GV - Welcome to Baltigo :

"泥棒の間で栄誉"

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

"Stop crying Zaza... You need to keep quiet." Eris whispered, his hand firmly clasped over his identical twin's mouth in attempt to keep her whimpering from giving away their location. Along the streets of the Nil District, walking readily along the open sewage canals, a man dressed in a tightly fitted suit, standing at around 6'5 in height, trailed his katana against the cracked concrete. "Ura.... Ura.... Who do you brats think I am?" the mysterious suited male exclaimed, chuckling slowly. "Even if you kept as quiet as a mouse... My Kenbunshoku Haki picks up on the subtlest of auras. Please..." the man said pausing between each of his words, lifting his blade to the heavens. Slashing down at an arc, a gush of wind fluttered, increasing in intensity as it traveled, motioning in a mass of green 'energy', a wind blade aimed towards the water tank the two twins were hiding behind. As the tank sliced into two, the mucky water poured down in typhoons, filling the street and exposing the twins location. "Please.... Let's head back to mistresses warehouse. I've grown annoyed... at this little game of hide and seek." the man stated with the sternnest of expressions, however, in his mind, joy filled him. A joy that came from the thought of possibly slicing one of the twins open, gutting their innards on the slums pavement.

Kojiro - The Sword Hunter:

[GV] Welcome to Baltigo I Original

Miles off the coast of Baltigo, "Everyone report to the navigation room." Sinbad shouted. Jackal, who'd already been sitting within room, hoisted in a chair snoring lightly, woke up to the sound of the announcement that rung through the entire vessel. Within minutes, the navigational room was filled with members of the Calico and Warhead pirates respectively. "Alright. Listen up. This ship is running out of air. Meaning, we won't be able to sustain flight for much longer." Sinbad reported. "Baltigo is a revolutionary turf. This vessel might just be one of few in existence, if we fly any closer it'd be like announcing to the revolutionaries that we're here with their stolen craft." Sinbad continued on. "And as such... We're landing now. We'll sail towards the Nil District... It's literally the only blind spot into Baltigo." Sinbad stated. "Still. I'm not going to leave something like this just sitting here in the harbour unprotected." Jackal stated. "You won't need to worry about that Captain." Sinbad said grinning. Jackal turned his face towards Sinbad shooting him a puzzled expression, "The Jolly Roger this vessel is bearing is Diana's own. As long she stays allied with the marines... The Kingpins nor the revolutionaries don't want them buzzing around here." Sinbad stated. Jackal mulled it over in his mind for a bit, before simply giving Sinbad the nod to dock. "Besides. The Nil District has literally been outlawed as being seen as a part of Baltigo. Technically, docking here is entering the country illegally." Sinbad stated grinning, as he walked back towards the helm of the vessel, rearranging the gears on the council to signal the ship's landing.

Bazil sat on his golden ‘throne’ nestled inside of the Skuttlebutt, empty bottles littered the ground, the stench of alcohol filled the air of the pitch black room. The pirate sprawled out on the pile of gold with another bottle in hand, every few seconds he would throw another gulp down the back of his throat, guzzling the whiskey that was left. Adding to his already drunken stupor. It had been days since the incident on Cactus Island and during that time he as rarely seen by the fellow passengers on the airship. Coming out to obtain more drink and the occasional check up from Kappa on his right hand, still hung up by a sling to prevent further damage while he recovered.

Glug, glug, glug, the liquid inside of the bottle would bubble up as it turned upside down with each sip. When one was finished he would either chuck it on the ground or send it flying to the adjacent wall before grabbing another and repeating the process over and over again. Drowning not pain or sorrow, but anger, anger at himself for his own inability to catch his prey. Anger towards being outdone by his companion, Jackal. Nothing about his time on Cactus Island sat well with the pirate and with such a long trip to Baltigo, he found solace at the bottom of a bottle.

Suddenly, a muffled voice would penetrate the wooden walls of the vessel. The words weren’t clear and could barely be made out. After it quieted down, Yasuke busted into the dark and dank room, “Young Lord!” He yelled, “Sir Sinbad is requesting us to go down to the navigation room.”
“…..*Hic*….fu-fuck that little blonde shit…*Hic*..” His words were slurred and spaced out, his intoxication level was much higher than it should be by this point. “An….and leave me..*Hic* the fuck alone…” The pirate snapped back. Yasuke’s large body hung in the doorway, the light at his back projecting his shadow over the room with Bazil shielding his eyes.

“Bwhahahahaha!” The samurai billowed, completely ignoring the words of his drunken captain and stomped over to the pile of treasure Bazil was resting on. Using just his arms, the hulking man scooped up the pirate and tossed him over his right shoulder. While the Red Devil was to inebriated to resist, the best he could do was avoid spilling the whiskey he had left in the bottle. Continuing to drink as the samurai casually strolled out of the room. As he stepped out onto the deck, Yasuke signaled to Ezekiel with a head nod and a dirty look, letting the navigator know to follow the pair towards the navigation room as Sinbad had instructed. As they arrived the Calico Pirates navigator as explaining the current situation of the ship, advising them that landing in the open water and sailing into the Niil district would be the safest route. There, docking with Diana’s flag flown above, should keep them relatively safe, for now.

As the small blonde spoke, Bazil, still slung over the cooks shoulder, continue to drink, relatively ignoring most of what the man said. “..stu-…stupid little..*hic*..shit..” He’d mumble to himself as he face the back of the room while Yasuke faced Sinbad. “Ordering mmm…me… around..” He continued before receiving what boiled down to a swat on the ass by Yasuke, quieting the pirate down again. His intoxication level preventing what would normally be an obnoxious outburst from the young man.
Once the navigator finished, Yasuke gave a big smile to everyone in the room, being sure to make eye contact with each individual before speaking, “The young lord wanted to invite everyone for a banquet to celebrate our survival and new found friendship! Bwhahahahaha!” The Samurai bellowed out. This caused Bazil’s eyes to light up, however struggling at this point was more than he could handle and he was unable to proclaim his distaste for such a thing.

Gilbard sat in his private room overlooking the sea. His eyes were closed and he sat crosslegged on the window sil in deep meditation. This was like sleep for him, his body barely expending any energy and growing at the same time. Interrupting the silence was a booming burp coming from the fishman. He had all sorts of strange concoctions brewing in his gut at the moment which were producing all sorts of gassy exhausts. Through self experimentation, his own body had become something of a laboratory. Thanks to his adaptable biology, he was able to keep all sorts of noxious and lethal substances inside him without damaging himself.

The call came out, which interrupted Gil's rest. Standing in one fluid motion, he stretched out his joints. Limbre and lithe, he felt like he was finally getting back the form that he had at his peak. The travel to Baltigo had given him time to cement his focus on the path ahead. There was no going back, and no second guessing. Whatever happens, happens. With this resolve, he stepped into the navigation room. Gil was met with the Calico and Warhead pirates, all grouped up and ready for their briefing. Their little force was becoming rather formidable, albeit mismatched and rag-tag. What a strange grouping of people that had ended up here, in this futuristic flying machine. Gil stood against the wall with his hands held behind his back. His posture was strictly held like a military salute.

Gil's resolve wavered a little when Bazil entered, the drunk idiot too off his nut to be able to comprehend anything that Sinbad was saying. Maybe he should reassess his newfound confidence once more. "What's the plan, Captain? I would like to hand in the captive at the earliest opportunity." He was talking about the Crazy Heart Pirate member that he had learned was named 'Zeed' that he had captured on Cactus Island. Since boarding the airship, the unconscious man had been tied up and supervised just in case he were to awake. It would be best to offload him when they got the chance. He also wanted to see if he could follow the lead that the revolutionary had given him, though he didn't want to share that with all of their present company. Jackal knew of his motivation for being in Baltigo, but he wanted to make sure that the needs of the crew was put before his own.

As the Pegasus' hull touched the ocean's surface, the sails of the vessel expanded, beginning the procedures to sail towards Baltigo's shores. Among the last to enter the room were Bazil, Yasuke and Kappa. As per usual, Bazil reeked of alcohol and Yasu was stuck playing babysitter to his Captain, making the Mink nod his head from side to side in disapproval. Kappa interjected about Zeed was appreciated, as the Mink honestly forgot about his existence. "What do you Lesser Mink's get out of drinking that poison anyway?" Jackal stated, posing a rhetorical question that in his mind, he neither expected nor wanted an answer to. "A feast... Sounds like a plan but we'll hold off on that until we've turned in Zeed at least, Yasuke. Let's use what's left of the daylight to scower the island for information and supplies. We've been in the sky for almost a week now. If it wasn't for your rations on the Skuttlebutt, we'd all starve." Jackal stated. A slight rock was felt as the boat gently shook from side to side along the currents. "Alright. Here's the plan. Bazil and the Warhead Pirates... You can do whatever you want but I'd suggest you get your vessel fixed. Find a shipwright in one of the districts." Jackal stated.

"Kappa and I will go and turn in Zeed. I'll scout the area once that's over to get a feel for the city." Jackal continued on. "Sinbad. You and the men stay here, guard the ship. I don't plan to leave this docked here forever but in the meantime, learn as much as you can about the ship, in terms of weapons. We need some proper defence. Call me if anything pops up." Jackal concluded. Within moments, the Pegasus would approached a small wooden dock, where mostly abandoned boats and rotten sail boat's currently floated sentinel.

At this point, Bazil’s snoring echoed every word Jackal said, finally succumbing to his drunken stupor. However, Yasuke heard every word and would take care of all the preparations that would be needed for the upcoming adventure. “Bwhahahaha!” He bellowed, slapping his large hand onto Jackal’s tiny shoulder, “What are friends for Sir Jackal?! you are a fine fellow! The young lord appreciates you more than you know! Bwhahahaha” His booming laugh filled the room as he’d swat his hand up and down, patting the minks shoulder. The samurai then turned to the fishman, Kappa, “Thank you for tending to everyone’s injuries, I owe you a hell of meal, my friend!” His loud voice making it seem like he was right next to the fishman. As he turned and exited the room, Bazil’s head would smack the door frame, accompanied by a loud thud, however, this did little to affect the pirates liquor induced coma. The pair would make their way down to the Skuttlebutt that was nestled in the hull of the airship, Ezekiel was busy prepping the boat to be released back into the water. While Yasuke returned to sleeping Bazil to his treasured throne, allowing him to sleep peacefully amongst his possessions. The samurai would return back to the deck of the ship and look to the prophet, “Make sure everything is good to go, we need to find a shipwright around here quickly.” He ordered. With a scowl, Ezekiel nodded, begrudgingly listening to the samurai’s orders.

The sounds of a bustling port could be heard from outside, Baltigo was a lively town with an even livelier population. Packed to the brim with everything from mercenaries and bounty hunters, to slaves and prostitutes, and everything inbetween. Though the marine prescense was minimal here, there were still many people who could become potential threats to the well known captains. As their faces had been plastered on the front page of the newspaper following the events at Cactus Island. The reward for the capture, or death, was quite high at this time. “Ship docking in!” A man would shout, “Be careful, we don’t wanna mess this one up!” He would add, noticing the flag flying from the mast, recognizing it as the jolly roger of the Shichibukai, Diana.

Gil nodded once at the samurai's thanks. It was good to see that Bazil's crew balanced each other out somewhat. Thankfully, the loose cannon pirate let someone take care of him and keep him out of trouble. While their relations had been tentative, they had managed to get along fine for the most part. Gil being grateful for having a room to himself where he could hermit away. This was most useful when the rambunctiousness of both pirate crews reached it's crescendo at the end of each day. The booze came out, and the inside voices went out the window.

'O, it's a pirate's life for me!'

Turning his attention back to Jackal, he agreed with his captain. Gathering information on the island would have to be it's first priority, but getting the captured pirate out of their hair would be one less thing to worry about. "May I suggest that I turn the captive in. That will let you move freely around. You'll be too suspicious while hauling a body around to gather information. If we split up for now, we can cover more ground too. As long as we don't get ourselves into trouble, it shouldn't be too risky." The last sentence was more targeted toward Jackal than himself and his captain would probably recognise that. It wasn't a dig, he was just recognising that the mink possessed a certain 'flashyness' that he didn't. It would be best for his magnet for trouble to lay dormant for the moment.

After he heard Jackal's reply, he would return to his room to gather his things. He would pick up the baby den-den mushi that Jackal had given to him and stow it in his inside jacket pocket. He would then pick up the briefcase. The matt black container was so mysterous. He had looked inside on the way over here, but much of the information he had discovered was meaningless to him. But Baltigo was the place to be to find some answers, hopefully there were some waiting out there for him.

Stepping deeper into the ship's gulley, he walked over to the unconscious Zeed who was being guarded by a pair of grunts. "We're docking. I'll be taking this one." Slipping a sack over the man's head, he then dragged him through the ship by his collar. The captured pirate was still in pretty much the same state that he had been captured in. Gil had cleaned him up enough so that he wouldn't die of infection or blood loss, but hadn't bothered to patch him up further like setting his bones correctly. Reporting back to Jackal, he would follow the mink should he disembark and lead somewhere.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

As the ship pulled closer towards the dock, Jackal mentally prepared himself for the journey ahead. His work on Baltigo would certainly be a long-term project, something in his intuition just spoke to him on this point. "Shishishi... It's not like I go around looking for trouble. It usually finds me. Besides, most of the attention we got on Sandy stemmed from Bazil's outbursts. I was just playing damage control." Jackal stated, chuckling at the expression on Gilbard's face as he'd anticipate the worst. Within an hour's time, the vessel had arrived at it's destination. Releasing the mechanical dock, the steal bridge sunk into the barren earth that composed the Nil District. With Bazil and Jackal exiting the ship first, the duo exchange their last few words. "If you get into any trouble, give me a shout. I'll come bail your ass out." Jackal said chuckling. "You hear me, Yasu? This bastard's too proud to call me anyway." Jackal stated. Little did the Mink know, it'd be quite awhile before the duo ever got to have their feast, scheduled for the end of the day. At this point, Sinbad hung behind, making sure to check the condition of the ship after the long voyage. The Skuttlebutt had already been removed from the ship's holding area, and set afloat next to the Pegasus. After about ten minutes travel, Jackal and Gilbard broke away from Bazil and his men, and then about twenty minutes after, Gilbard broke away from Jackal, leaving his Captain to explore the Nil District on his own. Gilbard would have to sneak out of the Nil District into the connecting Ninth District, and then make his way to the Mercenary District of the Foruth ran by Big Bear, the Mink they referred to as Ursa, though, they wouldn't be privy on this information until later.

If anything major occurred, all three men we're simply a Den Den Mushi call away. If Bazil wished to continue to travel with the Mink for a bit longer, that'd wouldn't mind Jackal, as of now, his main selling point was finding out how this so called 'Badlands' the Nil District was ran. As he'd traverse into the city areas, tons of abandoned building projects and wooden shacks filled the Inner City area, as the smell of raw sewage pouring from the surrounding districts into the Nil's Water supply surely was a telling point to how the other districts viewed this area. "The cruelty of Lesser Minks never ceases to surprise me." Jackal murmured to himself. "Zaza!" a voice shouted in the distance with immense urgency in the child like tone. Jackal heard the voice before he'd even picked up on the bellower's identity, and as he'd continue to travel East, he'd see the tiny tot, wondering around with eleven like ears, and discoloured irises. In a way, it'd reminded him of how Javis used to dress, though, the child was much taller, albeit probably not older. "Damn her.... She always storms off on her own when she's afraid." Eris said, talking aloud to himself. From Jackal's flank, the other twin came running towards his direction, crashing into Jackal, as she'd quickly try to finesse the pockets of the Mink's Cargo Jeans Pants.  Stealing at least a shopping trip's worth of Beli, the child quickly snuck the money into her bosom.

At this point, Jackal was aware of what this whole scenario was, the little brats were trying to run a quick one on him, but boy, did they pick the worse person to try the scam on. As four foot sprung to her feet, Jackal had slipped his hands into her pocket, revealing a small silver locket. "Sorry! I didn't see you there!" Eliza exclaimed. "No problem. Shishishi..." Jackal responded chuckling. The child would quickly run into her brother's embrace, "ZaZa... What did I tell you about walking off alone!?" Eris exclaimed, scolding his little sister, remaining in character. Returning to his feet, in an instance, Jackal would close the distance of five meters between himself and the twins with a single leap. As they turned to escape to their left, Jackal had already moved to that position. "I don't mind getting pickpocketed... but if your going to come after me. You gotta be top notch with the skills." Jackal stated grinning, dangling the locket that the girl once had in her possession. "T-T-That belongs to Momma! Give it back!" Eliza shouted. "Shishishi... It belongs to me now. Just like that beli you just pickpocketed from me, belongs to you. I am a business man however. It'd be willing to trade with you brats." Jackal stated, breaking into a laugh before changing his expression to one with a bit more composure and sternness to it's look. Tossing his left foot towards the stooped Jackal's face, the brother, Eris attempted to stun the man with a kick, but his attack was met by Jackal's tail wrapping around the boy's ankle, ceasing his attack inches before it'd make contact with Jackal's face.

"I like you brats. With some training... You could have a good setup going. Your sister's hands are nimble enough and your acting is A1. Your execution needs some work though." Jackal said, releasing the boys foot, tossing him onto the ground. After which, the Mink would return the locket to the sister twin, shooting the kid a wink, and continuing his exploration of the city. "Hey!" Eris shouted. "What about the beli we stole!?" Eris continued. "Shishishi... What beli? You can't steal something that's yours. That's the thief's law. What's mine is mine.... What was yours is also mine." Jackal concluded walking away. Shortly after this statement, a wind blade came flying about thirty meters out, heading towards the kids position and judging by the angle, it wasn't aimed to kill but maim them. Inhaling deeply, Jackal exhaled air, funnelling the air through his mouth in a cone fashion, causing a subsequent explosion that countered the Wind Blade, disbursing the collected energy. "Heh... It looks like I've ran into a dangerous target." Kojiro stated.

Gil was done with his business in District 8. He had handed over Zeed to what he would later find out to be the human trafficking district officials. The captured pirate would be shipped off to the nearest marine base off island. Who knows where he would end up after that. Possibly Enies Lobby if the World Government decided his crimes were large enough. Regardless, Gil didn't think much on it. His fate had lead them both to be here, but it wasn't like the other pirate meant anything much to him personally one way or the other.

The fishman was now on his way to check out the lead that he had received as part of his deal. An address and a name. Still hiding in the shadows cast by his hood, Gil slunk through the streets of Baltigo. It took him a rather long time to get his bearings and he ended up snaking through the island due to not knowing its layout. Finally he arrived at a rather uninteresting house. It was situated close to the Nil district and the urban landscape was beginning to become run down in accordance. The buildings along this road were built together like a large wall of residences. The address listed seemed no different to the others on the street other than it had a man outside of it, leaning against a stone railing while smoking a cigarette.

Gil approached. "Good day, I am looking for a Mr Dorwin. I hope I have the right place." Gil saw a pair of dull eyes protruding from beneath the peak of the man's charcoal grey beret. "Easy there, stranger." The man kicked off the wall and took half a step towards him, flicking back his coat to put a hand on a sawn off shotgun that was strapped to his hip. "Take off your hood. Who are you. What's your business." They were questions but the way he said them made them not sound like questions at all. Gil did as he was told. "I am Gilbard Noam. I have a topic of a... sensitive nature that I was told that Mr Dorwin could help me with." His black eyes flicked up for a second to catch a couple of pairs of eyes that watched him from the floors above.

The man stared at him for three long seconds before replying. "Never heard of you. I don't know what you think this place is, but you're mistaken. Take your leave, fishface" He had been told that this meeting was unlikely to happen, but Gil hadn't expected his hopes to be dashed so quickly. "But I have these documents that-" Gil fumbled with his briefcase for a second before hearing the click of a cocked firearm. Looking back at the man, he was faced with the two dark barrels of the man's shotgun. Stepping back, Gil nodded. The action was clearer than any words.

He continued down the street, wondering what he would do next. Flicking up his hood again, he dialed Jackal's number. "I'm done with my business, where should we meet?"

Bazil stumbled out of the airship and onto the docks, Yasuke had been right behind him before stopping to say goodbye to some of Jackal’s crew members that he had befriended. The pirate turned to the mink, “Yeah, last I checked I was the one bailing your furry ass outta trouble.” He scoffed and crossed his arms like a child pouting, referencing the pluton incident and more recently saving Jackal’s crew at the cost of damaging the Skuttlebutt. As soon as the words were uttered, Yasuke’s large hand palmed the top of the red haired man’s head and let out a booming laugh.

“Bwhahahahaha! That’s what friends are for, Young Lord! To help out whenever they are needed!” The samurai chuckled, rubbing his hand back and forth, simulating an open hand knoogy. “Do not fret, Sir Jackal! I will call when the young lord gets into trouble, but you do the same! We will gladly come running! Bwhhahahahaha!” His belly jiggled with each word, fully aware that Bazil would get himself into more trouble than the three of them would be able to handle themselves. Once finished he walked away leaving the two captains to talk, making his way towards Ezekiel and the ship.

“Tch…” Bazil sucked his teeth, “Try not to get yourself fuckin killed and if you do, I’m takin yer fuckin ship” He mumbled, his tone lowering with each word, “You’re the only brother I got.” The pirate whispered so low normal ears wouldn’t be able to pick up what he said clearly. With that Bazil turned away and waved over his shoulder as he made his way over towards the docks where the Skuttlebutt was docked. He said his goodbye in his own Bazil fashion, little did the young man know though, both captains and their respective crews would be put through the ringer here on Baltigo. This strange new land would test them in more ways than one. But those stories have yet to unfold, for now.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

Kojoro and Jackal's gazes stood frozen on each others positions, as Kojoro closed the distance with a relatively slow trot. Eliza couldn't move, the killing intent from the strike alone had caused the child to soil her undergarments, leaving her kneeling in a pool of her bodily fluids. As the man inched closer, the power from his aura's bloodlust could've been felt innately, it was almost a primal urge of Kojoro to kill or cause harm to others. Eris running from his position next to Jackal, dashed towards his sister's position, snatching her up and dragging her behind Jackal, who he'd now use as a shield, poking out one eye to peer at the pursuer, praying he wouldn't get any closer. Honestly, Jackal was in-line with Eris' feeling on that sentiment."Growing up... My mentor told me, 'No question is a stupid question once your truly uneasy about the answer.' I have to ask... That wind attack... You weren't using your full strength were you?" Jackal inquired. The man started to laugh maniacally, "On a kid? I'm sick but I'm not that twisted. I had to use enough force to cut clean through the bone but not enough that the shock would kill her on impact. I was hoping that showcase would be enough to get these little shits to stop fucking around with my time." Kojoro responded.

Puru Puru Puru Puru....

The sound of the Den Den Mushi ringing broke the silence that'd filled the air in between the duo's exchange, at this point, Kojoro was exactly five meters away from his position. "Don't pause on my account... Answer your call." Kojoro said, licking his lips, as if his words were mere tokens of last wishes before his assault. Checking the Den Den's physical appearance, Jackal knew it was Kappa that'd been calling in.

Clank.

As Kappa Kata user's words rung through, "I'm a little caught up at the moment Gil. It seems I've already found myself in a bit of trouble. I swear it wasn't my fault this time." Jackal stated. "I'm currently in Nil District. I might need some assistance. I'm about twenty minutes away from where we docked... Near to the open sewage spillage." Jackal stated, hanging up the Den Den. "Oh. Calling for reinforcements? I recognise your face... Your that Mink from the News Coo.... The Bandit King... 280,000,000 Million. That's a pretty fucking cool name." Kojoro said whistling. "Rude. You know who I am... but I have no idea who you are?" Jackal responded grinning. "Around these parts... It's common decency to not go by your government name. Everyone uses an alias. Mine's Sword Hunter." Kojoro stated, pointed to the sash around his waist which contained five different sized blades, including katana's and nodachi's of various sizes and lengths. "The Bandit King and The Man Who Hunts Swords... Sounds like a really bad drama genre book title." Jackal commented. "Wouldn't know... I don't have time to read books in my profession. The way my blade carves into my victims body... That's the only information I need to focus on. Anything else is for broads and dead men." Kojoro stated, only ten feet from Jackal at this point. "Why would you say that? Minks of culture should read every now and again. Our history can tell us so much about our present." Jackal responded, trying to buy the children time to escape, using his hands to signal to the pickpockets to run.

Eris and Eliza scuttled off towards a near by building, with Eliza screaming, "Kick his ass Fuzzy!" the female twin cringingly heckled. "Shishishi... First Ears... Now I'm Fuzzy. I do have a name you know!" Jackal shouted. "Oh demented one... Hear my call... Let your sound screech to the heavens-" Kojoro rambled, raising his blade swiftly at a forty-five degree angle towards the heavens. Coating his arms in Busoshoku Haki and Electro, Jackal started to hop up and down for two instances to gain a quick rhythm, without any further delay, he'd lunge forward, moving at speeds that'd cause the man Kojoro to only see the blur of the man's after image, as the Mink's black laden hands sunk into the swordsman's mid-section. The force of the punch dragged the man backwards, his black leather dress shoes' heels scraping against the broken concrete, sending an electrical surge throughout his body. Kojoro remained standing during the brunt of the attack, allowing his willpower to keep his mind very much conscious and intact.

The man was accustomed to pain, and though Jackal's speed left him shook, the actual force of his attack was laughable to the man, only being left with a few bruised bones around his ribcage. Kojoro's distance from Jackal was only a mere one meter value now, frozen from the electrical shock, the man dropped his blade onto the floor, his muscles defaulting on him. However, he'd give out a loud shout, "COME ON YOU FUCKING PIECES OF SHIT!" Amping his body to move through the paralysis, drawing another blade from his waist. Jackal was left speechless at the man's demonic like screech and drive. "Oh demented one... Hear my call... Let your sound screech to the heavens... For I am the angel who fell... The Demon with no horns but sharp fangs.... Blood Hunt!" Kojoro chanted, completing his statement his time, raising his blade at a similar angle, within moments, a wind blade was fired off, moving at speeds that Jackal could've easily avoided, however, the pressure from the attack made it impossible for the man to move, it was almost like he frozen in place.

The wind blade shredded into Jackal's chest, cutting diagonally from his lower abdomen up towards his left shoulder. The Mink's turtle neck was ripped to shred's, leaving a gash that caused blood gush out by the buckets upon contact, launching the Mink several meters backwards crashing into a wooden shanty to the East of their position. "Your fast.. but my Blood Hunt has an air pocket around it... Once it comes within at least six meters of it's prey... the suction increases... You being this close was slight work." Kojoro said, licking his blade with immense glee. Droplets of Jackal's blood gushed onto the man's face, leaving him with a bloodied face mask. The wound Jackal took was Major, cutting to the bone, damaging his ribcage and numbing operations to his left shoulder, and the bleed was pretty constant. Crashed in a debris of wood and shattered furniture, the Mink showed zero signs of life to the outside world. Honestly, Jackal was still in shock, his mind trying to process a solution, now that he'd gained almost a fifteen meter distance from the man. "Fuzzy!" Eliza shouted, wanting to break away from her brother's care to check on the Mink.

"Stop it!" Eris shouted, emerging from behind the small wooden shack. "He's just a nice guy... We even pickpocketed him and he let us keep the money... Leave him be." Eris chimed in, trembling slightly. "Take me. Let my sister go. It's my blood she wants anyway." Eris stated. Kojoro broke down in laughter, "You had me running over this fucking shit hole all day... Now you think you're in a position to brag... How about, no. I'm taking you both. That's my job as Mother's Knight. I enforce anyone who stands against her. Men, Women, Kids, Monsters... It doesn't matter. On Baltigo... It doesn't matter! Once you mess with the Kingpins... or one of them has their eyes on you... Your only option is to comply-" Moments before the man's exchange with Eris started, Jackal was biding his time within the demolished house. Wincing in pain, "Damn... I've lost alot of blood." Jackal thought, as his wounds bled out. Unwrapping his scarf from around his neck using his right hand, he'd wrap the scarf along the wound, reinforcing it tightly to at least reduce the bleeding momentarily.Fastening the scarf with two knots, Jackal returned to his feet, placing his Steampunk Goggles over his face. It'd take a few moments for this to happen, all of the blood lost had made the man extremely dizzy. However, after a mental run through of the data collected, he was calm once again.

"Let's recap. In terms of speed... I'm faster. However, my attacks won't stop him in one strike. Not to mention, what he doesn't have in speed, he makes up for in finesse with that blade and those attacks. The projectile he fired from his blade... It wasn't too fast. I saw it. However, it had so much force in it, by the time it was launched, my fate was already sealed. Had I leapt then, I would surely lost a leg." Jackal's thoughts concluded. Hawking up spit, discharging it from his mouth onto the ground, Jackal checked for any noticeable internal bleeding in his saliva but none was found. Seeing only light chunks of blood, it wasn't much for concern considering everything that'd happen in the last few seconds. Adjusting the dials on side of his goggles, Jackal zoomed into Kojoro's position. Mustering up a mixture of saliva and mucus, Jackal puckered his lips, interrupting the end of the man's speech to the kids. Six spit bombs launched toward's Kojoro's position from fifteen meters away. Kojoro kept his head on a swivel at all times, so he'd notice the incoming alien objects, his now activated Kenbunshoku would've made him aware of this. However, the speed of the projectiles as they splattered against his right arm, right side and shoulder blade, let off an explosion that covered over a thirty meter radius.

The force of the attack launched the kids who were ten meters away, at least another ten meters back from the force alone. As the smoke cleared, Kojoro right hand was completely broken, with parts of his right shoulder blade completely shattered. The residual impact of the explosion also caused damage to his right leg, literally, everything on the right side of his body was majorly damaged, nothing to kill him, but it'd slow him down, especially the third degree burns that started to ooze information. As the smoke disbursed, Jackal finally was able to maintain stance, exiting the wooden house, he'd close the distance to about five meters, resetting the dials on his goggles to 20/20 vision. Both men's Kenbunshoku Haki was activated at this point, Jackal used his to aim for the spit bombs contact, and Kojoro used his to track the kids from the time he'd entered into the Nil District. "First... Your speed was amazing. Now... Your fucking spit explodes... I was wondering what good spitting at distances would do you... but then... to have that much of a punch. I feel like I got struck by a cannonball. Forget the kids... I can't have you running around in Mother's turf. I'm glad your standing." Kojoro stated smirking widely.

Approaching from the distance as a pack of around fifteen men, the outlines and their possessions were made clear to both men present about thirty meters away from the West of their position. "Ah... It seems your little fireworks have attracted my men." Kojoro said, reaching into his jacket's pocket with his left hand for a cigarette. Once he'd light the nicotine stick, he'd nurse it between his lips, discarding the blade in his right hand, as it was no longer useful with his hand pretty much crippled. Drawing another blade from his sash, this one, Ryo Wazamono in grade, he'd raise his blade towards the sky once again. "Oh Evil I Serve... Answer My Call..." Kojoro murmured.

In a bit of trouble aye? But it wasn't his fault this time. Gil's lips pressed into a thin smile before taking off in the direction of the Nil District. That was to be expected though. The youngling was worth a fortune dead or alive. On this island, he wouldn't be able to go far without getting into some sort of trouble. The captain's personality didn't help that much either. Gil pocketed the den-den mushi. Twenty minutes away from where they landed, near a sewage spillage. That was enough detail to locate him. Dashing up the side of the line of buildings, Gil would make his way through the nine districts and toward the Nil. Like a gymnast, he jumped from building to building, contorting his body to reach each new foothold. A breeze caressed his face, letting him pick up a whiff of the spillage that Jackal had mentioned. Changing his angle toward the smell, Gil ran off toward the fight that was taking place.

As he neared, a front of wind flowed over him. That was from an explosion. Scaling a highrise building, Gil finally looked out on the fight that was taking place. Yep, there was his hairy captain, knee deep in trouble again. He was locked in a fight with someone. He had managed to keep Jackal's attention so he couldn't be too much of a push over. Gil's black eyes picked up a group of shapes moving around to the west of the duel. They were drawing their weapons and approaching. "Let's give them some privacy." Backing up from the edge of the roof, Gil took a run up and dived off, flying down to their position from above.

Spoiler:

His right hand went into his pocket, touching the button on his water dial while he fell. It began spraying water out at a quick pace which Gil grabbed and began to mould as soon as it came out. Coating his arm, he pushed it downward to collide with the ground softly and quickly spread to encompass the whole area that the men enhabited. In one smooth movement, pulsed the water outwards then inwards like the beat of a heart, sucking the men into the centre and smashing them against each other. from the sides of his arm, Gil flicked spray outwards to slow his descent into a noiseless landing.

Leaving the group of men incapacitated behind him, he moved to perch on a rock to observe Jackal's entanglement, pulling the water back to condense against his body as he did it.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

"There you go again.... with that damn chant." Jackal thought commenting on Kojoro's weird pre-game mantra, spitting off another string of spit bombs. This time, the bomb's were met with a three smaller arcs of wind, that Kojoro had fired off from his blade, slicing through the gunk with sharp precision and continuing their path towards the Mink's location in the scrap. In fear of opening his wound any further, Jackal placed his palm against the floor, using his quick detonations to take flight into the air, allowing the blades target to switch to nothing but shattered board. "In terms of power... If our attacks clash. He'll win." Jackal thought. "Let's change my strategy up a bit." Jackal murmured grinning. Wincing in pain, Jackal noticed once suspended in mid-air, that he wouldn't be able to make extremely quick moves with risk of opening the wound on his chest wider. However, at this stage, it'd be a risk he'd have to take, even if he couldn't achieve his true full potential. Blasting around at speeds, slightly slower than his top notch, Jackal's zig-zag patterns that he'd be using to hover around above Kojoro's position's on land, truly moved at speeds that his eyes, nor his Kenbunshoku could've picked up. Kojoro felt overwhelmed trying to follow him, as such, he'd decided that if he couldn't match his attacks with the man's movement, he'd cut off his routes and nail him then.

"String Blade - Tornado!" Kojoro shouted. Slashing his blade in a curve like motion, Kojoro would render a wind blade with a weird arc and shape, similar to that of a spring. The wind blade stated off at around ten meters in size but then as it took traction, it'd cover at least twenty meters, circling around the area Jackal was hovering about forming a ring around the man. Sheathing his blade, the blade would then kick violently into a pillar of raging air, the tempest violence would be crude enough to stop the force of the propulsion of the Mink's movements. Scoping the outlines of the mid-air whirlwind, Kojoro would've waited for the Mink's route of escape. He'd either have to retreat to the skies or blast his way out of the wind cage at the spirals weakest point. However, the long Jackal stood in the whirlwinds, the razor like nature of the wind would begin chip away at his body. Focusing his Bushoshoku Haki on his chest and lower abdomen, Jacakl reinforced the area of his wound (and around it) with a thick Obsidian coat. Propelling his way towards the bottom of the spiral, he'd escape through the outlines of the spinning wind.

Finally escaping, Jackal was falling towards Kojoro's position, his back, legs, arms and cheek covered in several gashes that bled out. Jackal's body was falling from his position about twenty-five meters off the ground and fast, Kojoro grinned, as he'd wait until Jackal was about ten meters off from his position to deliver the finishing blow. Drawing his Ryo Wazamono, Kojoro would inhale, about to extend his blade outwards to fire off the wind blade that had wounded the Mink in the first place. "Blood-" Kojoro thought however, his trade of thought was interrupted by the Mink's blinding speed. Disregarding the nursing of his wounds, in one motion, Jackal would release a quick blast, closing the distance between himself and the man in seconds, it'd be a complete blur to the swordsman. Opening his wound wider, Jackal's blood would slow drip onto the floor, however, he wouldn't mind being paralysed by the pain, moving wasn't his plan anyway. A blast of Electro surrounded the duo in a dome like fashion, the disburse electrocuted the man, freezing him in place from the electrical shockwave. Blasting upward a feet, Jacakl dug his claws into the man's only usable hand, around elbow joint, releasing an explosion that'd fracture the man's arm, dropping the katana onto the floor.

With one fracture arm, one broken arm, and one fracture leg, the man Kojoro was pretty much a cripple now but he'd refuse to heed, propping on his one good foot. Panting, "Do you know who I am kid... I am... The Second Districts... one of two, Imperial Knights!" Kojoro shouted proudly. "You think that little shitty 200,000,000 is anything to us... We've made deals with pirates with three times that amount. I'm just one of her many pieces... You'd risk your life for two fucking little shit orphans!" Kojoro shouted, annoyed that after thinking over the situation, realising that Jackal had no reason to involve himself in his business. At this point, Kojoro was just biding time until some feeling return to his left arm, then, he'd draw for yet another blade at his side, and aim to separate the Mink's head from his shoulders. Releasing another burst of Electro, trapping himself and Kojoro within the dome, Jackal brought the Blade Collector to his knees. At this point, Jackal and Kojoro eyes would be eye to eye. "You keep mentioning the bounty on my head... That's chum change to me. Mother. Is that your bosses name... or something?" Jackal inquired, his breathing's pacing increasing even more now due to widening the gash across his chest. "Tell mother this when you see her next time. My name is Ears. If she wants to know my real name, I'll tell her that when we meet eventually in person. These are the last words you'll ever hear in your life so treasure them." Jackal stated smirking, placing his palms against the man's ears.

"I'm coming for your spot, Queen." Jackal stated. With concentrating enough force into his palms, Jackal released a burst of Electro that fried the Swordsman's hearing, the electrical shock was strong enough to disrupt the regular function of his brain, rendering the man unconscious. Falling onto the ground, "Gilbard! How long are you going sit there... and watch me bleed to my death." Jackal stated with the last of his strength, passing out from blood lost. The children rushed to Jackal's side, Eris and Eliza, screaming for the Mink to wake up with tears in their eyes. Sniffling, "Why... Why does everyone who ever comes into contact with us die... I'm sick of it Brother." Eliza commented, tears pouring from her eyes. "It's because of me... Mother... She wants my blood... I have rare disease that's common from our hometown. If she sells us off to the First District... She can make a fortune." Eris stated, biting his lip until it bled.

He arrived just in time to see Jackal's fight wrap up. He enjoyed watching the pieces that his eyes could keep up with. He began to run over to provide assistance but it was over before he could get there. "You aren't close to death if you have strength to complain." Gil called in response, whipping out a roll of bandages and thread and running to his side. "Oh." Jackal passed out just as he reached him. Apparently he wasn't doing too well at all. Sending out a cushion of water to catch him before he hit the floor, Gil knelt down beside him. Rotating his wrist, pushing and pulling, the fishman fashioned a water bed that would hug his body and provide support from below. He didn't want Jackal in contact with the water for too long as it would drain his already dwindling strength. But keeping his wounds clean was the most important thing.

"Stay back." Gil said with a gruff warning, scaring the children from approaching Jackal too close. Immediately, he would begin his work as a one man operation machine. Gripping the water that clung to him with his toes, he sharpened water into several sharp strings. These would serve as his needles. The white thread was pulled to the points of the strings. Then like an expert conductor in front of his orchestra, the strings danced across Jackal's body, sewing up the gashes and plastering the flesh back against itself. It was all done in about ten seconds. Throwing the roll of bandages into the water bed, Gil pushed it against the wounds, wrapping them up and tieing them off. Finishing off his first aid, Gil slowly lowered Jackal to the ground and propped him up against his knee. Gil sucked the water back to him and fed it back into his dial, leaving half a litre in his left hand.

Rummaging around in his bag, he grabbed a few different herbs. Placing the leaves in his mouth, he chewed them for a few seconds before opening Jackals mouth and spitting them in, making sure that they didn't go past the teeth so they wouldn't get in his airway. "Eww!" The children cried in unison. Gil's eyebrows creased. What was gross about treating a patient? Humans were strange with their disgusted responses to his methods. These leaves would provide a little boost to his energy that would help him come to consciousness faster. Next, Gil would send the half a litre in his left hand into Jackal's stomach to help replace his fluids. He would do this by shaping the water into a tiny snaking tube that wiggled it's way down the mink's esophagus. Gil nodded to himself. With a little bit of time, Jackal's strong body would do the rest.

"Now... You two." Gil's head freakishly turned 120 degrees to face the children. They yelped and began to scrabble away from the weird green man. With a quick snatch, he grabbed them both by the collar with one hand and pulled them closer. "You said something about a rare disease? What's this disease? Where did you get it? What are your symptoms? Could I maybe have a vial or two? You won't miss a little bit." In Gil's other hand had appeared a couple of glass test tubes.

It's the thrill in the end. In that moment when something stolen becomes mine or is it? That's the bliss I desire.

In his dream state, Jackal was sitting at the bottom of a mighty oak tree that'd be his usual safe place, back on Zou. "It's funny. Even now you still come here." Jewels inquired, sliding from the tree onto the ground next to him. "Shishishi... It's weird seeing you in my memories and dreams now that you've changed into 'Diana'." Jackal stated. "I am just a delusion of grander based on your imagination anyway ain't I?" Jewels inquired chuckling. After awhile, as per usual, silence befell the two, and the wind of Zou would gently blow against their furs, "I need to change Jewels. I noticed in my last few fights... I keep relying on my speed too much. If I get nailed, then it's lights out for me." Jackal concluded. "Maybe you need a weapon." Jewels stated grinning. "Your so cruel. You know I'm no good with a sword like traditional Minks are." Jackal responded. Karate chopping his forehead playfully, "For someone who boasts on using his head to get him out of situations... I'm surprised you took that literally. Right now. You have all of the means to evade in the world. As a Bandit who runs away that's fine. You need a weapon that can help you out in the hard times now. You have people you want to protect, no?" Jewels inquired. "A weapon..." Jackal's thought concluded, as he fade back into consciousness.

Opening his eyes, he'd awake just at the point Gilbard was being creepy towards the children. "Shishishi... Give them a break Gil. Your freaking them out." Jackal stated smirking, regaining enough of his strength to sit up. "Despite his looks... He's actually a legit doctor. If anyone can possibly cure you, it's him." Jackal stated. Peering from the shadows, the natives of the Nil District had been watching from afar at the conflicts much like Gilbard, and it'd come into Jackal's Sixth Sense range, just how many eyes were peered on him. "For now. I think we need to leave this place. However, I can't be baby sitting you two for the moment." Jackal stated, managing to return to his feet. Grabbing the two brats by the arm, Jackal proceeded to move away from the area of the conflict, leaving the injured Kojoro to fester in his wounds.

As he'd walk, Jackal would fill Gilbard in on the situation. Who the attacker was, the connection to the kids, the Second District and pretty much what he'd learn from the exchange. Dialling the ship on his Baby Den Den Mush, Jackal would also inform Sinbad on the situation. Ducking into a small pub, Jackal would prop up against the empty table adjacent to the door, watching for the arrival of his men. Concluding the call, "Alright. I'm going to let you guys hangout on my ship until Gilbard and I find out what in the world's going here with this illness of yours. Unfortunately, we have other business to deal with at this point." Jackal said to the kids. "However. Sinbad's one of our trusted nakama... He'll take care of you." Jackal concluded.

"You don't have to protect us... I know we're wanted by the Kingpins." Eris responded, ducking his head low in frustration. "Can we really stay with you Furry!?" Eliza inquired brimming with excitement. "Sure. The safest place in Nil right now is possibly my ship. Once Diana's flag keeps flying, not many people will mess with it." Jackal stated. Reluctant, the brother twin nodded in approval and twelve of Jackal's men arrived at the bar. Turning over the children into their care, "If anything happens, you can use Sinbad's Den Den to keep in contact with us." Jackal stated to his men. "Relax Boss. We got this. Remember... We're bandits way before you!" one of the grunts shouted with a gleeful expression. The pack started to laugh in merriment, hoisting the children on their shoulders.

"Now Gilbard. Status report. Did you manage to turn in Zeed? Any leads on the miracle cure as yet?" Jackal inquired, signalling to the barkeep to bring them drinks, "A Glass of Milk for me!" Jackal exclaimed.

"Awww." Gil put away his vials, unable to hide his crushing disappointment that he couldn't siphon even just a little bit of the kid's life essence. Oh well, tomorrow was another day. Maybe he could get some while they were sleeping...

Gil helped his captain to his feet and followed him to the pub. He listened to the story. It added colour to the island. Gil was starting to get a better idea of the culture of this island. He was absorbing the atmosphere through his pores. Yes, he was beginning to see how things worked around here and the potential dangers. But where there was risk, there was potential reward. For a crew that had just declared war on the World Government, maybe there wasn't a better place to be.

Sliding into a seat at the back of the bar, his eyes glazed over the few undesirables that littered the seats. long faces and dead expressions lost themselves in self poisoning. The barkeep looked between him and the rest of the scallywags that turned up. His wary brow creasing at the sight of the burly sailors. Once Jackal was finished with his crew, he joined Gil at his table. "Six hundred millilitres of pure water please." Gil croaked.

"Zeed was turned in. I found myself in the Eighth District. Had to pay a five million tax as commission for them to turn him in. It was probably too much but no matter. As for that other thing... No. Well, there was something." Gil waited for the barkeep to place a glass of milk and a glass of water in front of them. His disdainful expression due to their lack of alcoholic purchase. Gil put his fingers in the glass to check it. "Four hundred and thirty nine millilitres. .08 percent sediment and traces of lipase and amylase. You spat in this?" Gil's blank face looked up at the barkeep. "I did ask for pure water." He stated to notify the man at his failure to fulfill his order. Maybe the man hadn't counted on the extent to which Gilbard could feel what was in the mixture of the liquid he was holding. Such was his finesse with Kappa Kata. Gil put a couple of notes of beli on the barkeep's tray with his free hand before he walked away, muttering something about walking fish. Gil grabbed the water in his hand and fed it into his mouth, sucking it up like a long string of spaghetti and leaving the sediment and spit in the bottom. He would have offered to check Jackal's milk but he had noticed that others disliked it when he put his hands in their food.

"Back on Cactus Island, I ran into someone that called themselves a Revolutionary. He ended up giving me this briefcase." Gil tapped the black box that was hooked onto his waist. "...Which lead me to Baltigo. When I handed in Zeed, I managed to get the name of someone who could be associated with all of this. Feldip Dorwin. I tried and failed to get in contact with him, apparently it is difficult to do so. But maybe the roguish bandit mink, enemy of the World Government would have impress him enough to give us the time of day." Gil leaned back with a sigh. He felt a little embarrassed with this plan. It was far from foolproof, any number of things could go wrong. Not to mention their lack of information on who this was and Baltigo in general left them in real danger. The fishman turned to his young friend and asked him in earnest.

"This is the only lead I have. Would you help me, Jackal?"
