Lu Dahn Ricchi
A rogue desert wind that was textured with the night's sea breeze, swept Nanohana's port. Lu Dahn had arrived on Sandy Island early this day and just made it into Nanohana and onto the Enforcer, his government issued vessel for attaining the rank of Commodore. Onboard the Enforcer were five men that made up 5/7ths of his unit. Forde, Orson, Mica, Lawson, and Hyde. All that were missing were Captain Hannibal Uchis, Lu Dahn's right hand to be and Linedwell Rainrex, an Ensign he had also handpicked to be apart of his unit. They both ranked over the five aforementioned petty officers, so he hoped when they arrived, they'd quickly realize they had a sense of responsibility onboard Lu Dahn's ship. Their formal recruitment orders would read.
You are receiving these orders from Commodore Lu Dahn Ricchi, your new superior officer. I've specifically chosen you to be apart of my unit. By the time you get these orders, I will already be en route to Nanohana for my first campaign as a Commodore in the Navy. You along with few others will play a pivotal role in my ranking amongst other Marines who not only share my rank, but rank above me. I'd love to divulge all the information I have to you through these orders, but it is best shared in person. Please report to Sandy Island's Nanohana port on xxMonth xx Day at 20:30. There you will see our Unit's vessel the Enforcer. We will be the sole World Government ship in port till the next day, so be sure to arrive on time.
- Commodore Ricchi
He stood on the deck of his ship against the railing. Nanohana was lit beautifully and he wished to indulge in a bit of the nightlife. Since he was technically on leave, it's what he should be doing, but he'd work now so he could play later. Checking his watch he saw it was only 7:45pm, the duo still had forty-five minutes to arrive. While he wished for them to be early, because their mission was time sensitive, 8:30pm still put gave them plenty of time to prepare as he actually didn't need them here till 10:00pm.

While he waited for both Linedwell and Hannibal, he had his petty officers patrolling Nanohana. Crime never rested, so Justice wouldn't either. With an impatient sigh he pressed away from the railing of the ship and turned his back to the city. Admiring what his hard-work had gotten him, he smiled and envisioned what blessings were still to come once this mission was all said and done. "Benedici il nostro viaggio." He grabbed the charm that hung around his neck, put it to his lips and gave it a single kiss before tucking it in his shirt. It was a gift from his deceased grandfather, a former Rear Admiral in the navy. Even prior to the man's death Lu Dahn cherished it deeply. So now that he's no longer with the Ricchi family, Lu Dahn considers it to be his greatest treasure next to his great great grandfather, Dawn Ricchi's, pinky ring.

Looking up at the heaven's for a moment he went from thinking of his family to the mission at hand. This was the beginning of his legacy as a Ricchi. When he was dead and gone, this is where his biography would pick up and become an epic tale that'd inspire the Ricchi's that came after him. Before leaving he had Orson and Forde, the only two of the petty officers he could consistently remember, set up a single table and three chairs for Lu Dahn and the others. Lu Dahn took this moment to sit on the deck of the Enforcer in one of these chairs in wait for the remainder of his unit. He was honestly eager to meet them and see what they were like in person as opposed to on paper. He had already made his assumptions, but he didn't want to rely too heavily on them as people were never as they are written on paper. He of all people would know that.

The Sea Train slowly crept into a screeching halt to the station on Nanohana. Hannibal didn't own a vessel and was forced to jump from Sea Train to Sea Train to arrive on Sandy Island. The experience was tiring and due to not trusting most he had to stay awake most of his journey. Bags, under his eyes, and bloodshot eyes being prominent. As he rose from his seat he'd yawn, "I kinda wish I didn't get picked for this." Is what Hannibal would tiredly mumble to himself as he seized his two bags. He had his duffel bag in the compartment above his seat. That'll be the first bag he grab due to the contents within it. His Outfit and Mask forced upon him before leaving Baltigo, along with instructions. The instructions were within a language that was not commonly practiced. His second bag had was a rolling backpack. The contents within it where just his everyday clothing and other necessities. He traveled light because he he simply didn't want to lug around so much. Placing the duffle bag on top of the rolling-backpack was his second course of action.

"Seven fifty-seven. " Hannibal would whisper to himself as he'd look at the clock within his box cart before exiting. If there wasn't a problem back on Drum the Sea Train wouldn't have arrived hours late. Hannibal was just glad that he had finally arrived to Sandy Island; the only thing left is to find his new Commanding Officer. There was supposed to be only one World Government Vessel at the port. 'Even with it being one Marine ship....doesn't make it that much easier. A lot of these ships are impressive, and dwarfing.' Hannibal would think to himself as he'd begin to hunt for the ship.

There were many people walking at this time. It easily able to spot natives to this area and those just visiting due to their attire. Hannibal himself was wearing a oxford blue and black stripped suit. A black dress undershirt and no tie, and finally black dress slip on shoes. He didn't think he dressed upped that much, but he knew he was looking nice. Hannibal wasn't a self absorbed and conceited guy though, not by any means. He did though know his worth. Only thing that did, kinda, throw his outfit off was the bandage he had wrapped around his head. It wasn't from a wound but just something he put in place to make sure he hid the fact that he belonged to the Three eye tribe. As he, at times, forgets to close his third eye. He still thought someone conspired against him due to this within the World Government. A reason why he was strangely demoted for something others would, at max, get a warning for. He didn't know who it was. All he knew was that it was someone extremely high up within the World Government. Not a lot to go on at all; he was determined to get more information sooner or later. He doubted his new Commanding Officer knew, but you never know. Sizing the man up and figuring out his character was of the first thing of things Hannibal wanted to accomplish open them meeting up.

As Hannibal had walked to paid attention to his beautiful surroundings, also to the people within it. He did not spot one Marine during his time walking at all. That wasn't surprising but rather unsettling. Hannibal doubted Sandy Island would be as lawless as Baltigo and understood that the Government here might not need to have a large Marine presence. But, due to his time on Baltigo his thoughts on how much Marine presence should be present on a Island has changed. In order for people to truly be protected they needed the World Government and the Marines to have a heavy influence on that Island. Control was needed to ensure people were safe.

Hannibal would stop in his tracks. He had arrived to the ship and eyed it, as it wasn't impressive. He wouldn't say that to his Commanding Officer though, as Hannibal didn't even have a ship. But, from the name he just assumed it was something that could, if need be, send chills down the spins of those that saw it. He make his way over to the boarding ladder and began to head up. He hoped that he'd receive a friendly welcome, even though he didn't have anything that showed he was a marine. As his Marine coat had been lost before he left Baltigo. If asked he could and would reveal his rank and name. He didn't take more than a few seconds to get up the boarding ladder and onto the deck of the ship. He'd spot a man sitting alone at a table, and didn't know who he was. "Oi, do you know where Commodore Le....La..LU! Ricchi is?" Hannibal would ask the guy. He had gotten ride of the assignment papers he was given and had, somehow, forgotten the name of his new Commanding Officer.

Linedwell Rainrex

"This is Nanohana Station. Please check your overhead luggage rack for any personal belongings."

These words were accompanied by a gentle knock on Linedwell's cabin door, helping to notify him - if the PA system's message wasn't clear enough - that it was time to disembark. Finally, after a voyage that seemed to go on forever, they'd reached their destination - Sandy Island. The young Ensign let out a slight sigh before closing the book he'd been using to pass the time and getting up into a standing position. As he turned slightly and began to grab a duffel bag that he'd brought with him, he couldn't help but think about the letter he'd received during his journey here. A Marine courier managed to deliver the letter after boarding the train during one of the prior stops. Linedwell had left Marineford so suddenly that the courier didn't have enough time to deliver the letter. Admirably, this courier took his job seriously, and decided to take another Sea Train in order to intercept this one - and luckily, it worked. The letter explained that he'd now be serving under a newly promoted Commodore by the name of "Lu Dahn Ricchi", something that Mr. Miyagi had informed him about before he left. The letter also gave Linedwell the impression that this Mr. Ricchi was quite the character. He apparently had only just received his promotion, and in no time at all, he was already heading a campaign of his own. From this alone, it was quite easy to tell that this was a man of ambition. Knowing little else about him, Linedwell had already approved of his superior. The young Ensign was also someone that valued success and recognition above all else; working under someone who held those same values would obviously give Linedwell the opportunities he needed to advance as well - as long as he was bold enough to take advantage.

There was a lot to take in when thinking about just how eventful his time on Sandy Island could possibly be. Outside of his new assignment, Linedwell had also made his way here as a result of the hint he'd been given by his Sensei back on Marineford.

"An ancient place, huh?

The Rainrex heir laughed quietly to himself as he thought back to his conversation with the old man; the strap of his duffel bag slinging over his shoulder as he began stood behind a line of others that were also exiting the vessel. Though he completely trusted the old man wouldn't lead him astray, he still had trouble coming to grips with the idea that "monsters" populated the place in which Mr. Miyagi mentioned. The man was old, after all, could it have been possible that he was simply mis-remembering or over exaggerating in order to keep Linedwell on his guard? Regardless, he'd figure out if the truth behind it all soon enough. Right now he needed to focus on meeting up with his new unit. The letter he'd received specified that he was to meet them at a certain time, lest he miss the ship and find himself reprimanded. The idea of punishment fueling him, Linedwell put a bit of pep into his step and began to make his way through the beautiful city of Nanohana to the port.

The distance between the train station and the port wasn't too immense, and with a few directions from polite civilians that were out enjoying the nightlife that the city had to offer, Linedwell managed to find his way to the port.

"Eight-fifteen..."

As the young Marine made his way down the port, he'd begun to scan the multiple ships that occupied the port. Not exactly because he couldn't differentiate an obvious Marine vessel between merchant ship and civilian ships, but because he simply felt the need to view many of them with awe. The craftsmanship that many of these vessels held were extremely impressive. He could only imagine owning one of these ships at some point in the future, as his current pay could barely hold him over. Soon enough, he came across the ship he'd been looking for; luckily, he'd arrived with time to spare. Making his way onto the vessel via the boarding ladder that connected the ship to the docks, Linedwell now found himself on the deck and in the presence of two individuals. Both men in question were seated at a table in the middle of the deck. Linedwell could only surmise that one of these men was his new superior, but he had no idea which man it was. The young Marine soon perked up and began standing at attention, his right arm sharply moving upwards and into a salute.

"Good evening, Commodore Ricchi. Ensign Linedwell Rainrex reporting for duty, sir."

Linedwell could feel himself internally cringe as he introduced himself, not so much because he felt that he'd made a mistake, but because he felt the act itself was entirely too degrading. He'd lived his life for so long under the beck and call of the Claret family, that he he hated nothing more than to pay such respect to anyone else. However, this was the life he'd chosen after leaving his servitude. If he was going to succeed and soak up everything that the Marines and the World Government could teach and bestow upon him, he'd need to humble himself. Actions like these were merely a part of the game, and Linedwell would continue to play it until he found himself being the recipient of such salutes.

Lu Dahn Ricchi
Mission Briefing:
Lu Dahn was sitting at the table with one leg crossed on top of the other, but when his first officer boarded the ship, he scooted back out the chair, stood up, and walked over to greet him.
"Oi, do you know where Commodore Le....La..LU! Ricchi is?"
Lu Dahn simply smiled at the man even though the words irritated him greatly. He'd shoulder the disrespect for the time being, but probably end up relinquishing the stirred up nerves out on the man through petty grunt work or random task.

Approaching the man, he'd offer a hand to him, but not before saying. "Lu Dahn. Similar to Udon . . . like the Noodles. You can just call me Commodore Ricchi however." First impressions were important, especially when it came to his first installment of slaves officers. Regardless if the handshake was met or not, Lu Dahn would motion with his hands like a host would to waft their guest to their seats. "Take a seat. We're waiting on one more person Captain Uchis." Lu Dahn would take his seat and return to his cross legged position, then dig in the interior pocket of his coat. In there were three folded copies of the mission they'd be embarking on. "WHile we wait, you can begin to read over the mission document. I'm not to fond on waisting time, so please try to stay busy if you can." He gave his Captain another smile as he slid the folded paper across the small circle table to him.

Checking his watch again, he saw it was 8:21pm. His leg bounced with anxiety maybe twice or three times, before he caught it before it found its rhythm. There were still nine more minutes, but the Ensign was cutting it awfully close for Lu Dahn's taste and sanity. "So how was your trip Captain Uchis? Hope the SeaTrain ride wasn't too rough." Just as he finished saying this, the ladder to board the ship let out a cry from the strain of someone's weight. Lu Dahn had to consciously make his motions lax and calm to avoid looking skittish in front of his new recruits. So looking over smoothly, he saw his second pick from his recruitment orders, Linedwell Rainrex. What a sharp young man he was, salute and all. Lu Dahn's brows rose, as his interest was piqued. Perhaps this young man was actually the Captain and the one lacking the manners or proper pronunciation of his Commanding Officers name was the Ensign. It'd make sense, but Lu Dahn didn't dwell on it.

Lu Dahn would give the boy the same energy he gave Captain Uchis after he scooted out away from the table, stood and walked over to him. "A salute is well respected, but unnecessary from here on out. Ok?" This is where the hand would be extended to the young boy.  "Formalities aside, it is a pleasure to meet you Ensign Rainrex. Please take a seat and we will get right down to business." As he'd walk over to the table with the Ensign, he'd allot an appropriate amount of time to Captain Uchis to introduce himself to the Ensign before Lu Dahn took the liberty upon himself. If the Captain didn't make an introduction, Lu Dahn would do it for him. "This is Captain Uchis, also a new recruit. I've already given him the mission briefing, so he's a bit invested into all the details of it." Lu Dahn would sit down and take the last two copies of the mission document out his interior jacket pocket. One for himself and one for the Ensign. Sliding it to the youth, he'd unfold his own copy and begin skimming to refresh his mind on what needed to be done.

"I'll give you each a few minutes to read over the document on your own before I start talking. Would either of you like some water?" He knew he was probably coming off as quite the social butterfly and very vulnerable and non-professional, but he was doing it all purposely. He liked the two that he had chosen and wanted them to feel at home in this Unit, because he knew how heart-wrenching it could be to be gone for long. That didn't mean he'd be easy on them in the least bit, however.

Hannibal was embarrassed to say the least. He didn't realize the man he just carelessly addressed was in fact his his new Commanding Officer. And to top if off he butchered the Man's name. It did though seem that he wasn't offended, but that could just be a fake smile he gave. Hannibal didn't know if he offending him or but but he had to make sure that he didn't do such a thing again. He didn't know what type of man Commodore Ricchi was. Hannibal wouldn't ignore Ricchi tying to shake his head and grasp the Man's hand; and he would shake it like any normal person would do. Hannibal would then let go and be directed to one of the vacant seats. He'd place his luggage behind the chair he choose to sit at.

"Okay, I've been eager to see what it is we will be doing." Hannibal would say in response to the copy of the mission document being given to him. He would begin to read over it all, but he'd stop. He didn't expect to be assigned to something like this.  'Fool's Gold.' Hannibal would think to himself. This was the first time he had heard of such a thing, but he wasn't surprised. If anything he as disappointed in how his people were forced to be branded a calamity. Even to this day Hannibal himself has to keep his race hidden from everyone. swallowing his disgust he continue to read on. Upon him finish Commodore Ricchi would ask him a question. Hannibal would lift his head from the documents and look into the eyes of Ricchi.

"It was fine, Sir. " Hannibal would say in response. He didn't particularly care for the multiple trips he had to take to get here. But, since he was here now the trips didn't matter anymore. His mind, at this moment, was just making sure he could complete this task without his personal feelings clouding his judgement during it. Go back to reading the documents he didn't understand why they would be giving them to the World Government, they didn't belong to them. If anything they should be given back to those belonging to the Three Eyed Tribe. He wasn't, at this point, thinking of taking to himself but he didn't think anyone other than someone belonging to his race should have them. It was only right. He would not voice this opinion at this moment to Commodore Ricchi, as it was not appropriate.

The sound of someone coming up the boarding ladder would be heard, 'So that is the Ensign.' Hannibal would think to himself as he watched the young Marine. The first thing Hannibal noticed was how short the fellow Marine was. Hannibal already was taller than Commodore Ricchi by about two feet. Hannibal though was almost twice the size of the Ensign. "Nice to meet you, I am Captain Uchis." Hannibal would say to make sure he introduced himself. He wait before the Ensign would make it over to the table before slightly getting out of his seat and outstretching his hand so that he could shake hands with the Ensign. Hannibal wouldn't feel any type of way if the Ensign didn't shake his hand or not, and would sit back in his chair upon it happening or not.

Hannibal had already finished reading over the documents so he sat there in silence, as he wanted to know what Commodore Uchis was about to say. These two were going to be his comrades for a long time, hopefully. At this moment he didn't trust either of them, as that is just who he was. But, he was certain that soon he would be able to trust them with his life. But, if it happen to be that he couldn't do that he would stick to his duties. As he feels that how he acted on Baltigo would not be accepted at all by Commodore Ricchi.

Almost immediately after presenting his salute, one of the males began to scoot from under the table before standing and making his way towards Linedwell's position. The Ensign remained at attention until the blue haired male extended a hand and began to explain that formalities wouldn't be necessary. Though he hadn't formally introduced himself as Commodore Ricchi, Linedwell could only surmise that these were words that could only belong to a superior. A salute was a mandatory act of military courtesy; something deeply rooted in tradition as it signified respect and camaraderie. Though asking someone to stray from this action was something that went against custom, Linedwell knew better than to challenge a superior when it came to a matter such as this one. The obvious conclusion was that Commodore Ricchi simply wanted to encourage a casual atmosphere within his unit, or at least put a new arrival at ease.

Deciding to go with the flow, Linedwell extended his hand and returned the intentioned handshake.

"Yes, sir. A pleasure to meet you as well."

After this introduction, Linedwell followed his new superior back over to the table in which both men were once seated. Commodore Ricchi once again took his seat whilst a fellow by the name of "Captain Uchis" introduced himself to the Ensign and offered his hand in greeting as well.

"Nice to meet you as well, Sir.

Linedwell shook the man's hand as he spoke, and made sure to remain as courteous as he could. Though not as highly ranked as the Commodore, this man was also a superior deserving of the respect that his station granted him. With the formalities out of the way, Linedwell took a seat at the table as instructed by the Commodore and would proceed to read the pamphlet he'd been given.

Back when chaos was just beginning to spread with the introduction of the calamities, Three Eyed Tribesmen faced extreme prejudice. Some suffered in government sanctioned interment camps, while some suffered a grimmer fate and were auctioned off into a world of slavery. Stripped of all their metallic valuables, gold teeth, wedding bands, necklaces, trinkets, etc, they were melted down into a metallic compound now known as Fool's Gold. The quality of the product is horrible due to all the different purities of gold and silver being melded into one, but it's given a gold finish to make it look like something valuable. Besides that, once the Three Eyed Tribesmen began to gain equality, enslavement of their race was prohibited and majority of the slave rings that hosted Three Eyed Tribesmen were busted and dispersed. This Fool's Gold remained in circulation and though in actuality it is best used as a doorstop, the history and sentimental value it holds makes it priceless. A single 1kg brick of Fool's Gold goes for roughly 100,000,000 Beli on the Black Market, but it is an outlawed form of currency and most won't even except it as payment because it's near impossible to be turned into legally spendable Beli or assets.

Last month, we caught wind of a man that operates under the guise of Moona pushing a 10kg shipment of Fool's Gold through the Sandy Island. It's only 10 bricks, but each brick is extremely valuable and must be located and taken into the custody of the World Government. There are 7 individuals forecasted to be involved with this contraband and all with dealings related to these 10kgs of Fool's Gold are to be considered extremely dangerous criminals with Black Market ties. In a perfect world they'd be apprehended and brought to justice the proper way, but it's understood that that is not always possible, especially when dealing with people considered to be extremely dangerous.

Your job is to secure all of these bricks and safely escort them to a World Government stronghold, so they can be shipped out to headquarters.

Though only a figurative newborn if his age was to be referenced against how ancient the world truly was, there were many things within it that Linedwell simply wasn't aware of or privy to. Though he'd heard reference of "Three Eyed Tribesman" before, he'd never been educated in the magnitude of barbarity that they'd endured as a people. Sadly, the only information he'd ever been given about these Tribesman involved their dealings in the occult and the idea that these people brought calamity wherever they ended up. The young Marine wasn't sure if this held any truth, but he knew that no people deserved the sort of fate that they'd endured. Linedwell could only assume that the World Government's true ambition behind the recovery "Fool's Gold" was fueled more by the idea of rewriting a dark history; attempting to cover up involvement in a tragedy, more so than attempting to right the wrongs of the past.

With the reading of the missing briefing completed, Linedwell politely turned down Commodore Ricchi's offer of a glass of water. Though the Ensign was no stranger to death - or killing for that matter - savagery of such a scale was still able to unnerve him. He'd all but lost his thirst and appetite.

Lu Dahn Ricchi
While Lu Dahn wasn't completely at ease so to speak, he felt a certain level of comfort around his two officers. As Linedwell continued to read, Captain Uchis already finishing, Lu Dahn shamelessly scanned the boy in a nonchalant manner. Smiling softly, he then looked over to Captain Uchis and gave him the same treatment. "I like the tailoring of your suit. It fits a man of your build very well. I'd imagine it's a bit troubling to find something of the sort." A bonafide compliment to the man's garments while the Ensign was busy reading the briefing.

Once Linedwell was finished and no one opted for water, Lu Dahn would begin his piece. "So as you have read, we're on the look out for ten kilograms or "bricks" of this Fool's Gold. There is another Marine Unit lead by Rear Admiral Briggs working on this situation as well. I've been told they've already secured one kilogram, so another nine remain in circulation." Lu Dahn stood from his chair. He always got rustled up when he got a chance at a monologue, for speaking whether publicly or to a small audience like now was something he was very passionate about. He'd walk back and forth, yet stay parallel to the duo at the table."Despite another Marine Unit being on the job as well, we're not working as a conglomerate. Briggs' own wishes. Perhaps to test how far one of his previous Ensigns has come since my promotions. . . . Nonetheless, while the World Government will be satisfied upon all ten kilograms getting shipped back to Marineford, I will not be sated as your superior unless six of these ten are retrieved by us." He'd stop his pacing here and turn to face his body towards the two at the table and look at them with a refined glare that expressed how deeply he felt about coming out on top. "In hindsight, I should have opened with this, but such is life.- He combed a few forlorn strands of hair that had fallen in front of his face back in place with his fingers. "If you are to operate in my Unit, it is important that you understand the both the significance of and differences between the goals the World Government sets for us and the goals we set for ourselves. You each struck me as individuals that hold themselves accountable for their own actions and that have levels of diligence that imply they'll produce quality work. So I have high standards for you both out the gate. As part of my Unit, you are apart of me and I'll treat you both as I'd treat myself, with upmost respect and your best interest in mind." He sighed and got ahold of himself, finally realizing how much he was speaking. "However, should either of you threaten my standing or reputation as a Marine, you lose the privilege to be regarded as an extension of myself." He sat back down, crossed his legs, and cupped his hands on his highest sitting knee. "As I lamented before though. I trust the character of you both and doubt that'll be an issue. So back on track." He gave the signature gentle smile of his as if he hadn't just spoke a hole in the heads of these people he just met.

Digging in his coat pocket once more, he pulled out a manilla folder. Digging into this folder he pulled out worn out looking wanted posters of seven individuals.

Spoiler:

Shuffling through the profiles, he pinched three of them together then handed them to Captain Uchis. "You are in charge of surveilling Gold Tooth Roukishi, Needle Threader Shishi, and Ghostface Mukuro. While it is not confirmed these are the people that will be coming in contact with the man distributing the Fool's Gold, there is a 99% chance it is them." He shuffled through a few more, pinched two together then handed them to Ensign Rainrex. "You're responsible for Luso Feather Foot and Matziyah Faults. Both fairly dangerous in their own rights, so I'll also be dispatching our five petty officers, Orson, Forde, Mica, Lawson, and Hyde, with you. I trust you'll guide them well and gain some leadership experience by being entrusted with this role. They're good Marines like yourself, so don't be afraid to trust them with task you think are too difficult for your average petty officer." Pulling out the last two profiles, he laid the manilla folder down on the ground beside his chair. "I'll be handling Snake Tongue Alejandro and Meruem Blackheart. Along with Roukishi, they strike me as the most volatile of the bunch should they get their hands on the Fool's Gold so I've entrusted them to me and Captain Uchis. I'll give you a moment to read over the profiles and ask any questions you may have." He looked at his watch and saw it was nearing 9:00pm. The five petty officers should be returning pretty soon by now so the whole Unit could be together and everyone could be introduced.

Once again Hannibal failed to show the proper respect to his new superior. It was truly shameful and something he doesn't try to do. Even saying it was just nervousness couldn't be sad, as he wasn't. He did notice his faults and would make a effort to correct them next time out. He just hoped that his first impression didn't stain the Man, Ricchi, perception of Hannibal.

"Thank." Hannibal would say at the compliment he was given. "Searching for a tailor isn't the hard part, getting a reasonable price is. " Hannibal would add. Before he'd be able to think of a compliment to give back the short Ensign seemed to have finished with going over the mission documents. Lu Dahn seemed to also notice this and would begin to speak to them. He had a voice that grabbed your attention and Hannibal couldn't look away from him as he spoke. Hannibal had been under the command of many before, but not under someone like Lu Dahn. He was different. Hannibal had never been in the presence of a Marine like Lu Dahn. And his shameful acts earlier began to stung even more so. Hannibal, with both hand in his lap, would begin to clinch his right fist. He got angrier and angrier with himself the more he started to admire Lu Dahn. Hannibal would calm himself after Lu Dahn would sit back down and reveal some more papers. He'd remove his right hand from under the table and grab the three wanted posters handed to him

You are in charge of surveilling Gold Tooth Roukishi, Needle Threader Shishi, and Ghostface Mukuro. While it is not confirmed these are the people that will be coming in contact with the man distributing the Fool's Gold, there is a 99% chance it is them

As Lu Dahn spoke Hannibal look at him in the eyes, and once he finished he would look over the three wanted posters. He hadn't heard of the last two, but the first he had. On his time on Baltigo Gold Tooth Roukishi was someone well known, but Hannibal hadn't crossed paths with him. He wasn't all that surprised that someone like him would, well could, be involved in something like this. As Lu Dahn spoke Hannibal payed close attention. Hannibal, once Lu Dahn was done talking, would read over the profiles of the three he was after. He'd place them down on the table and look over to Lu Dahn.

"Shishi, was discharged due to be a part of the Three Eyed Tribe. I ask....how do you personally feel about that Commodore Luchi? Not, the discharge per se. But, if you are against or for that Tribe being in the Marines?" Hannibal would ask him. He didn't speak as if he had anything to hide. It was just a serious question that someone that was for or against would ask another. Hannibal's personal stance was that they, along with every other Tribe, should be allowed to have the same rights Humans receive. As no Tribe was better than another. He was well aware that what he wanted was not what others wanted, and didn't plan to forcefully change their minds. At this time he wasn't that type of guy at all. And at this moment he wanted to know what type of guy Lu Dahn was. Was his decree that everyone under him would a extension of himself only apply to Humans, or were their stipulations. And the answers or the failure to answer the question would impact not only if Hannibal would stay within this Unit, but if he would stick around with the Marines as long as he intended. Why he was willing and ready to up and leave was because of the words Lu Dahn said.

Hannibal didn't ask the Ensign because his opinion didn't matter right now. If he was a Superior then the question would've been extended to them both instead of just to Lu Dahn. He would ask him if they seemed to form some type of bound down the line. Well, if Lu Dahn produced a answer suitable to Hannibal's standards. Hannibal debated on if he should reveal who he truly was or not. The pros and cons of doing something like this being arranged in his mind right after asking his question.

With the reading of the mission pamphlet completed, Commodore Ricchi began to go a bit further into things that the pamphlet seemed to leave out. Though it mentioned that there were ten kilograms of this "Fools Gold" in circulation, it hadn't mentioned that only nine of the ten were actually left in circulation due to the actions of a fellow Marine unit. His words following this information gave the impression that they were to be in competition with this unit, even though this "competition" wasn't explicitly stated. However, Commodore Ricchi's statement of not being "sated" unless more than half of the credit was personally attributed to his unit was more than enough evidence.

Throughout the rest of his speech explaining the expectations he held for his new recruits, as well as his views when it came to those within his unit, Linedwell couldn't help but admire his flair for public speaking. The man was a wordsmith, capable of gracefully putting words together in a way that could easily ensnare anyone within listening range. However, Linedwell's admiration for this talent was due to the fact that his superior was more than capable of using this ability in quite a manipulative manner. Though his words came across as elegant, the core of these words and phrases illustrated that this was a man that valued and prioritized his accomplishments and standing more than anything else. By beautifully stressing accomplishment, accountability, as well as faith in the abilities of those within his employ, their successes would ultimately reflect upon their superior; which was his primary concern.

With his speech coming to a close, Commodore Ricchi soon reached into his coat pocket before he pulling out a manila folder. After shuffling through a few papers inside, the Commodore began to hand sheets of paper to each of them - handing three sheets to Captain Uchis before two sheets were handed to the Ensign. Whilst this occurred, the Commodore had already begun explaining the purpose of these sheets; as they were being tasked with carrying out surveillance upon those described in the wanted posters they'd been handed. While listening to his superior's words, Linedwell began to read through the descriptions of the two he'd been tasked with.

A Revolutionary and a Pirate. Linedwell couldn't help but wonder if this Revolutionary was merely working alone, or if the the Revolutionary Army had their own stake within this plot. With the floor being opened up for questions, he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Before the Ensign could speak, however, Captain Uchis decided to take a turn first. The question seemed to be a pointed one in nature - not necessarily one with the intention of tricking him or giving him something hard to answer, but to give the Captain an idea of who Commodore Ricchi was on a moral and ethical level. In all honesty, Linedwell was curious about how their superior would answer the question as well.

Lu Dahn Ricchi
Lu Dahn waited quietly while both Captain Uchis and Ensign Rainrex read over their targets. What came next was unexpected, but not something that caught him completely off guard. Being a model he was trained to answer on the fly questions and he was also presented with the perfect opportunity to buy himself time while he spun a good answer together. "Please refer to me as Commodore "Ricchi" or simply Commodore, Captain." He stared Hannibal in the eyes as he spoke to him, ensuring the man understood the distance he was attempting to keep him at. Lu Dahn had no one he considered as a friend, not his own willing, just that no one seemed worthy to be rewarded in such a way. For that reason Lu Dahn never took kindly to nicknames, even when they were simple jests. Though he had respect for the Captain, he was still below Lu Dahn and for the Captain to try to drag him down to the which level he resided on was a distasteful act.

They were just meeting for the first time though, so while it'd be remembered, it wouldn't be held against him. "As for your second question." He feline like gaze scrolled calmly over to Linedwell's to meet his razor like eyes. It seemed the Ensign was also interested in his stance on the subject or perhaps on how he'd answer the query. He'd smile gently at the boy, before locking his eyes back on Captain Uchis and answering with a natural expression. "I have no qualms with Three-Eyed Tribesmen. I personally haven't suffered at the hands of the "plague"- He air quoted with his hands then brought them back to his knee. -they brought to society and personally admire the perseverance and professionalism those who have occupied political offices have displayed. I couldn't imagine having my family subjected to such unwarranted amounts of hate and having the self-control to fight back with such unclouded efficiency." Much of what he was saying was unnecessary as the question was answered with the first sentence, but he had to go on to kiss ass to further show what a righteous person he was. He knew exactly what he was doing when he did it as well, but for some reason he couldn't help but feel like he and Captain Uchis would have a cat and mouse kind of relationship. He didn't know where Ensign Rainrex fit into this puzzle, but in Lu Dahn's head he had a hunch Captain Uchis would potentially become the rival he always wanted.

The thought of it alone made the hairs on his neck raise and he would move a hand to rub them down. As he did so he'd lighten up a bit, realizing that for a moment he had become tense when thinking about the potential impact his Captain could have on his life as a Marine. It was exciting. As he'd rub his neck he'd smile and do something that may seem a bit out of character for the Commodore. "I apologize for talking so much. I honestly can't get enough of my own voice sometimes, haha. Did that quell your curiosity Captain?" Lu Dahn could always feel when people got taken aback when he played Type-B personality card. He wouldn't let the term of Type-B last for more than this moment though, as he'd immediately get back into his Type-Absolute mode that would never apologize for how he was even when wrong. His hands would have returned to their position on his highest knee as soon as he was back to himself. And though he'd be back to his natural self, being the gentlemen he was, he'd of course let his company speak and ask any more questions they had before just blabbing away again.

In the back of his mind he couldn't wait to see more of Captain Uchis in action. It was definitely a foreign feeling, but one he wasn't totally opposed to.

He didn’t expect that him addressing Lu Damn by his first name would be a problem. He did though understand the distance he wanted to keep. We are the extension of him but not his equals. Some would take offense upon realizing this. Hannibal though would not be that kind of person as that wasn’t how he was. He knew and understood that Lu dahn was his superior and should be addressed appropriately. This mistake will not happen again. Hannibal would address them all by their rank only. “My apologies, Commodore.”

Hannibal wouldn’t say anything else after that. As Lu Dahn had begun to answer his questions directly after. He listened intently to what his superior had to say. Keeping up a poker face to not show how he felt about what Lu Dahn said. Not missing a single word at all. The Man seemed to like to give large responses, which was good. As a short response would’ve prompted Hannibal to excuse himself for this Man’s unit. That wasn’t the case at all and Hannibal was glad about that, but he held back his smile. After Lu Dahn finished he had gained the trust of Hannibal. That wasn’t something usually done, rare in fact. Hannibal had been swayed by how Lu Dahn spoke and carried himself. Though he gained Hannibal’s trust that didn’t mean he’d blindly follow this Man. He didn’t trust him that much. Hannibal would still stick to his ideals and go with them first if put at a cross road.

“I don’t mind the long responses.” Hannibal would say once Lu Dahn finished. “. I agree completely with what you said and have no more further questions, at this time.” Hannibal would say. He’d look over at the Ensign. For some reason he feels as if the guy would also have some questions about the assignments or one about Lu Dahn. Hannibal wouldn’t be apposed to getting a question from either of them.

Linedwell waited patiently for the exchange between the two to end. The first few sentences of response from the Commodore were more than enough for the Ensign to get an idea of where he stood when it came to those that belonged to the tribe of ill repute, as well as giving a view glimpses of his personality - even though his initial response to the Captain's callous use of his name struck more of a chord. Instead, Linedwell was now more interested in how the Captain would react to the reaction. Commodore Ricchi made it quite apparent that he was a professional through and through, and he wondered how someone as laid back and casual, as the Captain appeared to be, would perform under this sort of leadership.

The Captain appeared to be completely satisfied with all of the responses given by the Commodore; even going so far as to speak on fully agreeing with his viewpoints. Linedwell initially thought there would have been more to the rest of the conversation than this, but once the Captain stated that he no longer had any other questions and then turned his gaze in his direction, he realized attention was slowly turning to him. He'd been relatively quiet this entire time; simply listening and soaking up as much information about the two men as he could. Observation and study had always been two things that Linedwell largely excelled in, as they seemed to always give him advantages in dealing with any situation he could run up against. Things were no different even in a social setting such as this one. Learning as much as he could about the people he was forced to interact with gave him many advantages when it came to future interactions with these same people. There were many qualities that one could learn about a person that would largely appear to be insignificant to a layman, yet, all of this knowledge was hugely beneficial to those made privy of the importance.

Taking the Captain's cue, Linedwell took this opportunity to speak - his eyes on the Commodore.

"My question is actually in relation to the Revolutionaries that seems to be mixed up in all of this. This "Fools Gold" holds the potential of providing a huge amount of resources to the Revolutionary cause, and it's hard for me to see that two of these criminals are indeed Revolutionaries and believe it's a coincidence. Is there any intel on whether or not the Revolutionary Army itself is involved with any of this, or if these two are merely working out of their own self-interest?"

Lu Dahn Ricchi
Lu Dahn smiled at Captain Uchis. He was glad the man was satisfied with his answer, as Lu Dahn had thought it was quite the response himself. They were all true words though. Those people had suffered a great deal and expressing his recognition for their professionalism was the least he could do. With Hannibal's curiosity quelled, both Lu Dahn and Hannibal turned their attention to Ensign Rainrex.

Lu Dahn liked both his picks so far. He hadn't even bee in their company for more than an hour, so perhaps it was just the fact that he got to talk a lot and his opinion was being asked for. If one couldn't tell by now, Lu Dahn liked to feel like things were about him and he liked it when people valued his opinion on things. He also liked to talk and hear his own voice, so being asked for his stance regarding certain matters went hand in hand with this.

The question Ensign Rainrex had asked however, had a bit of a different flavor to it. When he took a moment to ponder on it, he found he didn't have the knowledge to give the Ensign an answer that'd meet his inquisitiveness as an equal. Lu Dahn would of course love to be as much help as possible and wouldn't purposely mislead his officers, for their performance reflected his leadership. He could of course answer the simple end portion of the query, however. "If there is any intel on the matter of their interest in the Fool's Gold aligning with their own goals of that of the Revolution, I can say neither yes or no. I myself don't know, but wouldn't doubt if someone in a higher seat did know. So as far as our mission is concerned, there is no information on that. Additionally, as far as our mission is concerned, that's irrelevant, but I like your ability to look at the bigger picture, because I noticed correlating ties as well." His attention strayed for a moment as the boarding ladder groaned from weight being applied to it. He checked his watch and assumed it was the petty officers, before even seeing the person boarding get on the ship. Should it not be the small troop of five officers, now would be a good opportunity to see what the Captain and Ensign could do. So either way, Lu Dahn would calmly continue to speak, but still be on his guard. "What we can do as a Unit to prevent this from becoming an issue later is making it a priority to apprehend these two, so we can question them and see if they are acting on orders or according to their own dogma. We can then cross whatever bridges we need to from there." Once he was finished, he'd see the petty officers had lined up parallel to the border of the ship once they had boarded. Each of them holding a firm salute.

Lu Dahn was happy to see they had all returned safely and he'd welcome them back warmly, but not before wrapping things up with the Ensign. "Sorry to cut your time short Ensign Rainrex. I hope that gave you a bit of insight on the situation." Standing up and walking in the direction of the petty officers, he'd stop once he was an equal distance between them and Captain Uchis and Ensign Rainrex. "From my left to my right, we have, Mica, Forde, Hyde, Lawson, and Orson. Then seated closest to me you have Ensign Rainrex and Captain Uchis. I feel a wave of emotion coming over me seeing my whole Unit together at the same time. I hope you all will be able to feel it one day." With a smile on his face he looked at his troop of petty officers and his Ensign and Captain duo, to believe that this was just the beginning was crazy because it felt like so much more for him.

He wouldn't reside in his feelings for much longer though, at least not visibly. His face would revert back to its natural lax state and he'd speak to everyone with an authoritative tone as he paced calmly to a position in front of them all. "We set out for our first campaign in three days time. Make necessary preparations in the meantime. Until then all units are on standby, but will be regularly dispatched into Nanohana on patrol. Get acquainted with one another while you can. Forde and Orson, show Captain Uchis and Ensign Rainrex to their rooms. The rest of you please store the table and chairs, then clean the deck when you're finished. If anyone needs me, I'll be in my quarters. Ciao.~" He started strong and stern, but his last sentence carried a friendly chime. After he said his piece, he gave both parties a nod of acknowledgment that caused the petty officers to lower their salutes and get on with their duties.

The Ensigns was bright and the question he asked for a good one. It was no wonder Lucci personally request him. Hannibal would listen to everything that was said. Introducing himself to the Petty Officers when his name was said and also giving them a welcoming smile. Hannibal would be the first to stand up from his seat, so that he could follow the Petty Officers Forde and Orson. He didn't want to admit it but he wanted to put his stuff up, and go out. He wanted a drink. It'd be cool to drink with them sometime in the future, but he needed to find the good spots himself first. He did not plan on drinking so much that he'd end up being a drunken' fool, but just to get a taste as he likes to call it.

Once, he'd make it to his quarters with his belongings he'd leave them there. "If Commodore Ricchi needs me, let him know I am in town. Since he didn't assign me on first patrol I don't have anything to do until then. Or well until our three days are up." Hannibal would say as he'd take the way he took down here to head back up topside. He didn't take anytime to wait for anyone, as he wanted to go out alone. If he wasn't stopped in anyway he'd make it off of the ship and would head down the dock. He didn't want to check a place at the port but rather deeper in the city. So, he'd head inward. He had a good eye for places so it wouldn't be hard to find one. And even if he couldn't spot one good he had time to try a few before having to head back to the Ship.

Hannibal felt overall good about his new unit, even if he wasn't the one in charge of it. Due to his rank he was currently the second highest ranked officer. So, he was the second in command for right now. He hoped that they would be able to push passed the ranks together and go higher and higher.

Linedwell felt that his question had been answered adequately by his superior. Mainly, what the Ensign truly wanted to know was if they'd have to expect relation from a larger Revolutionary forces whilst in the middle of their assignments. If the Revolutionary army had a vested interest in this "Fools Gold" he also wondered if they would have put resources into protecting their operatives. They wouldn't necessarily have to worry about much of this if these Revolutionaries were merely working on their own accord though. Simply put, the Commodore's answer meant that they merely needed to be on guard at all times; expecting the unexpected. The solution proposed by the Commodore in order to find the depths of involvement was a sound one, and Linedwell made sure to voice his agreement with a slight nod as the Commodore spoke.

With all of the questions addressed and now out of the way, it seemed as though it was time to begin wrapping things up. The Commodore soon stood up from his seated position and began to make his way towards the Marines that had recently arrived moments before. Introductions soon began and it was made readily apparent that these five Marines were the ones that Linedwell would soon find himself working with in the very near future. Taking Hannibal's action as a cue, Linedwell stood up from his seated position as well while nodding politely in the direction of the petty officers.

With the introductions now out of the way, and the Commodore now making his leave, Linedwell quickly began to walk with Captain Uchis in order to follow Orson and Forde after picking up his bags. Overall, it had been a very long day, and Linedwell wanted nothing more than to relax a bit before jumping right back into the swing of things. He was well aware of how much work he'd be doing, and with this new assignment came a renewed vigor. This would be his chance to shine under new command, and an assignment such as this one was the perfect time in which to do so. There was much riding on all of this, and if they performed as they were supposed to there would be enough glory to go around for all of them.
