Sunny days were always the best for a revolution.
Standing broad in his usual attire, Sym’s hand would dance across the air, seeming to lock at certain points on varying symbols. It was clear he was amused by something in the moment, a slight grin on his face as his faces remained steadfast on what stood before him. The sight of the younger Youtou brother had become something of commonplace around the Common Grounds. He was certainly hard to miss.
A palpable unease weighed heavily in the air. Though the commoners continued on with life per the norm, there was an obvious tension that seeped off of them. There was little secret as to who the distaste was directed at, the massive gate at the edge of town a physical symbol of their oppression. It was clear they were begging for something or someone to create a change, to release them from the bonds of servitude that had become their lives. The rumblings of those frequenting the district would be that of a desire to usurp the control the nobles had gained over them. Unfortunately, little success had occurred in an attempt to not only unify but plan a way to overcome the disadvantages that had been levied against them.
Part of that was due to a lack of true leadership, no person or persons capable of spearheading an initiative to free them from servitude seeming to exist amongst them. There was also equal parts treachery involved, the nobles well aware of the disdain they leave beyond the other side of those gates. As so, they had deployed envoys of their intent to infiltrate the masses and maintain knowledge on their activities and discussions. With no true idea of what true allegiances one another fell upon, constructing a cohesive movement proved nigh impossible.
Until now.
With little ties to the same bounds that restricted the movements of the natives, the pair had quite a bit more freedom to work with. The time spent on the island so far had been brief but certainly insightful. From the edges of Greenie Pass, all the way to the Emerald Gates themselves, every part of the land had received its judgment from the Youtopia Pirates. Either salvation or extermination. Today would prove to be the greatest judgment of all, the supposed crown jewel of Lulusia Kingdom, the Emerald District, would have its mettle tested not by man, but by gods.
”It’s a great day for the smoke wouldn’t you say?”
