earlier, the woman rested both Mashyuu and Uryki down about three meters into the entrance of the Pyramid's walls.

"To think... The very pyramid we'd been trained our whole life to avoid... We're now taking shelter inside of. The irony of life." Freya stated. The poison was now rapidly expanding through Mashyuu's body. Digging through her pouch, she'd taken out a small vial, containing a purple liquid and force fed it down the flailing Winged Man's throat. "Relax! Without this antidote... Your death is certain." Freya shouted. Next, she'd then begin to patch up the wound from the spear, only to notice the man's scars from earlier wounds which opened the woman's eyes in astonishment. "How... Did you suffer such horrible wounds child?" Freya inquired, as her hands danced around Mashyuu's body, fixing the seemingly iron man's body.

" Into the Palace... The bird flies. Searching for shelter, a home.

In search of diamonds and treasure... The mortals lusted for gold. The bird simply laughed... 'How foolish of them?' To trespass in heaven's walls.

The bird found life. A orchid for love. The mortals found the city of gold. Alas was no exit, and all that was left. Was a fruit ordained in Devil's remorse."
Freya sung, as she prayed for Mashyuu's recovery.

"The antidote will only cure the fatal elements of the poison. It's up to your will to escape the illusions." Freya thought, continuing into the second verse of the song.

"The fruit consumed... enticed the man... Who lost his lover's own.

The bird rejoice in merriment, for freedom woven prone.

Alas Alas... A fool's gold... The City Ordained With Souls.

Down below the temples walls... A monster sleeps alone."
Freya concluded.

Frantically Mashyuu fought to keep his savior alive but the fact that she was breaking into a fever was enough of a sign to show that Mashyuu really didn't have a clue as to what he was doing. Not only that but the constant stopping to hold his own head and fight quick flashes of faces from his mind were preventing him from keeping the blood from flowing out of the young girls open wounds. "Gahhh Damn it all!" He shouted while yanking at his own dark locks only to be bowled over by a flying woman who stole Uryki from Mashyuu's grasp.

With a heavy thud Mashyuu laid on the ground, eyes rolling into the back of his head while Uryki's words echoed in his mind. It's all a lie... it's all a lie. It's all a lie. He thought to himself, struggling to keep from going insane in that moment. Since landing on Skypiea he had only gotten his body attacked and beaten by everyone who he came in contact with. While it was making him stronger over all, it was also a sign that he wasn't as ready as he thought he was.

"You think you're good enough to be our Captain? I'm already leagues ahead of you in every way. I'm only on your crew so you can take the fall if we get caught." In Mashyuu's mind, Yuurei appeared, mocking the man for his short comings, revealing his own self doubt. "Not much of a Pirate or a warrior. Do you even have a plan after leaving this place? I could take you anywhere and you wouldn't have a clue how to get around if I stopped sailing." Dai's voice echoed, as if his entire crew had started to gang up on Mashyuu. "Pathetic really. You can't even apply proper first aid to a simple arrow wound. It missed all the vital stuff. Why didn't you push the arrow all the way through instead of yanking it out? You did more harm than good. She had a chance to live up until that moment. All you're good for is being used as a wall, and one that can't stand up long at that." Harley finished the mocking all while Freya aimed her bow at Mashyuu to kill the man.

He had no idea that he was once again saved by Uryki, nor did he feel when he was hoisted up and flown to the golden pyramid and set inside it's walls. He only came to at the feel of someone forcing a liquid down his throat. "Ahak! What was that!!? Are you trying to.. oh. Umm hello." Mashyuu blushed at the feeling of a woman he had never actually spoken to patching up a spear wound on his chest and asking about his other scars. Mashyuu offered her a friendly smile and cleared his throat to speak as long as his mind would let him.

"Oh these... Lets see. First you're not much older than me, so the child thing is a bit odd. But... This one and this one are gun shots, knife, sword stab, spiked chain... " Mashyuu started to list off all the ways he had been wounded on Jaya in the short time he was there, signaling that he had been fighting since the day he started his career as a pirate, and ended his tour with a point at a wound left by Angelica right next to his heart, but didn't say what it was from. "W- Thank you for helping me. Is Uryki going to b-" Mashyuu's jaw dropped as he once again became trapped in his own mind.

Mashyuu found himself chained up by the arms, legs and wings inside of a ship, Angelica striding closer and closer towards him, tears streaking her cheeks while her blade dug into his chest, leaving the wound that he last pointed at. Not how it happened in actuality but the point was clear, his memories were killing him. As the blade pushed through Mashyuu's chest and back to dig at the wall behind him, Angelica's lips pressed to his just long enough to leave a lingering taste on his tongue. Mashyuu struggled in his chains, trying to free himself from the woman and her blade before she could leave another wound. His blue eyes shot open wide and changed to a hue of red before a force of wind, or maybe will power pushed Angelica away from the man, knocking her across the dark room he found himself in as the chains fell from his body and dropped the Pirate. "I'm sorry you were hurt. But you weren't strong enough to find your path in life and stick to it. That's not my fault. I know where I'm going. I know why others follow me. It's not because I'm stronger than them, or smarter, or more skilled. It's because I offer a rational mind. I have the drive to do what needs to be done, help others do what they couldn't do alone. For as guarded as I am, I trust the people I surround myself with. I'll bring down Quinn, his slavers, and free this place for you. So nobody else has to endure what we did. Then I'll carve my name into the histories of the world, become the greatest Pirate to ever sail the seas... And I'll do it with a smile on my face, because I'll be free. No chains, or poison can keep me bound." Mashyuu spoke.

Even in his half passed out state, Mashyuu spoke out loud so that Freya and Uryki could hear him, the strange force of power echoing off him in the real world as well but not to nearly the same effect. As he finished speaking his body drew a deep breath and released it, his red eyes returning to their natural color of blue and he came back to his senses. "....Umm. Thanks. Who are you and where are we?" Mashyuu asked, looking around the golden temple he found himself in.

"I can see why Sister saved you... You look like him." Freya stated abruptly to the man's question, moving the conversation at her own pace, deciding whether she should answer the question truthfully or not. Invading Mashyuu's personal space, the woman placed her forehead against his own, "This place is called Adam's Keep. I believe the bottom Dwellers refer to it as the City of Gold." Freya explained. Springing her position so close to Mashyuu's face, the woman began to dance around in mid-air, likening the flaps of her wings to that of an haphazard waltz. "There's a song we've been told as children to keep us away from this place. A tale that talks of a Demon who slumbers in the pinnacle of these walls. Intriguing ain't it?" Freya declared. "It's said that when the Father of all Winged, Adam descended from the Moon. He created this keep to store all of his most precious heirlooms." Freya concluded. "I hope you're accepting responsibility for us. I'll take nothing less than being your second wife after Uryki of course. We've been disgraced by even stepping foot into these grounds, you'll do well to make us proud off-spring-" Freya's words were interrupted by an arrow flying from the bow of the now flustered and conscious Uryki. "Y-Y-Y-ou idiot! What are you babbling on about!?" Uryki shouted. Tilting her head to the side in confusion, "I don't understand the question. I'm simply declaring the hierarchy of our marriage." Freya said to herself, nodding in approval of her own words.

Odin and Ragnar arrived back to the Shandia Village after their long voyage, they reported to the main tent in the centre of the village, the place where the feared Chief, and their older brother, Rey lived. Puffing on the contents of his mahogany pipe, shrouded in the bodies of several winged women, Rey laid on his side, propping up his head with the palm of his right hand, as he'd listened to his brothers report. "Basically. Freya and Uryki have betrayed our clan? Is that what I'm getting here, Ragnar?" Rey inquired, smirking sinisterly. "I believe they're under the influence of the outsider... A winged boy..." Ragnar stated. "We've returned here to gain permission to trespass on Adam's Keep to retrieve them brother!" Odin shouted. "She was always your favourite huh? Ragnar. Jiro Jiro..." Rey bursted out into laughter about the leverage he had in this situation. "Fine. I'll let you have permission to trespass on Adam's Keep and I'll even pardon Uryki and Freya's actions... Under two conditions... Of course." Rey stated grinning. "I'm listening." Ragnar said, biting his bottom lip to suppress his frustration in the situation, using enough force to draw blood. Suddenly, the skies overcast and rain began to pelt down upon the tents. Raising his finger to gesture the number one, "The outsider must be delivered alive before us... to testify of his sins. Your only permitted to capture him alive." Rey stated. "Of course! We'd have it no other-" Odin's squawk was interrupted by Rey's next alarming reveal. "If his testimony is deemed unsatisfactory... Odin... Freya... Uryki... and all of your followers Ragnar will be sentenced to be slaves in our contract with the outsider Quinn. Of course that includes the boy as well!" Rey exclaimed in immense glee. "That's madness!" Odin shouted, breaking his humble demeanour and slamming his hands against the matted dirt floor, leaving a sizeable mark. "If that happens then Ragnar's claim as the next heir after you will be lost. Our people will be without a future King!" Odin shouted. "Didn't you know... With Ragnar gone... I can finally begin on my true excavation of Adam's Keep. The human's say that inside those walls lie the powers of a 'Demon'. Once I have it, I'll be immortal. Then... I'll be last ruler of the Shandia Tribe... for all eternity. Sounds crazy doesn't it? Fail... and it'll be a reality." Rey shouted.

"And what if we're found to be in the right?" Ragnar said sternly. "Then you and the boy will engage in Trial by Death Ritual. The winner will walk out with their lives." Rey declared. "Tch... Either way..." Odin thought. "I still get the outcome I desire." Rey thought, smiling widely as Ragnar stormed from the the tent.

Mashyuu's cheeks pulled up in a frustrated look of confusion. "Who do I look like other than me?" He asked but soon went silent when he found the beautiful woman placing her forehead against his. Aside from Harley exploring his body to make sure he wasn't dying from time to time, the only other woman to touch him had been trying to kill him. This was a new development and it caused a blush to spread over his body. He could feel his heart beating faster and his lungs growing tight. What the hell is this feeling? Is this the drug taking effect again? He wondered silently, lost in the woman's eyes as he continued to look at her without blinking.

"Adams Keep? Oh I know those stories! My parents used to tell me about them. Said that they were once Guardian's of the land." Mashyuu whispered in response. A smile crept over his face until she assumed he would take "responsibility" for the sisters. His body pulled back a bit and his stance changed from his normally relaxed and lazy posture to one that was tight, half cocked back and concerned. "M-Married!? What are you talking about? I don't know the first thing about you two ladies. And who wants to get married to the man married to their sister? Besides... your sister is a little young right? Maybe you should let her grow up." Mashyuu tried to reason. Mashyuu grabbed Freya's shoulders and stepped to the right with her, avoiding an arrow that might have been aimed to miss the pair but just barely.

"Uryki! I'm glad you're up and alive! I'm sorry you got hurt because of me. I promise I'll make it up to you. But for now, if what your sister said is true. We are stepping on sacred ground and we need to be quick about being here. But... I'm curious. If my parents really did guard this place before they were turned to slaves... Does that mean I'm allowed to be here? If so then you're my guests and allowed to be here too." Mashyuu stated matter of factly. "We can talk about Marriage later. Besides, we are already here. Why not see if the legends are true?" Mashyuu quickly changed the subject and offered the women a half smile that really showed how uncomfortable he was about the entire situation. "I'll take point I suppose, Uryki, you follow behind me with your bow ready. Your sister... I don't think I ever got your name. You bring up the rear in case we get followed." Mashyuu ordered and put his arm back to make sure that Uryki knew to stay a little back in case of danger.

Mashyuu let his blue eyes move side to side for a moment, taking in the contents of the mostly empty room they were in. A large golden door stood to Mashyuu's right, no knobs seemed to be there to open it, making the man assume they simply had to be pushed. Carefully he drew his two weapons from the loops on his hips and wrapped a portion of the chains on his forearms then stalked over to the door and slowly pushed it open, with no idea of what was awaiting the trio on the other side...

Breaking out into laughter Freya flapped her wings frantically in amusement, "Kid!? Bwahaha young? That old bat! No way!" Freya shouted. "Freya! How rude! I'm only 26! Thank you very much!" Uryki shouted in frustration, pouting out her cheeks similar to that of a child. "Besides! It's only these baggy clothes! Underneath I have the body of a woman!" Uryki shouted, only to add further to her own embarrassment. "Wow sis. That's pretty bold of ya' to admit. Though, I'm only 17 and I best you in most feminine things." Freya said, sticking out her tongue to tease the woman. If Freya wasn't truthful by nature, an outsider would've surely found lies in those words with the simple 3ft' difference in height between the sparsely aged sisters. Stuck in the comedy duo, Freya and Uryki's mood were broken by Mashyuu's words about his parent's guarding this pyramid. "Boy... What's your Father's name?" Uryki inquired with a more serious tone. At this stage, Mashyuu was already moving at his own pace, barking orders off at Uryki and Freya, who'd decided to go along with whimsical commands. However, what was truly odd was why the man wouldn't fly but walk towards the door, and as he opened the door, he'd stumble across a large room, about fifty by fifth meters wide, and sitting in the centre of the room was an middle aged winged gentleman, wielding what appeared to be a cane but once he'd drawn the blade from the cane's wooden sheath, the man stood to his feet, standing at around 9ft tall, flapping his black wings with pride.

"Hello. Little birdies." the man said ominously, as in the distance a cascading staircase hung about twenty-five meters behind him. "Welcome to Adam's Keep. My name is Cain. The entrance for the next level is... a blood sacrifice. Who shall pay the toll?" Cain inquired grinning.

Meanwhile in the Shandia Village, Ragnar's personal army, including Odin prepare for a raid on Adam's Keep. "Your playing right into his hands brother... Adam's Keep... That's where those who've been infected with Moon Disease are sent. They loose their humanity slowly... First ability to digest food... Then voices in their heads and finally-" Odin stated only to be interrupted by his brother's retort. "Cannibalism. I understand it's dangerous. Those who have been infected by the disease are forced to serve the ruler of Adam's Keep. And the Treasure he guards. The first of his kind... A Three Eyed Winged." Ragnar reported.

Stopping at the door, Mashyuu squinted and looked down at his feet. His head tilted to the side and he almost turned to ask if the two women were screwing with him. There was no way the tiny one was older than Mashyuu and the giant one was younger. His lip pulled up in annoyance and he shook the thought out of his head. "Quiet... I can't hear if anything's moving behind the door." Mashyuu pushed his shoulder against the door and shoved the golden portal open, almost stumbling inside in the process.

Mashyuu looked at the man with the cane first, but didn't say anything to him. Instead he let his gaze drift around the large room then the steps leading up. As the man introduced himself, Mashyuu bowed his head in respect and cracked his neck when the blade was drawn. "Greetings Cain. My name is Mashyuu Ishi, son of Raziel and Rain Ishi. Former guardians of this temple. There is no need to draw blood, it would only mean more death and there is a trail of death behind me. Please step aside and let my friends and myself pass." The winged man pleaded. He gripped his weapons tightly and glanced over his shoulder just so that the ladies could hear him. "Cover me, don't get in too close if you can help it until we know what we are dealing with here." Mashyuu suggested to the pair, feeling like he needed to keep these two women safe. As far as he was concerned they were now a part of his crew. At least for now.

Slowly he took a series of steps forward until he was only ten feet away from the middle aged man. "I won't ask again for you to back down, people will be coming who mean you harm. If you let me pass, I'll help you defend against them when they show up. I'll help keep this temple safe. But if you attack me or my friends, I won't hold back in my attacks." He offered while taking on a defensive stance just in case he couldn't get through to the man.
