Chapter 13: The echos in the deep

---Somewhere on Marineford---

Reinhardt

Samantha Reinhardt

It was a fine day like any other at Marineford when Former Rear admiral Reinhardt was enjoying a game of put put golf. These days after his injury in the field he spent most of his time watching the youngsters run around. To him the world was on a constant hamster wheel in which it would never be satisfied, something he'd tell his superiors and subordinates all the time. Perched over the harbor in a courtyard with lavish tea and some crumpets, he'd make his fourth swing at the same hole after glancing at the sea." The youngsters are unusually enthusiastic. whats all the hub bub about"? His daughter and former captain of the 53rd division,Samantha Reinhardt, stood at the ready in the shade while he played his game. "Lots uf pirate activity lately sir. The fleet's being mobilized", she'd say in a dry informative tone. He glanced at her with an inquisitive expression before shrugging and going back to his game. "Don't forget your task sir, we have to check on Commodore Tamaki due to the incident dubbed the Devil's Elixir". The man rolled his eyes and sighed. " Can't a man finish his 33 stroke game in peace"?

A small group of scientists followed suit after her mentioning of of the commodore. There were the typical scientist one would expect, white lab coats, lanky, and stiff. Each movement they made felt forced and their behavior was far too formal. Each of them stood in the presence of Reinhardt as if it was beneath them. Although for many a scientist when it wasn't related to their work, they tended to act the same way. The world government didn't like to admit it,but they needed people with experience with biological and mechanical research. The previous soldier enhancement project had failed, so now they needed to move forward with plan B. All except one particular pair standing at the front of the pack, his name was jaegar jackerson the 4th, as he put it. The other was a woman who went by the code name, 004.

Double 004

He stepped forth laughing up a storm with his arms held out in a theatric fashion, " Greeting Rear Admiral Reinhardt, fear not! For it is I, Jaegar Jackerson the FOURTH"! The woman pulled off of her glasses and bowed her head while the others in their small group(3 others) sneered at them. "Don't mind him sir,he forgot the other 3 generations. The name's Double 004". The two marine officers looked to eachother with confused expressions. Reinhardt gestured to his game while his daughter pointed at group with a deathly glare. "S'cuse me sir but we really are behind schedule. Do you think we could get going?", she'd ask in a light curtly tone. "Kiss ass. Oh what was that theatrics boy? You heard me, the coconut!Oh GOD DAMN IT WAS ONE TIME AND I WAS DRUNK" With a slight cough, the squabbling pair found themselves in the middle of an awkward sandwich. With their annoyed colleagues on one end and the confused pair of officers on the other.

"With all that being said and done, you young whipper snappers are quite the hoot. C'mon now, let's get going now".  As he said this, the old man redirected the fiesty youngsters while his daughter trailed slightly behind them. The group of seven made their way to a secluded elevator built into the redline itself. The group of newcomers looked about to see the area had basically looked as if it was abandoned with dust gathering in all over a dingy lab, where even the light of day was blocked out by boarded up windows. The elevator chimed with a groan, startling the bunch. " Don't you kids worry now, this is ol' reliable. Been in service longer than most countries been 'round I reckon. And that's supposed to make us feel better"? The elderly man shrugged it off and turned back to the elevator where it opened with a hiss of old musty air, rank with oil and the smell of burning steel. "Looks like an elevator to hell if ya ask me".

The officers ended solemnly with eyes closed and hands placed at their backs. The scientists all looked to eachother as if looking for a leader. Each of them, even the boisterous Jaegar had no actual idea of what they were getting into. One by one they meekly entered the aging contraption and descended into the depths of the red line. The elevator hummed with a sterile steady tone and the lights flickered with a few sparks sputtering out every now and then. As they descended deeper into the bowls of the base the sounds of gears churning could be heard along with a loud banging and incessant laughter.  "been a while since she laughed eh Sam? I think its wonderful to see the youth enjoy themselves. Who...now? Don't tell me that ---". That was all Double 004 could say before the doors groaned and the sound of steam streaming forth filled the air.

Commodore Tamaki

The group was met by a short girl, perhaps 5 foot 5, laughing maniacally across the way. "Yes YES IT'S ALIVE! YESSSSSSSS. Ey youngster take a look"! Former Rear Admiral Reinhardt stepped forth with an inquistive expression once more, trying to make out what was going on in the distance. The sound of gears erupting resounded through the dank chamber. A humanoid figure creaked in the distance(around 30 meters) with large crimson eyes staring back at them. It stood roughly 9 feet tall with features of a human, but the body of a robot. It was nothing more than a motor churning in the torso, with gears haphazardly moving with each movement that it made. It was poorly crafted, but it functioned. A man of steel stood before them in the distance, with a loud click that made the officers frown. " Geddown. CHEW ON THIS YOUNGSTER"! The tiny girl's voice boomed and was only contrasted by the deathly roar of the gatling gun churning in the background. The marine captain dashed with inhuman speed to pulled each and every one of the scientists out of the way as the former admiral deflected bullets with his sword. This had continued for maybe two or three minutes, before he stood right before the robot and the girl(around 3 meters), with a deathly glare.

Suddenly a thick clink filled the room and the robot's arm caught on fire. "Awww poop, still catches on fire", she said with purse lips. "Is everything okay youngster"? The old man snorted as he looked at his battered blade. While sheathing it he heard a distinct click, freezing in place with a look of fatigue. "I just got this yesterday...oh well. Lady Ako you know it's okay with us,but we have guests today if you know what I mean". He pointed over to reveal a group of distressed scientists amidst a sea of pockmarks which made the area look like swish cheese. Her glassy orange eyes lit up as she coo'd, "Oh my gosh are these newblings? Can I pet them"? The old man laughed and shook his head, "Try to get along with them ako. They're gonna be on your team for the remainder of operation, Pacify".

Chapter 13, part 2: Marshal law

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided Marina
3 days later, post Devil's elixir

It was a foggy morning when the fleet began to flood the main harbor of Alabasta. Most goods imported to the country, no perhaps even the island came through the capital's port. It is a place which is shaped like a concave with a width of 40 kilometers. It has a singular mouth stretching 1 kilometers wide. Ships could normally be seen entering and exiting the port at all times of the day under normal circumstances. The country is largely an import country rich in natural resources such as coal and oil, the likes of which are starting to become important on the grand line. With growing populations even in a place as unpredictable as Paradise, more efficient forms of energy are needed to keep the world running just as they are in real life. Alabasta's primary exports are either crafted goods or raw resources for energy. However with the recent incidents on the island and a growing state of uncertainty, the marines have all but taken over the lifeforce of the island.

Massive warships rolled in through the fog in the wee morning hours. With hulls sporting an 80 meter length, 30 meter width, and several intermittent decks powered by coal. Marine warships were designed to sustain a small army in their own right. Their ships would have refrigeration, weapons systems(such as large artillery), and navigation powered by log poses for more accurate travel.

At that moment, there were dozens rolling into the concave harbor and filling entire wharfs. Places normally occupied by merchant and civilian ships were now being occupied by a grown marine presence. Check points and restriction of travel to the island became well known throughout the grandline without hours. If that wasn't a show for the communication lines, resources, and manpower of the marines, I don't know what else could be said about them. Hundreds of marines occupied the city under direct orders of the world government, sending many shop owners and merchants packing. Government housing was being made for displaced citizens using the manpower and capacity of these ships to bring in supplies for such a project. Within a day or two the frames of rather shabby, but functional housing was being erected within city limits in certain closed off districts. 1000 active marine ensigns guided by engineers and marine captains worked tirelessly to complete this task for two reasons. One to keep those without homes now happy and the second, to provide refuge from the elements during this time of crisis.

An 2 kilometer perimeter was established along the harbor, without armed guards at any point stationed at street corners. Patrols who marched despite the hot desert sun around the commandeered city which now served as their offices to establish communication on the island. Storage for imported supplies. And lastly munitions and housing for the soldiers stationed off the towering ships which looked more like fortresses on the water, as opposed to actual ships. The Alabastan government was silent and its king from the perspective of the people was silent. After the incident with Bazil Styx, The Red devil, marines were posted along the palace restricting access to the public.

While all this was happening, the marines were also bringing in supplies for those who were pro justice. To prove their loyalty, people were instructed to congregate to essentially fenced off sectors of the city, which by day 4 would span 30 kilometers. They would act as the main hub for which people who supported justice would be able to get rations, have running utilities, and be offered protections. However with this came the cost of the freedoms of those who sought them out. Curfews, limited ability to leave, and crowding was a problem early on. Blue badges were reminiscent to the eagle on marine fleets were distributed as proof of one's being registered with the government as a support of justice. Yet it was not all smooth sailing, as there were many disticts within the 120 kilometer city which did not take so kindly to the government's actions. Flyers, pamplets, and speeches were given daily to those who resisted via speaker den dens. Well at least to those districts which were on the verge of erupting into war. An unrest was building up which threatened engulf the country in flames. Something no pirate has ever been able to inspire in alabasta's long history.

Chapter 13, part 3: Agents of Chaos

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided Lm7pjUB

A dreary sadness washed over Alabasta and seemingly stole the color from it. What seemingly was a vibrant tan city defying mother nature, was now a city drenched in uncertainty and building tension. The inner city was perhaps one of the worst places to be in the capital at the moment. It was plagued by a growing homeless problem caused by displaced citizens of all kinds. Some were refuges from rainbase and Nanoha while the marines rebuilt there. Damage caused by the infamous Fishman Oceanus left the harbor and auction house in disrepair. Bazil styx on the other hand burnt many homes and businesses down, leaving the parfume capital of the island in disrepair. As for rain base, the resulting fervor from residents in rainbase, who were at the epicenter of the Devil's elixir incident left them in quarantine. Before the Marines could start the blockade, many fled in fear for their lives due to the chaos of the uprisings and repercussions from the government. Lastly many places in Alubarna were becoming no-go zones due to the desperation and violent revolutionaries who were now besieged by the marines who landed on the island.

A battalion of marines would create a makeshift podium on the spot, with several soldiers carrying the assortment of supplies necessary for such a thing: wood planks, nails, hammers. And a couple of Ensigns trailed their commanding officers lugging around a speaker den den, meant for making public announcements. It was noon, around the time when the Marines on the island would preach to the quire. Their main targets were the neutral zones where the residents neither sided with the revolutionaries or world government. They were those just trying to hand on to their lives or protect their familes. People who didn't trust either side and liked the way things were before the violence and chaos erupted. While the revolutionaries often used national sovereignty and freedom of the peoples to try and recruit, it was the marines who appealed to their instinct to survive.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided ZptP3Nr

One man stood out among the rest, an officer of the battalion and one of the appointed spokesmen for the marines. The construction of the podium had no doubt drawn a crowd. It made them stick out and caused a racket, which was naturally going to draw in people. Accompanied by two ensigns who held his oversized speaker den den, which weighed a few hundred points and was 1 meter tall and 2 meters long. It was like carrying around an overweight toddler. Calmly he grabbed the receiver as his subordinates flanked him with their guns held with one arm at the butt, barrel pointed at a slant toward the sky. "Ahkehm, Dear citizens of Alubarna, on behalf of the marines and world government, I'd like to apologize for your suffering and plight. No doubt you are but ordinary people clinging onto life and are only looking to save your loved ones! If I were in your shoes, I might be skeptical just as you all are now.", he would say before sighing. He caught his breath and inhaled deeply, before scanning the crowd.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided MTwb7q9

As the man gave his speech, a listless Lina would stumble about clutching her side. She bit her lip and growled to herself, cursing the pain. She hadn't fully managed to properly treat herself in the chaos and now the stress from her previous encounters with the government were catching up. Every nerve ending on her right leg and left shoulder stung unmercifully and her body felt like it was being sandbagged with fatigue. Never the less she trudged on, determined to find out what was going on. In less than a week the vibrant desert metropolis had fallen into chaos.

She stumbled forth and propped herself against a wall leading out the fork in the road where the speaker was. Out in the distance he stood out like a sore thumb even among the marines he served with. The girl looked at the flyer being handed out at the other end of the district by children, locking in on the word, " Chaos". Her attention was zero'd in on the man who was preaching to a growing crowd, beset by the elements and hunger. "And all we ask of you good people, is your allegiance!  Stand up for what's RIGHT! Actively opposed the AGENTS OF CHAOS and join your fellow citizens in protecting the JUSTICE that enabled you to live your lives! This is an easy fix, but we need your help....". He would say with a limp head and a look of despair, the likes of which permeated the anonymity they gave him.

Lina scoffed and approached the crowd with a rumble with each step she took. The ground trembled as she approached the podium. She straightened her posture out and held her head up high, with a scrowl written on her face. The crowd which gathered round her, were left dumbstruck at her display. She stared out at the speaker as a powerful gust blew her hood off, revealing her flowing brunette hair and battered face. A blood stained girl stood before them, one most of them understood to be none other than Skippy, but many could not fathom this kind of development. Most muttered among themselves, as to why one of the most wanted people on the grandline would walk out for all to see.

She'd look up and say, " Starving the people of this country and calling it justice. You must be out of your damn mind, Marine".

Chapter 13, part 4: Origin of Chaos

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided ZptP3Nr

As the marine line began shift from standby to combat ready stance. This was indicated by their rifles being held with their barrel pointed toward the ground. It was akin to watching a group of synchronized swimmers all moving in unison, gazes fixated at Lina. The commanding officer held his arm out and swiped toward the ground, to signal them to halt. His gaze moved from head to toe, as if to get a taste of who he was dealing with. " Agen-- No Origin of chaos, Lina Askr, what brings you to this rally"? Lina perked up at the comment, it was like a thousand knives tearing into her body when she heard her family's name being associated with her. The commanding officer who stood before her simply peered at her with a stern expression, waiting to see what the tiny swordswoman would do.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided VmiavHl

Lina solemnly peered from one end of the crowd to another, to see the expressions on the people mixed. There were some with a more worried expression inching toward the marines. While others stepped back as if they were looking for the perfect moment to run. Others looked onto her with intrigue with eyes full of hope. Lina is a polarizing figure at this moment with whole populations on the island being unable to reconcile with what she has done. "You spoke so passionately after savagely killing my comrades and committing treason against the world. You plague this nation and sent it into shambles. Are you here to mock these poor people or have you come to turn yourself in, PIRATE "? Lina shook her head and pounded on her chest to clear the flem, trying to fight back a grin wriggling at the corners of her lips.

" You marines are actively coercing these people into choose a side, to meet your own goals. What makes you different from a pirate holding someone hostage"? The crowd gasped at her accusation while others cheered her on, although the amount of people leaning toward the marines outnumbered those who didn't. " Looks like the people have spoken, your ilk has no power here", he'd say while pointing an accusatory finger at her. His subordinates taking the hint, lifted their guns to her eye level and trained their iron sights on her. Just as Lina stepped forward to meet them head on a cloud of smoke filled the area.  The ensigns caught off guard struggled to not choke as the black smoke filled their lungs and blocked their line of sight.

Before Lina to make a move, a masked agent dressed in purple wrenched his fingers around her bicep and dragged her with surprising force. " Hurry, we've no time for this Miss Askr! Follow me before this gets bad"! Lina flew like a kite for a moment before finally gathering her bearings and pulling her arm from him in an alleyway. "I can answer your questions back at the hideout, but we need to hurry"! Lina peered at him for a moment as he frantically gestured for her to follow before continuing to follow along with him. She kept pace through a zig zag of houses, cramped but they provided the perfect cover from the ciphers who now flooded the skies above, while the marines swept the houses from the ground. " I know it hurts miss askr, just bear with it for a little longer"!

She grit her teeth and continued forward, just barely keeping out of marine line of sight. She found herself pressed up against a trash can or hanging from a pro revolutionary's ceiling, as the marines swept the area. The inner city was beset with trash, roving gangs, and the sounds of someone crying for help every other city block. Society had broken down as bums lied in the streets and the smell of excrement and burning garbage permeated the air. It wasn't long before they reached a new district, one even Lina avoided. The man leading her held a mirror out to signal his men to not fire upon them, but rather at the ciphers who cursed in the distance. A hail of lead met the huts, keeping the ciphers and ensigns pinned down.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided 0uagCr2
The man who was preaching earlier caught up minutes later, in the no man's land between the districts. The dog sized den den in one arm, and transceiver in the other, he roared to the peoples of the inner city and his men. " YOU SEE THIS? THAT FOUL WOMAN IS NOTHING MORE THAN A TRAITOR AND AN AGENT OF CHAOS!", he paused with labored breathing. " My fellow marines and children of the world, is this what you want? To follow a coward aligned with VIOLENT REVOLUTIONARIES"?

Chapter 13, part 5: Captain Kitihara

Lina growled and fell to the ground with a blunt thud upon hearing marine preacher accusing her of being a violent revolutionary. " Miss Askr we g---". before he could speak she slammed her fist into the ground, causing the earth beneath them to tremble and cracks to erupt from the point of impact. The violent battlefield had ceased upon the strike and left all who there in awe of her strength. Her hand trembled and was coated with fresh blood. The government forces who were chasing her with such conviction slowly backed off and receded into the inner city with looks of fear on their faces. It was as if they saw a monster among them, a demon in the form of a tiny girl. The revolutionaries pulled her away from the mouth of the high rise district they had commandeered and into its depths.

Even the revolutionaries were slightly off kilter due to her display, but they escorted by giving her slight nudges toward their captain. Lina who had been furious before had suddenly found herself in a place she recognized. She had been there not too long ago she met her master, The Demon's Bane. They exited from an alleyway of tan apartment buildings shooting up 7 stories tall and into a barren marketplace. Lina's eyes briefly drifted over the restaurant that her master had threatened to kill her for the first time and smiled. Before wrenching her hand from the revolutionary recruits and following them on her own. The passed through the marketplace into a business district with numerous warehouses as far as the eye could see from a bird's eye view. To an outside it would seem to be a maze of white storage buildings looming over them like monsters. They zig zagged through a series of twists and turns until finally coming across a rather innocuous building.

There was a knock on the door, tap...tap.....TAP..tap, each with their own interval for a few moments. Each side returned a rhythm that at times was performed simultaneously, which more often than not was to test the person's ability to concentrate. Lina however simply watched their display with a bit of curiosity and intrigue. Occasionally trying to mimic their movements in the air. Her little rehearsal was interrupted by a loud creak and a flash of blinding light. All those who were present closed their eyes and saluted toward the door, while Lina tried to cover her eyes to see what was there. " Alright dim the lights, don't want to blind her now", said a stern yet light voice.

Captain Kitihara

There was a loud click in the background, accompanied by a loud mechanical winding down when the flood lights went out. The others had left Lina at the door to gather her bearings, since the world was somewhat blurry at the moment.  As her eyes adjusted back to normal, she could see a group of revolutionaries hunched over a long table, some with not so chirper expressions on their faces. At the end of the table toward the center was a masked man who approached their guest of honor. " Greeting Miss Askr, we've been expecting you. Yer a slippery one you know that"? Lina stood at the door way ready to leave at a moment's notice. She glared at the man and all those within with a distrust. " Oh my yer all battered up. It's understandable after the fight you had just days ago at rainbase. Come come, we'll get you fixed up"!

Lina didn't move from where she stood, with a scowl slowly being written on her face. " Revolutionaries, what did that marine preacher mean by that"? He shrugged and leaned against the table, whirring his hand across his chest emphatically before saying, "It's exactly as it sounds Miss Askr. We are revolutionaries and as such,
we oppose the world government
". Lina's eyebrow cocked at the statement, but clearly she was intrigued since this was the first she ever heard of such a group. He stood still for a moment, silently with his arms crossed. Lina gulped and he stood back up again to say, " At first we thought you were auditioning for a spot in the Revolutionary army, but you didn't seek us out...so the question is...you lit a powder keg that allowed us to spring board a movement that was impossible two or three weeks ago. Will you be the poster girl for what historians are sure to call, the Alabastian war of independence"?

Lina gave him a solemn glance before turning to head out when he called upon her once more, " Was that speech all talk? Are you really nothing more than a murderer parading around in sheep's clothing"? Lina paused and her fingers wrenched into the brick, causing an audible cracking sound to permeate the room. Most of Kitihara's subordinates backed away and a few even drew their weapons just in case. " Level me, the disappearance of Rainbase's people was not the government's doing"?

There was another pause, causing lina to glare back at everyone in the room. " That's right, we evacuated as many people as possible. They're en route to different locations on the grandline while we hold the fort down here", he'd say with a grim tone. " And that's why you want my help? To slaughter as many marines as possible"? The man shook his head and approached her alone. Lina placed her hand upon her hilt while the sound of guns cocking could be heard throughout the room. He gave them a gesture to lower their weapons with like a dj lowering the volume on his sound board. On command they had, which surprised Lina long enough to give her a small poke on the shouder blade where Patcheeni had stabbed her.  She winced as blood started to stain her clothing. " Get patched up and we'll talk. If your declaration meant anything, you'll at least hear us out. No"?

Lina grimaced and pulled her shoulder away," gimme some supplies, I'll do it myself". The room lightened up a bit as a rev nurse bowed with a swipe of her arm, leading the grumpy girl into a makeshift infirmary. Lina plopped herself down as the nurse closed the door. "Alright missy, let's start your immediate wounds, then I'll give ya a physical k"? " It's s'all right I got this", Lina said as she pulled down the part of her blouse covering her left shoulder and began to take out the old stitching. The nurse pulled up a chair and simply watched the grouchy girl undue her poor stitches. You wouldn't even need to be a medical professional to see something was wrong. The wound was black and blue and the stickers were rough and uneven. Lina winced as she began to sew again, but after two or three strokes the nurse lightly tapped her wrist. " Why don't you let me do it? I know yer a tough little one,but despite yer cute viel of bravado...you do need some help.". Lina growled at her and shook her head. The nurse tapped again, " Then at least let me do the shoulder and you can do your leg. It will be easier to self treat wound ey"?

Lina looked down frankenstie-esque wound gash on her leg, with the string still hanging out and her subcutaneous skin still exposed. She nodded and the two began to work on her until she was all bandaged and patched up. When Lina emerged from the room, she was all patched up but would need a few days to recover even for her. " Welcome back, little miss mummy". Lina's cheeks flared up as she approached the table with a needle in hand. She injected antibiotics into her left shoulder and looked down at the map of Alubarna.

The former Commodore sat near his radio with frown, listening to all the reports from Alubarna. Every now and then he would take a sip of tea before another report with more casualties streamed. The sounds of gunfire in the background could often be heard, with young ensigns calling frantically for help as bullets rained down upon them. At times he squeeze the handle of his cup so hard that it'd fall on his lap, but he wouldn't react. He'd simply pour himself a new cup and try to go more than 10-15 minutes without having to listen to another youngster cry for help.

"Hey youngster ya alright ov'r there"? The girl would say without even lifting her head from the machine. The sound of gears turns and bolts being tightened filled the air. The oil covered girl was hard at work trying to fulfill her order and get a finished product out asap. Although with the current limitations it was proving to be harder than she first imagined. "Oh by the way elder, what's the hold up with the finished product", he'd ask with a slight grin etched into his face. The girl popped her head out and glared at him with her canine teeth bared, " argh its harder than I thought jeez".

The red head also looked up from her soldering and yelled, " Well maybe if we didn't have a leader who didn't kill two batches....of scientists, WE'D BE MAKING PROGRESS"! Tamaki held her finger out like a gun and fired wildly in her direction. Bullets bounced here and there, causing steam pipes to erupt with a vengeance. "See what ya did ya imbecile! That's another day of fucking repairs"! All the while Jaegar and Reinhardt simply watched and shook their heads. It was better for their own mental health to let the two little birds chirp on their own, than to get in the middle of it. puru puru puru, a sound which came from the former Rear admiral's pocket started to start again. He pulled up the den den and looked at it to find it had blonde hair and a neutral expression. " Sir, we're being called out to Sandy today. Gather up what you need down there and let's get going". Reinhardt didn't answer, because he was too busy sipping his tea. " Are you drinking tea again Sir"?

Reinhardt spit out his drink and said, " haha no darling. I'll gather the younglings and we'll be off within the hour". The 3 others down there looked at him with blank stares, before going right back to bickering. " Alright alright alright. Let's move out, bring the three working prototypes and clean up yer damn mess elder Tamaki. We got work ta do". The three straightened up and saluted him. Reinhardt would begin to head up while taking a look at the bounty posters. One in particular didn't sit well with him.

Lina Askr

A name that was familiar to be sure, but he couldn't quite the name to a face.

Chapter 13, part 7: Attack

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided 8VCfsgZ
2 days later

Lina nodded along and watched the others do their thing. She noticed just how little she really understood about coordinating and working with others. Thus far her experiences have been focused entirely on surviving and fighting others for her own selfish desires, but these fellows had a quality she knew nothing about. A quality which showed through when she was fighting Bully Price on Water 7 and for the life of her, could not get along with fellow she was fighting along side with. She'd sip her water while feeling helpless as they jived so well together, the revolutionaries that is. For a moment she had a flash back to the times when she'd look up to her parents, who were working with marine officers at the time. Although the context is different, their laughter amongst eachother and ability to plan such a wide scale operation took her by surprise. Her mind was blank and in a stupor. A hazy feeling had overcome her and at times seemed to overpower her senses until the sound of fingers snapping brought her back to attention.

"Tch, don't scare us like that Skips. I was afraid you hit yer head the wrong way for a second there", said the Revolutionary captain. Lina stood up and while still sipping her drink looked down at the board to see a bunch of caravan wagons being placed between the marine stronghold at the harbor and the revolutionary encampment. " Hmm so yer aim is ta get rid of these wagons"?

Captain Kitihara

The revolutionary captain, well one couldn't be sure what his reaction was entirely to the girl, but he held a steady tone of voice as he explained the plan for a fourth time. " Yes, the aim is to use their size against them. While their forces vastly outnumber us, that kind of man power also becomes a burden if we can gum up the works in their operation ". Lina pondered a bit, her eyes moving to the marine ships placed in the distance on the map and the ones stationed at the island already. " And if they just keep bringing more peeps, how're we gonna beat'em? How do you ev---even know they're a' coming"? He shrugged and began to point along the opposite side of the city where he was planning to lay explosives near the water plant. " Hey that's dangerous to the people! can't we do something without cutting that off"? He shook his head and said, " It's a sacrifice we'll have to make. A little discomfort now will save them years of tyranny. Just b---". Before he could speak Lina slapped her palm on the table and gave him a scowl, " Playing with life like that....".

Kitihara stuck a knife into the table and pointed a finger at her, " And what were those lives at Rainbase? At water 7? Each man put his life on the line by donning the UNIFORM, but they were a life nonetheless. Ones you threw away to the wind using your power"! Lina tossed the table aside and came within an inch of fighting the revolutionary in a storm of plastic peices and gasps when a young radio operator dashed into the chamber. " SIR IT'S BAD! THE WESTERN BASE....IT'S IT'S....", but the girl could not continue. " Out with it Francheska, what's going on.."? She turned the transceiver on to speaker so everyone in the room could hear the situation. A gun firing rapidly, churning away at the environment like a jackhammer.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided PsYGysG

Flashbacks to Bazil styx entered Lina's mind. She shuttered while she clenched her fist so tightly, that it began to run red with crimson. " He Wouldn't...", she'd say before sprinting toward the map. " What's wrong!Do you know something Askr"? Lina growled and sprinted off toward the other Revolutionary base, across the city.  She flew through the air like a bullet, each thrust forward sending her flying faster than she had moved before. " Regardless we have to move too! Mobilize everyone, leave behind just enough to hold the fort down"!

" Sir "

A warship of seemingly no importance pulled up into the eastern sector of the harbor, after a clog in the works made it nigh impossible to land on the western sector. Things weren't going so smooth for the marines on the island with low conversion rates to their side of the conflict. Coupled with being over worked, many of the reinforcements which were set to arrive were delayed by a week due to machine that is the marines being gummed up at the works. Reinhardt emerged from the ship accompanied by Double 004, Jaegar, and Tamaki. The former rear admiral was met by a simultaneous gawking session from the ensigns working there at the time. One marine ran off from the bunch, crouching in the background with his Den Den mushi. He was sweating bullets trying to get a connection, but his device was all out of whack. " Cmon you piece of---"

From the back he felt a vice grip take a hold at the nape of his neck. He was paralyzed with pain and could only gasp for breath as the snail slipped out of his hand and onto the ground. "Well well well, what do we have here"? The man was known for his legendary sense of perception and ability to spot discrepancies with lightning fast reflexes. In a moment he had caught the revolutionary spy and pinned him to the ground. His daughter came up from behind with her pistol at the end, " Sir"? He held the unidentifiable den den up and placed it in the palm of her hands as approached him. " have tamaki take a look at it", he said while slapping cuffs on the captive spy. "Now then, shall we have a talk youngster"? A sense of dread was emanating from the spy...no even from his fellow marines. For you see, Reinhardt caught the man and cuffed him with the same amicable smile you'd expect from long lost friends reuniting for the first time in years. With the same condescending demeanor, he hoisted the man up and brought him along for interrogation.

Meanwhile robots walked off the warship. Each lumbering step made the earth beneath them shudder. They stood 7 meters tall and moved in a stiff manner. Each joint creaked, each gear made a whizzing sound as they shifted during each movement. The robots were nothing more than metal humanoid frames with a sleek stainless steel exterior and crimson eyes. All the way from the eastern sector they marched in the hot desert sun, unabated by the elements. People couldn't help but stare at the weapons as they marched through their city. The monsters were headed to the western Revolutionary base, accompanied by Reinhardt who would catch up with them before they stormed the No go zone.

Chapter 14:Just a test

The pacisfista prototypes lumbered forth through the minefields and sand traps with ease. Their right arms were tri-barreled gatling guns which shred everything in this path, and with deadly accuracy. The revs couldn't get closer with the infantry support from the marines covered them. The metal giants entered the business district by sundown. Explosives only seemed to work if you could hit their joints, but getting close was a massive problem.Even from within their base, fighting back was a losing battle. The giants destroyed anything not dressed in blue indiscriminately, while entrenched marines called in artillery fire to support the robots. It wasn't a swift victory, but one where victory was nearly imminent when the call from the base was made. The call which was nothing more than Reinhardt placing the den den on speaker mode while his men did all the work.

Reinhardt watched the display with a cup of tea, occasionally dodging a bullet. A stray rev would try to slash him from behind, only to be gunned down before he could get within striking range. "You okay sir"? Reinhardt pressed the button on his mini den den and said, " It's just a pup, next time aim for the leg or something. we just wanna get them to settle down. There's already been enough carnage for one day". There was before Samanatha acknowledged him, with the sound of her cocking the sniper rifle(she's 45m away).

Reinhardt looks upon the carnage of the civilian lives with pity, but he couldn't feel too bad. Those who did escape as civilians were actually supporters of traitors. And when they didn't listen to the marines, there was a shoot to sight order. " I truly pity young people nowadays.
they're so crazy
", he'd say as their advance reached the final stronghold of the revolutionaries' western base. "How were they si--- Eyy youngling they did goood huh? Huh? Sir what about the AI? the AI?"? A flurry of voices came through his team den dens, from the scientists who developed the monstrosties. Reinhardt placed his tea down calmly and pressed the halt button on the robotic humanoids. " Targeting system needs to discriminate between civilizations and marines, but other than that...you youngsters scare me" There was a collective cheer from the group waiting back at the harbor. The marines around them him were moving in for the capture or the kill.

There was nowhere to run or to hide, the revs were backed into a corner. Many considered cyanide pills, while others hesitated. "HOLD FAST MEN! THE BOSS WILL COME! HE ALWAYS DOES", cried the man as he slapped a pill from his subordinate's hand. Truth be told he was crying by now, the doors were being blown off at the moment. "THIS IS IT BOYS! LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD"!

The revs expected to hear a stampede of footsteps storm the last warehouse when gunfire broke out in the distance. What was gunfire turned into a warzone again. The revolutionary soldiers only saw a red blip in the distance, before giant walls  of earth rose from into the sky, carrying the pacifistas up and away from the base. Two massive mounds of earth carried the lumbering giants away and scattered them to the wind. Crashes could be heard accross the island as sand clouds rose into the sky upon impact. Followed by explosions which rocked the island. All that remained when the dust cleared was a 90 foot moat just before a little girl in a crimson cloak.

Lina lifted her palm from the ground and stood up peered at the army before her. She calmly assessed the situation as the sun was setting in the east, just barely visible with a purple hue to accentuate the carnage. " Guess it's time to get going".

Chapter 14, part 2: Round 1

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided N4xfLKe

The tiny swordswoman's eyes strayed side to side as she sized up the remaining military force standing before her. Bodies littered the ground, though very few were actually marines. Revolutionaries and the mangled corpses of civilians laid strewn about. Lina grit her teeth and growled at the idea of her being a murderer after seeing the indiscriminate slaughter before her. A familiar man approached her while two of the pacisfista prototypes lumbered out of the rubble. Their eery crimson eyes locked on the tiny girl while the ensigns reformed the line after her initial attack.

"Origin of chaos, bringer of death, and envoy of the end times...welcome back. Have you come to turn yourself in"? Lina tilted her head and grinned, pivoting her body and dashing damaged buildings. One Pacifista began to lock up as its chest started to open up, while the other began to spray bullets wildly into her direction. Stiff but steady, the robot's line of fire was just a few meters off from where she was previously as its arm pivoted where the base of its bicep was. Just as Lina was about to grin a cannon ball fired at her with pin point accuracy. Not expecting it due to the how the building obscured her line of sight, she lunged forward just barely avoiding the shot. The cannonball exploded and threw Lina flying through several buildings. Her flight was signaled by the dust and debris being thrown up in the distance, coupled with the collapsing of several structures in her wake.

" Annnndd there you have it folkkks, BOOM! JUSTICE DOES NO FALTER"! His fellow marines cheered and the machines became inactive for a brief moment, not sensing her at all. Samantha grimaced, as her eyes flickered with a pale blue hue, "It's not over yet". Reinhardt hadn't placed his tea down yet, but he was staring with intent. He felt like he could have taken her down at any moment, but there was an overwhelming curiosity which over came him. "Askr...that name...this...ahhh she's just like them". Samantha started to catch on as well after hearing what he just muttered. " Sir we-- can't let her go", she said as a matter of fact. Reinhardt didn't answer directly once more, opting to watch things unfold as he originally planned. " Remember Samantha, we musn't stamp out the youth so easily. I'll handle this if need be".

Lina lied under the collapsed support beams just barely propping it up against her arm. Rather than holding it up, she just used her body's toughness to keep it at bay. She felt her breath leaving her and the world began to spin. Almost as if the sounds of what she knew to be cheers were becoming muffles. With her free arm she tried to copy her master, but she just didn't have the leverage to slice up even if she could grab her blade. Reluctantly she placed her left palm on the collapsed rubble and gently made it rise up and off her. Many didn't notice this subtle change, but the Pacisfistas and the Reinhardt father daughter duo did. The girl stood up and dusted herself off with a grimace. He felt an ache in her body that needed treatment, but for the most part she could move even if it was painful. She panted and ran behind the rubble as the sound of gears whirring started to fill the air. " Hey stop stop, it's okay there's nothing to fear she's done for robots"! The machines however, did not listen as they cut through the rubble where she once lied.

The tiny girl was met by Captain Kitihara and his cohorts. Much of the revolutionary force was backing out of the situation under the cover of her display of power. Lina growled at him and rushed behind a pair of badly damaged buildings. There was a delay in her powers flowing from her,but she felt three chunks of land form in her head. With a simple gesture of lifting her finger to the sky, three giant boulders at max size(30m diameter) rose from the ground. As foundation was torn below the boulders, a few men cried out about the last time it happened. Reinhardt's tea started to oscillate and its cup rattled against the plate he placed his hot cup on. With a forceful downward chop, Lina's boulders flew toward the marine formation and crashing into them with a vengeance. Samantha had already ran while Reinhardt's veins started to pop out.

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided 0BCB4S4
There was a whir in the air, which was mostly drowned out by the sound of screaming marines, explosions, and steel being crashed under tons of earth easily tossed toward them. The third boulder flew off in half, leaving the chunks to fly off into the distance. Standing alone amount a decimated marine battalion was none other than Reinhardt. " YOU STUPID FOOL, WE HAVE TO GO NOW"! Kitihara roared like he never had before. The realization of who sliced her boulder was far more menacing than Lina's powers could ever have been to him. Lina however knew what this was. The man who stood alone was swordsman, who rivaled her master. Amidst the fire and destruction, he looked to be the devil emerging from hell. Lina strode forward, with her hand upon her hilt, instinctively preparing to fight him.

Chapter 14, part 3: The Giant Begins His Attack

Red Crested Sandy Island- A Nation Divided FAO3FSn

Alubarna. The jewel of the Alabastian Kingdom. Now nothing more then a shadow of what it once was. The people instead of happily going about their lives in the street, not instead struggle to find enough food to feed their children. The throne has no king to sit upon it, except for the pretender who is using the revolutionary as their backing army for the war with the marines to take the throne forcefully. It all made David furiously angry, something he could not explain as he had never set foot in this city in his memories, yet his blood boiled with the very thought of someone not of true descent taking the throne. So as David stood there looking down across the city at the battle between the marines which he was currently apart of and the revolutionaries who were fighting to defend their foot hold on the city, He felt satisfaction, of an unknown origin, that they were being slaughtered like lambs to the slaughter of those machines the marines brought. However David also felt sadness for those who were losing their lives in the crossfire, even if he didn't know who they were. The loss of life was enough for him to question if this was worth the effort. But he was here with a job to do so he would no doubt do it. Kimberly had asked him to of course.

The former Vice Admiral Reinhardt had requested him from Commodore Kimberly, his commanding officer, for David's assistance in this campaign. David wasn't sure why him in particular but Kimberly did have his command transferred to the Ex-Officer. The man was quite something David did have to admit. He had a good heart, and was always concerned for his subordinates and was a man David could respect. Though David was rambling as he thought about him.

What was really on David's mind as he watched on, was the painful vision he received when he looked upon Alubarna's palace for the first time. The vision overlapped with the palace as it currently was, in its dirty state and seemingly in disrepair, with a version that was a shiny, clean, and in perfect repair. How it should of been. And in David's ear he could of sworn he heard a man's voice say "This is my home David. This is where me and my family live, and why I never wish to live anywhere else. Hahahahahaha!". David had fallen to his knees from the painful throbbing in his head and how the burns that covered the left side of his face seem to reignite with the fir that burned them.

A voice calling David's name brought him out of his Stouper. Next to him below on the ground was a marine of Ensign rank with a ensign, same as David himself, with a large wooden funnel was yelling at him. David was surrounded by a few dozen marine, under the pretense that he was their main ranged force and thus be protected from Revolutionary counter attacks... At least that is what Samantha said when they were given the battle plan. The blonde man's voice was somehow amplified with the funnel. The blonde haired boy had a den den mushi on his shoulder that let him hear orders being given from an officer on the front lines. In the man's left hand were multiple wanted posters from known revolutionary members and pirates. Currently the man had the one of Lina Askr, the one who had just intervened in the fight between the Revolutionaries and Marines. Something David watch unfold. The blonde haired man spoke with a defacto voice that made him seem like he was too professional for this, but David was sorta used to it considering he worked with his new commanding Officer's daughter when being given orders. "Alright Big guy, we got one Lina Askr. Wanted at a bounty of 64 million. I just got the order you can open fire when you're ready." the man said, as he continued to listen to the radio chatter and sift through the bounty papers, ready to get some action already.

David nodded his head and took his ready stance. Pulling an arrow out of the quiver on his back, he would put it on his bow and raise the extremely large bow of his and start to aim. David was currently 150 meters away from where the combat was happening with an overview of the entire area from his elevated position on top of a building they had found could support his weight. Raising his bow slightly, David would look and see that Ex-Vice Admiral Reinhardt had just taken out a boulder by slashing it apart which stopping it from hitting him and those behind him. David took this chance to fire before causalities went any higher. With a heavy exhale of breathe, David let go of his bow string.

The arrow that was sent out of David's bow was long, about a tree trunk's width and length, with added length due to the stone that was put onto the front of it giving it a total length of 23ft. The arrow had a small arc, simply enough to go over the tops of buildings that were between David's position and where Lina was. The arrow did however fly true (At non-priority speed), As should Lina not move the arrow would impact directly on her position, skewering her. However if she did movement she would more then likely be hit with the rubble that was sent flying by its impact, which went out 5 meters from the point of impact.

Red Crested Sandy Island

Castle had been wandering the barren lands of Alabasta, floating from town to town absorbing information on the bountied pirates that had appeared in the news coo and adjusting his travel path based on that. Recently he had gotten word that Lina Askr, the 64 million beli bounty pirate girl was last seen heading in the direction of Alubarna, and given that information, Castle followed diligently towards the rumored location. It wasn't until the city was almost in sight that his trunk shot upwards, periscoping and rotating until it found a near-accurate direction of a powerful smell and forcing Castle to adjust his travel route south ever so slightly.

The smell was distinct, stinking of gunpowder and blood. If it were food or, god forbid, perfume, Castle could have ignored it, but the stench was powerful enough that it only signaled one thing - war. Following his impressive nose, the mink set off at a dead run towards the source. He was slow compared to others, but his long legs could traverse more than double the distance of the average man with each step, bringing him closer to his destination faster as well. It wasn't until he crossed a sandy ridge that the view of the Alubarna greeted him and, as expected, it wasn't a sight that Castle had hoped to find when he'd arrived.

Rather than the war that he predicted from the scent, what appeared before him was the manufacturing district of Alubarna being thrown into chaos by marines, the ones allegedly defending justice. Metal men mowed down droves of humans in front of them, indiscriminately killing men, women, and even children if they weren't already put at their robotic backs. Corpses of all kinds scattered the sandy streets, blood strewn across the walls and body parts flung from the mangled corpses. It was an aggravating sight, to summarize, and ignited a heated passion in Castle, forcing him forward at a speed greater than what he'd normally be able to manifest down into the blood-soaked streets.

Racing through the streets of the manufacturing district, Castle came up to the side of the carnage, barreling his way into one of the Pacifistas at maximum speed. While he wasn't exactly fast, a ten tonne elephant throwing its weight into something is still extremely destructive and it sent his target flailing through the sky. The Pacifista fell to the ground, sliding into another of its kind and tipping it over. Castle ignored the humans - a husband, his wife, and their daughter - that had just survived the barrel of the robot's rapid-fire gun and they watched the ten tonne behemoth lay its weight into the fallen Pacifistas, their metal joints creaking and cracking under his weight and leaving them incapacitated in all intents and purposes.

Castle didn't look back. He couldn't. He saved some people, but even within his sight now there were more being taken out one-by-one. Long strides didn't make him faster than gunfire, and all he could do was force himself into the fray and hope that he'd spare more lives than would be lost. But even if he was committed, the Pacifistas had taken note of what had gone on near them through the neural link of their downed comrades. As Castle closed in on them, their guns turned from the citizens and revolutionaries to the mink himself, forcing Castle to roll out of their way and behind a close building. As the wave of destruction continued forward, Castle ran around the building until he found a door that he could squeeze through.

Crawling through the building as fast as he could, the mink found a pair of garage doors that would lead back out directly to the Pacifistas. Peeking out the windows, Castle watched as the robots turned their rain of fire towards another pair of humans who simply had their backs turned and were running for their lives. A pit formed in his stomach, the feeling of not being fast enough to save them or strong enough to defeat the Pacifistas alone, took a heavy toll on his emotional morale, but it wasn't something that could halt his momentum. Taking a deep breath, Castle leaped through the garage door, tearing it down on top of two of the Pacifistas and sending them to the ground. The mink laid his massive hands over the faces of these monstrosities, focusing for a split second before sending a massive jolt of electricity through their bodies. He felt a small jolt of pain in his palms as the eye sockets of the robots exploded, sending small shards of glass into the minks thick skin. It was enough to cause a sharp pain, but no more than sand pelting a human's skin, and didn't injure him in any meaningful way.

The racket caused by the garage door got the attention of more of the Pacifistas, who turned their barrels towards Castle and immediately started firing upon him. The mink rolled over, grabbing the garage door with one hand and shielding himself quickly before taking cover behind another close building. The Pacifistas kept firing at the corner he had tucked himself behind, tearing bits of rubble from it over repeated damage until they stopped to let the dust settle. Castle himself, couldn't see the ones firing upon him, but could see the two Pacifistas he'd just laid electro into pulling themselves off the ground and turning their guns towards him. They might not have their own visual censors anymore, but they still had a neural link with the remaining ones, making them just as accurate.

Before the blinded Pacifistas could fire, their knees buckled and they fell to the. One, then the other, had their metal skulls blown open with the sound of a large crack, and as their bodies fully collapsed, revealed a man with a rifle in hand. The man's face streamed with tears and the fear was heavily contorting his face, but he came to the rescue of the mink that had just done the same for him and his family. Firing off an other couple of shots at the Pacifistas that were still standing, he ducked behind his own building, running off into the cover of the manufacturing district. If Castle squinted, he could see the man still firing off shots in between buildings, gathering the attention of the Pacifistas even momentarily.

Some of the citizens that had seen the mink and the man had their fighting spirit stocked. Taking up arms in the form of guns if they had them, or rocks and other debris, some of the citizens turned to fight. To Castle, it didn't seem like an unselfish decision, as he could see women and children turning down side streets as their husbands got the attention focused on them, and were justly mowed down by the marine weapons, but there were people that jumped of their own personal volition. Seeing a friend downed for not being a marine, or just in defense of those weaker than them, few people started standing up to counter-attack the Pacifistas and the marine infantry that followed them. The spark was small, but the numbers could grow.

Castle, however, had his attention wrenched away from the Pacifistas and revolutionaries when massive boulders lifted into the sky a decent distance from him. They cast a shadow over the district for a brief second before slamming into the ground out of sight, shaking the earth beneath their feet and calling attention to the center of this battle. With a destructive force powerful enough to throw that kind of ammunition at people, Castle had to be there and intervene. Seeing it, he started another mad dash in the direction of the boulders.

Before long, the mink came out into a small clearing, created by the boulders smashing into everything in their path. He was greeted with the sight of an old marine man and a small girl. Just as he took note of her size, a large tree came smashing down onto her location, and the mink lost sight of her for a moment. But in that brief moment, he knew her as Lina Askr. Just as the news coo had said, and just as the local rumors had teased, she was in Alubarna. Castle was glad he'd made the journey. She was assuredly at the epicenter of such an event and that meant that anyone near was absolutely involved with the executive decisions and punishable for the amount of lives lost.

"MISS ASKR LOOK OUT!", roared the revolutionary captain as Lina approached the elderly man known as Reinhardt. Lina had heard a distinct sound in the distance, but it wasn't until the arrow cast its shadow that she realized what was coming toward her. Using Haki to coat her blade coupled with the training she received from the demon's bane, she concentrated for a brief moment. Then within the blink of an eye to the average human, she drew Nidai Kitetsu and slashed three times in a flurry of speed and power, slice the arrow in two down the middle. The two halfs of the giant stock crashed to the sides of her and traveled into the distance[due to her meito being able to cut objects as big as buildings, perk 4]. The pieces of the arrowshaft crashed in the background and left a trail of destruction in their wake.

Astonished by its size, she felt slightly powerful for a moment. Her hands trembling as she remembered the old man who taught her how to use a sword correctly through a clear mind and focus. Although she wondered if he had preemptively been prepping her to deal with the stubborn cursed blade, which kept doing the opposite of what she was commanding it to. Every time she used it, she required a little warm up to get used to it sometimes moving opposite to where she had moved. Though that thought was of little consequence as she sheathed her blade once more and stopped 5 meters from Reinhardt.

In that time the revolutionary captain had seemingly vanished, at least from sight. In the distance Lina noticed a large hulking figure too big to not notice. But swordsman had briefly glanced at the bipedal elephant looming in the distance, its thundering footsteps too loud to ignore. Had the circumstances been different, both would have actually taken great interest in the elephant. Though as long as he stayed out of the way, neither could make him a priority at this point. "I'm surprised there are still survivors, your death machines are slacking, marine", Lina would say in a sarcastic tone. She was referencing the wide spread stench of death and gunpowder which began to permeate the air. "Ahh youngster, here I thought it was just the smell of treasonous revolutionaries. I had no idea it was actually the stench of real human beings".

Lina grimaced before smirking, " No that's the smell of the newly added marines... my bad". The girl held her nose for a moment as if to reference how smelly the voided bowels affected the stagnant air on a windless night. "Well youngling, shall we"? His question was dry and his pupils narrowed within a moment. Likely the result of years of training which allowed a fighter to turn on the fight or flight response in the blink of an eye. Lina's hand instinctively rushed toward her blade only fast enough to parry his initial strike. Their blades clashed with a gust of wind which ripped through the area in a 5 meter radius, knocking back the unprepared due to the sheer force both were exerting. Before she could gather her bearings his boot came crashing upon her chest and sent her flying and thrashing against the ground into a nearby building.

The man wouldn't let her have a moment to recover as she lost her blade by throwing quick thrusts as her. The flurry of attacks reminded her of the techniques she had long since given up on after leaving the east blue and training under her father.  Within an inch of her face she dashed forward and kicked him back, sending him rolling back a few meters, long enough for her to call back Nidai with her float float powers[Limited blade works]. It ripped back toward her as she dashed to the old man, in an attempt to launched a two pronged attack. He however, using his years of experience and knowledge of her exploits at rainbase was prepared, instinctively throwing himself horizontally away from the pincer attack.

Once more the girl was reunited with her jet black sword, whos waves which were etched into its hamon, were thrashing about like a storm on the grand line. She focused her strength into her arm as he dashed forward without mercy,  Her strike zipping forth faster than he had anticipated, knocked the blade from his hand and up into the air. While her attack sent a blade of wind crashing into him, leaving a shallow cut along his chest. Which had knocked him back again. As Lina in the doorway of the warehouse they were in went to charge once more, a bullet streaming in from a distance pelted her right leg. Due to the haki coating, it only struck her leg like a sand bag. Though this opening was all the veteran Reinhardt needed to catch his spinning blade and dash into the fray once more. Yer not too bad youngling, but you got a lot to learn", he would say as his own blade coursed with buso haki. The two once again began to clash blades with one another, sending pulses of wind out with every parry, making the windows in the building tremble with fear.

Chapter 14, part 3: Round Two Begins

"She is skilled i'll say that much." David said as he looked out over the battlefield to the girl who had just sliced his arrow in two parts with seeming ease. David was not used to it at all. The very fact that the small girl somehow managed to split his arrow in two made him weary, much more so then he had been in awhile. It was very clear that Lina Askr was  on a different level then those he had fought before. So David decided... He would give her something clearly equal to her skill.

Drawing another arrow from his quiver, David placed it upon his bow and drew it back while he brought his bow upwards once more. However David would not immediately fire, instead bide his time for the moment. A hasty shot would do nothing to her this Lina Askr, instead he had to take his time and not allow her the upper hand again. So David watched, waited, and allowed this Lina Askr to clash blades with Ex-Vice Admiral Reinhardt. It was when the two of them entered the warehouse that David would start his attack. "Tell Madam Samantha to be ready. She will most likely not receive a better opening." David spoke to Henry who stood beside him

Henry Madison

Henry Madison was an ensign who enlisted from the North Blue. He was expecting a life for of fun adventures and taking in criminals and as such was someone who was idealistic in the ways the marines conducted themselves. Unable to see the battlefield from where they were, his vision not nearly as keen as David's, he was simply there to monitor the radio chatter and give targets for David to shoot at on command. Nodding his head to what David said, Henry would speak into the den den mushi on his shoulder and radio to Samantha. "David said get ready to fire on Lina Askr. Apparently you won't get a better opening from what he has planned. No idea what it is though." Henry said, as he continued shifting through the papers a bored look on his face as he preferred to be on the front lines rather then where he was currently. For his dreams it would of been better if he wasn't.

Looking down at the warehouse where Lina and Reinhardt were seizing each other up, David made an educated guess of where the two might start clashing blades once more before raising his bow high up into the air, higher then was even necessary to his his shot, but he still did so anyway. And he fired. His arrow flew high into the air, almost directly up from where David stood. The arrow reached high into the air, before doing an arc and started its decent down directly on top of the warehouse. It was when the Vice Admiral Reinhardt and Lina met in a fury of blows, would his guess be called into question. The arrow sailed through the roof of the warehouse as if it wasn't even there, and struck in the general area of where David thought the two would clash, though whither he hit them or not David would have to wait for Samatha who did have a line of sight to tell him. His plan was to make Lina  either slice the arrow once more, so Reinhardt would have the opportunity to slice at her or make Lina decide to jump away from the arrow, so Samantha would be able to fire at her. Of course this would all depend on if David actually hit his shot, which he was confident in his abilities it still might of been to much for him to do. Yet David still put his hope of ending this useless bloodshed in that arrow. Lives were not worth this skirmish or so David thought.
