Caspian enters Fonzo's shop and hears his terrible coughing mixed with pain from the confine's of his bed and walks up to him with a cup full of herbal medicine in hope's that it will ease his pain, Fonzo takes delicate sips as Caspian slowly tilts the cup to make sure he drinks every drop.

Caspian then removes the cups from Fonzo's lips as he takes in a breath and says with a whisper like voice"Thank you Caspian,i dont know what i would do with out you."

Caspian then puts down the cup on the mini table next to fonzo's bed before answering"I can say the same thing, had it not been for your kindness and willingness to take me off the street's i probably still be a orphan or dead, i have you to thank for that"

Fonzo then smiles at Caspian warmly while grabbing his hand firmly before his face turns sad as he states something once more "Caspian my boy.... i do not have alot of time without the proper medicine to help rid myself of my sickness, if i die....i want you to sell all my belongings in hope's that it will give you the start you need in life."

Caspian then cups his other hand around Fonzo's hand that is still attached to his other and says with the mixed emotions of confidence and sadness in his voice "I wont let you die! ill find a way to get that medicine you have my word, so dont quit on me yet you hear me?!!"

Fonzo then does a weak chuckle before coughing and dozing off to sleep as he had been up for way longer than his body could withstand, Caspian slowly releases his grip and puts Fonzo's hand back to his side while thinking "Forgive me for what i must do.."



Caspian wakes up as the train had bounced hard enough to interrupt his slumber, Caspian noticed there was a tear in his eye and he quickly wiped it away so that anybody near would not be able to see that he had been tearing up in his sleep from a dream of his past. It had only been but a day since Caspian's failed attempt to steal medicine for the sick Fonzo in a attempt to rid him of his illness, Caspian mentally re accounts the events that unfolded the day before.

Caspian starts to  recall going into the shop and hitting the store keeper in the head and took the medicine and made a run for it,but the storekeeper had quickly recovered and chased after him and not watching where he was going Caspian ran straight into a marine with the coat of justice hanging on his back. Caspian quickly trys to apologize and keep on running but upon seeing the store keeper running his way the marine then grabs the back of Caspian's shirt and in but a single moment him and the marine were in a back alley away from the streets as Caspian watch's the store keeper run past them still looking for him.

Caspian then turns to the marine and says, "thank you for helping me out" as he tried to once more get away from him but the marine had anticipated this movement and slammed his hand against the wall while moving forward pinning Caspian in his current spot before speaking. "I didn't help you out in fact what im about to suggest may be a crueler fate then jail time if your not cut out for it but im gonna offer you a deal, Ill let you keep that medicine and in fact ill even pay for it but in return you must join the marine's. of course if you choose to refuse ill have to do my duties and capture you and turn you in to local authorities, what do you say kid?"

Caspian's thoughts are interrupted as the train come's to a screeching stop and a voice coming from the cockpit says, "We are now arrived at  Nanohana, if this is your stop please exit to the right in a orderly fashion and enjoy your stay in Alabasta!" upon hearing those words Caspian stands up and reach's for his suitcase filled with nothing but some clothing and a picture of Fonzo before stepping off the train.



After stepping off the train Caspian was meant with the fearsome weather of Alabasta's heat radiating down on him, Caspian shields his eye's for a moment so he can get use to the bright sun hanging above the sky illuminating every corner of outside. Caspian was thankful that he had not been wearing heavy clothing otherwise he would have been grilled by the sun's rays on the spot, mere seconds later Caspian's eyes had adjusted and he removed his hand to look at the glorious city of Nanohana before starting to walk towards his destination.

While walking Caspian thought he hit a business street because sure enough there were stalls everywhere and numerous people observing and looking over the stalls items to see if they wanted to buy anything, Caspian however felt very lost as he never ventured out of Water 7 before coming here so he swallowed his pride and walked up to a man who was wearing heavy clothing that masked his face and was using a cane just to stand upright before he begun to talk "Excuse me sir im new to this country and im lost but looking for the marine base stationed in this city, Could you perhaps guide me to the right direction?"

The man that Caspian approached slowly looked towards him and begun to look him up and down before doing a wheezy laugh,"Indeed you are lost, you have the looks of someone who just killed someone yet the experience of a baby who just stopped sucking their mothers bosom!"

A sweat drop had formed and started to roll down Caspian's forehead as he thought "This man is actually full of spirit...

Soon after the man had stopped yapping away he then spoke at a much clearer pace "if your looking for the marine base boy its just up this street and take the first right and your see it even further up ahead, and good luck on your test. Your gonna need it buhahhaha!!"

Caspian listened to the man's directions and his comment before saying "Thank you sir! and running off, but in his mind a hint of doubt had formed in Caspian's mind at the  mans words.

Following the man's direction's Caspian had walked up the street before taking the first right and he looked forward and their it was, the marine base that would start or possibly end his career as a marine soldier. Caspian then started running towards the base at his full speed and cleared his mind of all thoughts except "I will pass!"

After sprinting full force towards the marine base Caspian had made it inside it's perimeter's and there he stood in front of the building in all it's glory impressed by the authority that just the building alone seemed to carry, just as Caspian was about to take his last step a hand quickly gripped his left shoulder before he heard the words "Halt! Where do you think your going?! Citizens are not allowed beyond this limit,state your business!!"

Caspian turned his head to the side to look the man in the eye as he did not want to seem rude but as he did that the man who wore the marine outfit took a step back as Caspian's eyes seemed to shock him a little which was a usual thing to happen to Caspian. Caspian then stated "Im here to take the marine test

The marine then answered back"You want to me a marine..?Never mind if your here for the test go around the building to the back that's where there holding it, good luck applicant. Your gonna need it."

Caspian listened to his words that he had heard from the stranger that lead him here, Caspian was full of confidence earlier but now he was definitely worried, but the emotion didn't show right on his face as his body became stiffer and his eyes seemed even more menacing.As the worries about the test swirled in his head Caspian went around the marine base to be meant with the sight of fourother men standing in front of a marine wearing the coat of justice upon his back,  the marine then spoke and said "Another applicant..? well lucky for you we haven't started but yet again...maybe not so lucky.Well if you wait for just a couple of more minutes your other proctor will arrive shortly but for now join the line."

Caspian did as the marine said and joined the line along with the others in the line without making a sound, having the others with him had somewhat calmed Caspian's nerves but he was fearful of what was yet to come. Minutes passed and a figure of a man came into sight donning the same coat of justice as the proctor standing before Caspian and the man before he said "Sorry im late but i like to make a dramatic entrance, buhahaha!!" in a wheezy laugh, Caspian noticed the laugh and he had a revelation as he pointed to the marine as he said with a surprised tone "AH!!! Your the man who gave me directions!!"

The man than responded "hehehhe, hey you evil-eyed brat! Im glad you weren't stupid enough to get lost, thats a good sign but your gonna need more than good direction sense to pass this test! Well lets not beat around the bush, welcome applicants to the marine test!! Im Pathos and i will be your instructor along with this fine solider who i trained myself and now look at him! If you just so happen to pass this test and fall under my watchful eye i guarantee you ill train you until your blood and bone and maybe your be like this guy buahhahah!!"

Caspian and the some of the other men were all thinking the same thing while sweat-drops formed on their foreheads "How is this guy so full of energy...?" but were quickly interrupted by another applicant who arrived late and was yelling, but Caspian didn't notice as he was paying attention to Pathos who quickly went from his energetic attitude to a piercing glare and Caspian knew it was not a good sign.

Pathos yelled "WHO IS THIS BRAT ON MY FIELD WHO DARES COME LATE!!?

The man who arrived late than stops before saluting with a overconfident grin"Orion Miles Sir! The man who is gonna pass your marine test Sir!

Pathos then clicks his tongue before saying "A marine who cant even arrive on time has very little chance of making it you over-confident brat! Now get in line before i escort you out myself!

Pathos then  points to behind him where two marine's are standing with guns  with various little walls around them before continuing "Listen up! The test is simple, your  task is to hit those gunners without being shot within the next fifteen minute's and you will all get a chance one by one and get evaluated by yourself so you best try your best, Dont worry about the  bullets thought they are made of rubber material but there guarantee to cause a sting and a nasty mark. Good luck you brats buhahahha!!!"

Yet again the man known as Orion proudly proclaimed out loud"Ill be going first and passing first!! before sprinting off straight towards the gunners as they started shooting, Orion barely used cover but he seemed to be moving fast enough to evade almost every bullet as he pressed forward barely using the cover to his advantage. In a matter of four minutes he had reached the first gunner and hit him as the gunner let off his final shot also hitting Orion, he seemed to not notice as he was running on the adrenaline as he yelled out loud"I did it!!

Pathos then said without a trace of emotion "Thats enough out of you go report to the second proctor for your evaluation. Now for the rest of you!

And just as he said that the other man went one by one until there was only Caspian, to say the least his nerve's were getting the best of him that resulted in a very deep angry glare on his face which caused Pathos to smirk and chuckle in his wheezy laugh before saying "Whats wrong you evil-eyed brat? Surely your not too afraid to give it your best

Caspian knew he was taunting him but regardless of this knowledge it seemed to have worked as he snapped out of his worries and focused on passing as he said he would, he then got into a running stance signifying he was ready and Pathos waited a second before saying "Begin!

With those words Caspian sprinted forward as fast as he could and just as the gunner was about to shoot he did a roll dive to the left right behind a cover spot,Caspian knew that if he just run out he be shot at so he looked around and saw a stick and some discarded bullets on the ground he then grabbed both in his hand and had a idea.

The gunners watched for Caspian carefully but there was no sign until suddenly dirt had scattered up into the air clouding their visions as they started getting confused until a shadowy figure started moving forward, they immediately started shooting at the figure with their guns but as the smoke cleared it seemed to be Caspian's shirt tied around a snick that he throw foward to trick them.

Caspian himself had actually moved away to the front cover by crawling quickly against the ground and after they had spent some of their bullets he stood up quickly with the discarded bullet he picked up earlier and throw two both at the gunners as hard as he could, the bullets flew through the air hitting the two gunners and Pathos from the back yelled out "Stop!"

Caspian looked back at Pathos confused, he still had another seven minutes left so why was he stopped he thought. Pathos then whistled and all of the applicants and Caspian lined up again before  Pathos looked at each of them in the eye as the other proctor brought a box with the official uniforms and hats of the marine's in it.

Pathos then stated "well each of you took the test,but only some of you even managed to get close or shall i say specifically only two of you passed and those two are....Caspian and Satas!

The other applicants who hadn't passed sighed in disappointment as they walked off except Orion who stood there with a angry look before saying"Why?! Why didn't i pass?!!! I HIT THE GUNNER SO WHY IM A-

Before Caspian knew it he had been pinned down against the dirt by Pathos who also looked angry but on a whole other category of it before he said"Why this...why that shut up already, you want to know why you didn't pass? ill tell you its rather simple really. You were reckless by deciding to just straight up run to the gunners with barely taking cover, In a real battle you would have been pumped full of lead and endangered your fellow marines. We have no place for such reckless behavior! Pathos then got up as Orion slowly got up and left the area like the others without another word.

Pathos then turned his attention towards Caspian and Satas"Well you two, congratulations on passing your test we will not be rewarding you with your official marine uniforms. You are too report too your commanding officer which is also the other proctor starting tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck as a marine and remember that justice always finds a way!! DISMISSED!!!

Caspian and Satas stand up straight holding their uniforms in one hand as they both salute while yelling"SIR YES SIR! and begin to walk off, but suddenly Caspian feels like his shirt was tugged backwards and he see's out of the corner of his eyes it was Pathos.

He then smirks as he talks"Hold it you evil-eyed brat, starting tomorrow you are to report to me as i will be taking my time to train you especially as your commanding officer. I hope you get enough sleep because starting tomorrow im putting you thought hell. with those words Pathos starts laughing again before letting Caspian go.

Caspian doesn't say anything but bows in respect before running off but he is definitely smiling at the fact he passed as he makes his way out of the base, but just as he arrives at the entrance he see's Orion standing there and he comes to a stop.

Orion still looking angry looks at Caspian's uniform and hat before looking back up and saying "So you get to pass and you didn't even physically hit not one of them? What a load of shit, follow me ill teach you how a real marine is suppose to fight you coward"

Caspian didn't by any means have to accept his request but at the time he thought to himself that if he was too scared or unwilling to even handle a match like this then how could he survive as a marine, so Caspian looked up at Orion straight in the eye and said "I accept" causing Orion to smirk before they both walked off to a more private location.

After beginning to follow Orion for half a hour he led them to a human sized hole in a building before telling Caspian "Were going to fight in here you coward, i hope your prepared to realize just how unfit you are to be a marine."

Caspian didn't say anything back because he didn't feel the need to, after all the best way to communicate your feelings between man is through the clashing of fists. Once they got inside Orion walked three feet away from Caspian before turning around and getting into a battle stance, Caspian had no former battle experience but had gotten himself in alot of fights back at Water 7 in his youth  when it was necessary to survive. From those experience he was good at adapting in combat and was sure he could do it again.

Without another second wasted Orion had  begun running over to Caspian before raising his right leg for a side kick but Caspian quickly dodged before he grabbed Orion's leg and twisted it causing Orion to let out a painful grunt, Caspian then proceeded to throw his elbow down on his leg making the painful grunting sound from Orion even worse before he broke free with a pained yet angry face as he said " Ill definitely kick your ass you damn coward!! before using his hurt leg to spin around and kick Caspian straight in the stomach making him cough up from the pain and about to fall over.

Caspian then stomps his feet on the ground to regain his balance before lifting himself back up as hard as he can to counterattack Orion's kick with a left hook straight to his face as he yelled out "IM NOT A COWARD DAMMIT!!", causing Orion to fall to the floor from the sudden force of Caspian's punch to his face.

Caspian then continued "Who the hell do you think you are calling me a coward, im here risking my life to become a marine so i can protect someone i care about, what do you fight for? Why are you trying to become a marine"

Orion then grunted without saying a word,Caspian then closed his eyes as he turned his back and started walking towards the exit while saying  "As i thought, your here just to get yourself famous. What a selfish reason...there's no way,you can proudly carry the coat of justice like true marine on your back as you are.You should leave, and come back when you find something precious you really want.

As Caspian walked away Orion sat there shocked for a moment before something in him snapped and he nearly jumped up from the ground as he ran for Caspian as he throw up his right arm for rage filled unbalance punch to Caspian's back, Caspian hearing the loud footsteps bouncing off the old warehouse walls made him aware Orion was coming closer behind him and he turned around before Orion throw his punch allowing him to duck for  it.

Caspian then proceeded to kick Orion's right arm with a high kick with his left leg using his right arm for balance from below making him grunt in heavy pain as he held his arm and lost balance falling back, but Caspian wasn't done with him yet as he used the momentum of his body to   quickly switch hands as he now used his left arm to do a one handed spinning handstand on the ground before using the spin force to suddenly swing his right  leg down on the back of Orion's head  sending him head first into the ground.

As Orion's face heads straight first to the ground hitting it  hard enough that the impact knocks him out as a loud noise rings out in the warehouse, Caspian then says "You were really unfocused by my words, so i can tell you might be a good person at heart. As a favor i will let this one slide in hopes you reflect on what i said. Goodbye now"

Caspian then walked out of the warehouse leaving Orion there as he made his way back to Nanohana Marine base where tomorrow he would wake up and start his journey as a marine.
