Side Story chapter 1, part 6: Loogies of death


Before Lina could go all out there was a sobering moment which caught all three of them by surprise. What looked like a really good loogie in the periphery of Lina's eye was actually a set of bombs that ripped through the bar and sent all kinds of things flying in all directions. Simon and Mo were caught in the epicenter of the blast, but it wasn't fatal. Mo emerged with moderate burns and a thrashed body from being rag dolled by the sneak attack. Simon stood like a rock, eyeing the direction the attack came from. " Thought I saw a baseball cap...dear I'm gonna go check it out". Mo on the other hand was thrashing about hitting the ground like a child throwing a tantrum. " God it fucking hurts what the fuck was that"!?

Lina on the other hand shivered for a second and said, " ewww explosions". She was covered in random pieces of the bar and soaked in its alcohol. As she shoved the debris off of her, she tried patting herself down while grimacing at Mo, who was hitting the ground over and over again. each impact was a mini tremor, which was a conflicting situation for Lina. On the one hand the woman was  devious bitch, but on the other, she was a pathetic slob of a...(woman child?) Woman child. Lina rushed mo head, which caused the snake to react with the same fervor. " NOW YA WANNA COME AT MEH, grahh LET'S GO", Mo would say right as she gained her own bearings, only to yelp the next moment. Lina flicked her finger and Mo lost her balance. The woman staggered forward as Lina let her blade sing its vengeful song[using silver fang]. " BITCH"!!!!

Mo would dodge the first two attacks with a grin, thinking to herself what a retard Lina was. However the third would slash at woman's tendon and come up like an arc, nearly slicing her foot off. Mo would leap away and throw herself like a cannon ball as Lina strafed to the side to avoid her flailing body. Lina wouldn't let up as Mo stood once more, trying to gain her bearings once more. Only to find herself staggering again due to uneven ground.


" What the hell is going on here"?! Mo would roar, as she tried her damnest to not have her eyes poked out by Lina's sudden aggression. The woman's head would strafe side to side as Nidai kitetsu taunted her. Mo was about to cry from the pressure, even hearing the blade's own insults. In a sudden fit of rage, she stomped the ground so hard that it surprised lina. Mo threw her arms up like a mad woman and slammed them toward Lina, who at the last moment retracted her attack and threw herself to the side, to miss the full brunt of Mo's rage. However it did send Lina through a bunch of slot machines from the sheer gust from the attack, before Lina recovered and kicked off back above everyone.

" Che, stupid old hag. Just die already", Lina said out of anger. She was sore all over and her ears were ringing from the attack. Mo on the other hand was seething with rage, which made Lina's lips curl up just a bit. " WHO'S AN OLD HAG LITTLE BI--- FFUCK WHAT IS THIS"?! Lina had flicked her finger when Mo lost her cool again, making her trip long enough for Lina to come flying in at the same time. The distraction was long enough to deliver a debilitating slash. As mo tried to recover, Lina slashed her right leg off, before jumping away to avoid the woman's flailing. " AHHHHH FUCK WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? SIMON HELP! HELP"!

The woman would scream, while falling back to the ground on all three's(geddit, all 4's). Lina on the other hand, would calmly wait to see how Simon reacted, before making her next move. All the while injecting herself again, to combat the lingering effects of the french frying poison. Although she wouldn't let the woman know about the affliction by giving her a clam smile again. " It's okay doggy".

Chapter 5:Oh the times, they are a changin'

Casino | Slot machines

Bazil stood next to the minkman, though he never once crouched, his entire six foot two figure left the top of his cap to be seen sticking up over the machines. Chuckling he responded to Jackal’s comments, ‘’Im here for that fucker, Simon, needed some quick cash and he had the highest bounty so I figured he would be worthy prey for a king like me’’ Brandishing his devilish grin as he spoke, soon after, the mink bandit hocked a few loogies towards Simon, erupting into little rapid fire explosions on contact. “Good idea, kid, can’t let Tit’s have all the fun!” The red devil shouted, grabbing Jackal by his scarf and jumping onto the nearby slot machines, feet firmly planted atop the slots, Bazil whipped off his cap and hoodie, his signature crimson Mohawk and ponytail burst out from their confinement. His bare chest covered in the wounds that he had received during his assault on the palace, brandishing his signature smile and outstretching his arms out over the casino, “Hey fuckers! King Bazil mother fuckin’ Styx is in the fuckin house!” He shouted his fingers positioned in a rock on fashion, the pirate stood frozen for moment, waiting for the applause he expected to come, however he mostly earned the stares of those still remaining in the casino. Squinting his eyes he looked out over the crowd, making eye contact with Simon, the smoke from Jackal’s earlier attack just managing to clear, Bazil used his right arm as a bazooka, firing a rocket straight at the man. On contact the missile detonated, however explosion and smoke seemingly wrapped around Simon as it hit, slipping over him like water and destroying the area behind him, impacting the bar and the immediate five meter area.

“hahahahaha!’’ Simon burst into a booming laughter, “You three are some cheeky little fuckers, ain’t’ cha” He continued as he wiped a tear from his eye, “I gotta say it’s been awhile since people have been so fuckin dumb! Hahaha” His arms elongated into giant straw like appendages with large iron nails acting as his fingers, his head and legs doing the same, Simon now towered over them as a fourteen meter scarecrow, attention no focused on Mo, Simon swiped his arms towards her in the hopes of saving her from the predicament she had found herself in.

Rainbase | Marine HQ

The sounds of computers buzzing and codes beeping echoed out of a small dark room in the corner of the marine headquarters, a building that had been owned by the royal family up until the kings untimely death, no sooner than the announcement was made did the marines begin to set up shop, taking advantage of the pa systems and technology already set in place for the royal guard. Having now become the epicenter of marine activity for the west side of Sandy Isle.

Puru Puru, Puru Puru Answering the den den mushi was a young lad, an ensign by the name of Joey Wheeler, he was an ambitious kid with little talent. His life up until this point had amounted to very little, but today, he received the call of his life. The snail took on red lipstick and babydoll eyes, “Hello… this is CP9 agent Pussy Galore… we have an emergency situation….i repeat emergency situation at the Rainy Dinners casino…’’ the transmission was slightly muffled and a commotion could be heard in the back ground, crashing and screaming being prominent among them, Joey listened intently and scribbled down every word she said. After she finished another transmission came through, ‘…..Simon Pitt….Mo….” the recognizable names came over the radio, Joey having heard them before, the couple was on the local do not respond list, having paid off the marines on more than one occasion. But suddenly the den den mushi began transmitting again, the static much more present than before, “..Red Devil..... Lina…Askr…..Heli*pzzt*s..Jackal…” The names came across before a loud explosion sound cut off the transmission. Ensign Wheeler spun around on his chair, his eyes fixated in the bounty board, palms sweaty and his body shaking, he quickly added up the total bounty that now plagued the rainy dinners, 702,035,900, it was insane. The young boy quickly scrambled to his feet, gripping his notes in his hand as he sprinted out of the transmission center. He shoved past two officers who had been walking down the hall, his mind to focused to even yell an apology as he ran by, his face said it all, stricken with terror as he knew the extant of their crimes, each one having a rap sheet longer than a rich kids Christmas list.

Joey whipped around a corner and busted through a door that had been left ajar, he now stood in a large oval office, the marines logo plastered on just about everything. Boxes could be seen strewn about, signs of a newly minted office were everywhere, this man clearly just arrived on Sandy Island.
“Sir!’’ Joey shouted, out of breath and drenched in sweat.

“Speak, young man” a shadowed figured responded calmly, though his gaze was focused on something out of the window behind his desk so his back was turned to the ensign as he spoke.

“Sir, yes sir!’’ Ensign Wheeler responded nervously, “We have just received word from a CP9 agent in the field, Rainy Dinners is under attack by pirates, specifically ‘Unkillable’ Simon Pitt worth 195,000,000 and his girlfriend ‘Poison Drinker’ Mo who’s 135,000,000, now normally they don’t cause this big of a-…’’ the boy continued before being cut off by the shadowed officer.

‘’Normally?” The man questioned, as if stunned by the notion, “So you just normally have two highly wanted pirates, in a known location, on a regular basis?” The man asked dumbfounded, with ensign wheeler responding with a simple, but nervous yes. “Interesting, continue.”

“We-.. well normally they just cause little issues so we ignore them, b-but today, well they have been spotted along with Lina Ask a local revolutionary figurehead worth 102,535,000, the mink who managed to united the bandits on the island rob the national treasury Helios Jackal worth 125,000,000, and Bazil Styx a man known as the king slayer worth 144,500,900….” He  finished, nervously waiting for a response from the higher ranking marine.

“Today is a fine day for a walk, don’t you think, my boy?”The man mused as his hulking figure stepped out of the shadows, his blonde mustache hiding his mouths expressions. His jawline was firm and he had one single blonde strand jetting from his otherwise bald head, his arms clasped behind his back as he passed by the young ensign.

“H-how many men would like to accompany you, sir?” Joey said, frozen in place.

“I think I’ll go alone.” The large man said as he walked out of the room.

“B-but, Vice Admiral Beckham, sir!” He yelled, but it was too late as Vice Admiral Oden Beckham made his way to Rainy Dinners.

Side Story chapter 1, part 7: Uncle Beckham

Lina was perched upon a slot machine around 10 meters from Mo, who was busy thrashing about and complaining about her leg. The girl never took her eyes off of Mo, who could at any moment still lunge at her with the one good leg she had. However the sight of Simon shrugging Bazil's attack head on really befuddled her. Lina bit her lip contemplating what her options may be in this situation. She felt a bit of combat fatigue coursing through her body at the moment, sweat drenched her clothes and her lungs which felt like they were on fire while trying to catch up with her body's needs.


The ground began to quake as Simon insulted them all, audible tremors could be heard as the cement beneath him started to buckle under. In the place of a fairly savvy looking gambler was a man who towered over them in the form of a gigantic scarecrow. Lina trailed back just in case as its appendage ripped forth toward her and Mo, only to find it stopped at his beloved. Lina was waiting for this moment, to see what the man would do now that his woman was back with him. She rubbed her chin when he fired some rather slow looking nails at Jackal and bazil. Although it seemed his true intent was to hit some people behind them. Each one crashed with a loud thunderous roar which reverberated throughout the casino. Mo on the other hand was wailing and kicking in the scarecrow's grasp saying, " Hurry honey hurry my legs my legs hurts"!

Not too long after Lina found herself standing before Jackal and what looked to be a flailing trashbag of a man, Bazil. Although she didn't have a tough time tracking him, she still couldn't get used to people moving this quickly all the time. She stared wide eyed at the mink for a few seconds before regaining her composure. Lina averted her gaze when he accused her of being an omen and said, " It's not my fault. I just wanted to eat some damn french fries". Lina listened with intent as he also pointed out something she noticed as well, that being the nails and Mo being all well and good. " I dunno jackal...what the heck is up that anyway what's the conn----"?

Just then the room filled with the sounds of rampaging beasts. Mo on the other hand was standing upon Simon's shoulder like she always did when the going got tough. Though she was a strong fighter, she was weaker than simon in terms of resolve and work ethic. That's why she would have to go and kill people she ran from, like the rumors said. Mostly because it was Simon who made her go back and finish the job. Although when she heard him say that she wasn't his weakness the woman punched him square in his strawlike jaw. The giant scarecrow faltered for a moment, having to prop itself up with one arm before toppling over. When it was about to get angry Mo went on a tirade, "OH REALLY SIMON? SO I'M NOT YOUR WEAKNESS? BIG STRONG MAN DOESN'T NEED HIS LADY HUH? YOU WON'T REVIVE ME IF SHE KILLS ME AGAIN"? The man of straw started to stammer, losing all the bravado he had a moment ago while the mini hims were coming closer. Lina snapped her fingers as they came within range of her territory, causing a boulder which was 30m tall and 30m wide to flip horizontally, causing the monsters to crash and fall on top of eachother. In the next instant she flicked her finger to make the several tons of earth fall on top of them. " Hmm, let's see how that holds. You guys make sure the mini scarecrows are down for the count and I'll see what I can do about Mo".


Just as Lina was about to take off to start taunting Mo, she froze. Her eyes watered and her chest began to feel heavy. A man she thought she'd never see was standing in the periphery of her eye. He was maybe 20 meters away standing at the entrance of the casino. A scarecrow was trying to gnaw on his 9 feet body, completely enveloping his torso. But it was dealt with handedly with a flicker of lightning that tore to monster apart, sending its straw like body scattering to the wind. Lina gulped when the debris cleared, to show the man's grisly unbreakable brass knuckles with electricity flowing through them.

Chapters 6:Rocky VI

The nails flew at the duo, though before Bazil could even react, he was hoisted up by his belt and sailing through the air. Avoiding the attack, however, their relief was short lived as Mo was now back to peak performance. Dropping him on the ground next to Lina’s position, Bazil landed on his bum and quickly crossed his legs and arms, begrudgingly accepting the help the mink had provided. The trio now was now faced with a horrifying revelation, the bodies that had been nailed earlier rose up, taking smaller, twisted versions of Simon’s own scarecrow like form. As the beasts moved to surround them, Tit’s snapped her fingers, causing the earth to split and flip like a pancake, crushing the straw creatures. She quickly ordered the two men to finish off the monsters while she went on ahead and took on Mo once more.

“Tch...” Bazil scoffed as he reluctantly complied, nozzles jutting out from his palms as he raised his hands up, spitting a fifteen meter stream off fire from either hand out across the parts of the straw-men that stuck out from the sandwiched floor. Their combustible shell like bodies quickly catching flame, burning away the straw to reveal the civilians they had once been, baring the gruesome injuries that they received via the nail implant. Though seemingly fearsome, the power of the resurrected straw men is dependent on the individual in question, so while they increase in size, their power comes from who they were in life. Turning his focus back to the others, the pirate realized Lina never once moved from her spot, frozen in place, her eyes fixated on a hulking figure ripping through one of the remaining straw men. His arms black as night and a strange electric current emitting from the brass knuckles on his hands. As he ripped through the strawman like paper, so did his uniform, the quick movement and shear mass of his upper body obliterating the shirts he had worn into rags that floated off onto the ground.

The colossus swaggered to a position about eight meters to the left of the pirate trio, never once even so much as giving them a glance, Oden Beckham spoke, “I see you are up to know good again, niece.” His blonde mustache bounced up and down as he spoke. “Your actions define you..” He muttered, “And you are judged by the company you keep.” The Vice Admiral finished before slowly closing the distance between himself and the giant straw beast, stepping in between the couple and Lina. Crushing his knuckles into one another, sparks danced about, assuming a boxer’s stance Beckham quickly showed off his prowess as a slugger, stepping forward he threw a left jab at the left leg of Simon. The large target giving Oden plenty of surface area, his electric knuckles stinging Simon like a bee, swatting at the Vice Admiral in response. However, Oden was graceful, like a dancer he effortless out stepped the crude swing. Though Simon was granted raw power and resilient defense power in his scarecrow form, his speed suffered and he became a much larger target. And against someone at the level of Beckham, the marine may have well been floating like a butterfly, fluttering about, impossible to pin down.

“RAAAAHH!” Simon yelled out, “You piece of shit, com’ere!” The straw man wailed as he violently swiped and swatted at the Vice Admiral, unable to make contact on a single hit. Diving off Simon’s shoulder, Mo flew at Beckham like a bullet, her poisoned ‘claws’ outreached, ready to deliver a deathly blow. As she was about to make contact, the marine turned and slammed his haki enhanced fist straight into the woman’s jaw, sending her crashing into the remnants of the bar, impressively, he never once took his eyes off of Simon. “Mo!” He screamed, his arm desperately reaching out for, only to be intercepted by the Vice Admiral as his fist crushed into the giant scarecrows elbow, the electrical current nullified by the straw. “I’ll fuckin kill you!” His human body emerged from the scarecrow beast, a blackened cane sword and arms, he swung the blade at Oden, being met by the spikes that protruded from the knuckles of the marine’s gloves.

“She may be alittle rough around the edges and abit of a pain..” Oden mumbled to Simon, who responded with a confused expression, mouthing the word ‘what’. “But I don’t take kindly to those who pick on my niece.” He finished, sending a high speed uppercut straight into Simon’s ribcage, the force strong enough to crush the pirates ribcage, causing him to shed another straw figure from his body, the damage projecting onto a young woman who stood outside the Casino in the civilian safe zone. Her death sparking a panic filled riot in the nearby area, people shouting of the end times and other starting to loot just for the hell of it.

Casino | Baby Pirates

Bazil stood behind Lina, shocked at the level of power that the Vice Admiral was displaying, the marine punishing Simon like a child who had misbehaved. And Mo, well he quickly sat her down like the woman child she was, his physique was impressive. Muscles rippling with every motion, “I…” The red haired pirate mumbled, “I.. need that kind of power…” He managed to spit, still awe struck at the man’s raw power and speed, his movements being to quick for Bazil to keep up with, leaving him with the beginning and end result, essentially a motionless man to suddenly crushing the opponents bones with every strike. Though, the more he watched and admired the marines power, the more he realized just how much farther he had to go, with a flick of his wrist he could paint the walls red with pirate blood. Simon and Mo were the only ones who had hoped to hold a candle to this man’s flame, a flame that burns like a Californian wildfire.

Reaching out, Bazil smacked Jackal in the arm, “What do you think about this fuckin guy, kid?”

Side story chapter 2:Liberty above all else

Lina heard the words Jackal was saying, but there was a sense of trepidation rising within her. She looked onward, not initially addressing the mink's question. There was a moment of self reflection that the little swordswoman had to go through. A question about what she wanted in this world. Her being on Sandy isle was little more than a whim because someone hurt her friend. Now here she was sandwiched between a lose lose situation. She had the choice of being arrested by a man who dwarfed her in more than just size. Or fight alongside the people she was so intent on taking down.

There was an innate sense of distrust she found herself having the moment he proposed an alliance. It was one thing to fight in the same place at the same time, but another to actually work together. Lina felt burnt by the actions of the revolutionaries and betrayed by the marines so long ago. It was at this moment in time when the young woman didn't want anything to do with anyone at this point. There was in her opinion, no point to any of this. She came for simple revenge and now it had become an entangled mess.


" I'm sorry uncle beckham, but I made my choice already. I'll side with these bastards if it means retaining my freedom". Her eyes flickered a blue hue as she turned to the exit. " Well jackal", she said while turning to bazil, "and Jackass, how did ya plan on escaping my muscley uncle"? She said assuming Simon would agree to the alliance, as he was being beaten to a bloody pulp.

Chapter 6:The magic of youth

Bazil watched as the minkman retrieved Mo from the rubble, “You and your fuckin plans, kid.” Bazil chuckled as he listened to Jackals words. The mink now shouted at Simon, though his words feel on deaf ears, as the only thing that he could hear were the sounds of Oden’s fists crashing into him. After addressing Lina, Jackal mumbled something only Bazil heard, his response was nothing, his arm sharpened and shot like daggers towards the mink, brushing his question off like it hadn’t been said. Glancing at the female pirate Bazil responded to her words, “Well, the big fucker seems pretty distracted now..”

Oden paused his beat down of Simon as he heard the words that Bazil said, “Shame.” Oden said I response to Lina, “Youth is an interesting thing.” The Vice Admiral began, “Those who are young have the potential to become anything.” His eyes never once leaving the bloody pulp that was Simon, “I do you this one kindness, leave Sandy Isle, the next time we meet there will be no mercy.” His words seemed meant for Jackal and Bazil, “We shall meet again, my dear niece.” Beckham word’s were straightforward and cold, he reached down and scooped up the bloodied rag that was the Unkillable man and tossed him over his hulking shoulders and strolled towards the exit of the casino, leaving a half dead Mo with the trio of young pirates.

Bazil smirked at his temporary comrades, “And with that, I think ill get the fuck outta here before he changes his mind, smell ya later, fuckers!” The pirate said, saluting the, off with two fingers before turning towards the west wing, where the still disguised Yasuke and Ezekiel watched from a safe distance, after grouping up the trio disappeared through an emergency exit tucked along the far wall.

Epilogue:

Lina was staring at the sea, toward the horizon, with her arm outstretched toward what felt like infinity. A hopelessness washed over the girl who was feeling lost. The truth is after her encounter with the revolutionaries, she felt no trust toward anyone anymore. The loneliness crushed her as she longed to be free, but was finding herself deeper and deeper in trouble. She lowered her arms and hung her head with a listlessness that could suck the energy out of a room. A bag plopped behind her, and she didn't even realize it until it was too late. There standing in the distance, just barely out of sight was Beckham. "You told my staff sergeant that you'd bring them in something good. Thats yer compensation".

Lina turned to the bag, before averting her gaze once more. "What's wrong with you little one? Don't tell me you're going to get depressed when I come after you". The girl looked up at a grinning mustachio man who was bellowing with laughter. " Why'd you let me go now"? He shrugged his shoulders and looked out to the sea. " Sentimental? Your parents wouldn't be happy? Just know one day the WG may send you an invitation and on that day I urge you to accept it, lest we be enemies the next time we meet". Lina stood up and stomped her foot, sending cracks throughout the area and causing it to shake. " Why would I do that? YOU SAW WHAT THEY DID? WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING THEM"?

Beckham clenched his fist, causing a wave of power to flow over her. It brought the girl to her knees and made her body feel like jello. " You're 1000 years too early to be yelling at me kiddo. If you want to be free, then take hold of what I couldn't". Lina remembered what he was referring to, a rumor about him having previous mafia ties. He smiled and bid her farewell. Warning her that if she didn't act soon, someone above him would order her head on a platter. " And there would be nothing I could do Lina". Lina kneeled and laughed with sweat coursing down her cheeks. " Alright unc...mom...dad...I'll surpass you all and become free"!
