More than once she regretted leaving her island after all if she hadn't she would still be surrounded by all of those she knew and loved rather than living in this crime filled cesspool known as the Nil District. The outside world was quite bleak in comparison to Amazon Lily not in regards to the dangers surrounding it no, just more so the desperation that filled the world. Everyone was so hungry but not everyone wanted food but everyone out here wanted something whether Beli, power, sex leaving her to reflect that she would do her best to avoid making any relationships while she was banished. The words of her elder rang true "Men are not to be trusted" but then again her wisdom seemed to not extend to the fact that in most cases non Kuja women were just as if not even more dangerous than their male counterparts.
Still what could she do, she was stuck out here hiding out near the docks because she could only comfortably fall asleep underwater, knowing that at any point in time she could end up getting jacked for her meager belongings. Still maybe this introspection was enough for her to come to a decision, she needed to affirm her goal now that she had no home. She had spend whatever time she could spend, not stealing food from fisherman or trying to hunt for it on her own, thinking and pondering how she could survive out here and the only conclusion that came to mind was to do what she did best. She was good at medicine, it happens when you have to treat your own injuries, but being a doctor in this lawless world wasn't easy she needed money for that so she had a fall back option to fund her medical career.
Hunting, not for food but for people she would have to make a living off of doing just that taking jobs that others wouldn't and using the funds from that to make a more decent living. Just as she came to the conclusion that such a plan was both logical and well within her limits she heard a very distinct melody ring out through the area. While this wouldn't be a cause for concern as occasionally music was played, the disconcerting part was that she was currently in her makeshift den underwater and she could still hear the music. This would prompt her to swim upward breaking the surface to look around with her eyes widening as she noticed in the distance walking on top of the sea were white creatures of some sort. She had never seen such a thing they had a body comprised of three segments and their arms were comprised of wood, but the unsettling part about them were their beady eyes and gaping maws. They didn't move all that fast but that wasn't the point seeing as there were so many of them and she would dive back into the water to regain her bearings.
"This isn't my problem, I can just hide here and wait until they've been dealt with by the locals. With any luck they won't be stopped until they've killed a good portion of them and I can benefit from it since it's not stealing if the owners are already dead. she thought to herself keeping her eyes on the surface looking for the very distinct splashes made by the incoming creatures. Did she feel bad about her inactivity, no not really after all it wasn't in her nature to care about random people nor did it make sense from a logical standpoint. She didn't know what those creatures were but she wasn't familiar enough with their anatomy for her skills to be all that effective so why waste time fighting when she could be pragmatic and avoid initial contact. When they eventually made landfall and she witness the local populace fighting them then she could learn from their engagements and factor that into how she fought them.
If she was being utterly truthful she was afraid whatever those things were they didn't look natural, and this was coming from someone like her who lived on an island with numerous dangerous creatures. Either way her thoughts were broken up when she saw that the were now on top of her, at least at the surface of the water and she could clearly see that their numbers would most definitely pose a problem to the general population on the island. It was all a matter of whether or not those truly in charge decided to make a move to quell the threat before it could truly spread or they held back their forces until they could make the most profitable choice. Either way as it was she was stuck until they all past her as surfacing now would put her in more trouble than it was worth.
