Mashyuu limped into the woods on the opposite side of the plantation he had just barely gotten away from. He looked over his shoulders through the broken red glasses that still sat on his nose. How they hadn't fallen off in his fight, the man would never know. His black shirt was soaked with a mix of his blood and the blood of the men he had managed to beat. Off in the distance he could see Slave Hunters moving over the wall and drawing closer to the wood line. His blue eyes rolled into the back of his head and he let a pained sigh out of his lungs. Stay back... I need a few mintues to recover. Mashyuu thought and moved into the tree line of the forest.
While normally the man wouldn't have cared about how he stepped, in the forest, with hunters coming for him, he decided it was best to simply walk carefully to avoid snapping twigs under him. The young Pirate moved deeper into the lush green forest that almost resembled a jungle thanks to how large the forest actually was coupled with the still intense heat. Further back Mashyuu could hear a small group enter the forest and bark to one another about splitting up to cover a larger portion of the woods. With a pained motion, Mashyuu drew his dagger from the sheath on his wrist and flipped it so the blade was facing downward. First his eyes glanced up to look at the forest and the branches. They were spread out enough that he could fly but it would be a tight fit, requiring him to move slower than he normally would. He felt as if he had barely moved but knew that he had gone at least one hundred meters.
After another ten minutes of walking, Mashyuu stopped and took a deep breath of air to settle his mind and body. He looked straight up and tried to see past the canopy of leaves at the top of the trees only to realize that they didn't seem to stop. "Damn it, I can't even manage to fly straight up to escape. Those hunters are gonna catch up to me and I don't know how to hide like Yuurei.." Mashyuu mumbled. Giving up on the idea of a simple escape, Mashyuu resolved to fight the hunters off even if it meant getting hurt even more. But as he started to look back to the woods in front of him, he heard a low hissing sound and looked at the ground. A rainbow colored snake had slithered up to Mashyuu's leg and was looking up at the winged man with malice in it's eyes. Quickly Mashyuu started to step back, but the snake was faster and lunged at Mashyuu, biting him on the calf. Mashyuu's face twisted with discomfort and pain as his dagger swiped down, removing the head from the serpent.
Mashyuu reached down while lifting his leg, and yanked the severed snakes head off his leg and tossed it aside. Carefully he examined the liquid that dripped out of the wounds on his leg and noticed a rainbow colored venom that swirled as it pooled on the floor. "What the hell is that?" He asked only to realize the world around him started to move in and out like a pair of breath taking lungs. "Oh... Oh no."
