First of all let me state that I respect your opinion and contribution to this community. It seems you have all done quite a lot for the sake of this community, and even as a simple member who joined a week ago, I most definitely respect that.
However, there's a pressing issue I simply can't ignore. And that is, your attitude as the collective staff team. Except a selected few who don't seem to represent the staff team at all, most of you are being rude for no apparent reason. And this, in my honest opinion, has to change.
It appears as if your attitude is hostile, especially towards new,
specifically non-staff members (not all new members, of course), for no apparent reason other than just being fed up or honestly tired of them (even though many people have just arrived in here). I'd love to name certain examples both from the discord server and from the site itself, but as long as it's not required, I'd like to spare that and have a healthy discussion with you about it. I'd like to say that as a new member, I'm honestly intimidated by it. I'm worried that I'm going to get mistreated for reasons I am not even aware of, as I've seen with other people.
Just a note or two to round things up, if I may.
I know dealing with new members all the time is annoying and tiring. I know it's nice to even laugh about some of them behind closed doors. I've been there, done that. Maybe not laughing about other members behind their backs, which, to my understanding, is a thing here, but I've definitely grown tired of dealing with new members. But you have to understand something. Again, not all of you, but those of you who I'm turning to are most definitely aware of that. If possible, I'd like to refrain from mentioning names. So, what you need to understand is that you are the public faces of this community. Your actions, just by being yours, define the pattern and unspoken (and spoken) laws and norms of this community. So if you're being rude for no apparent reason to a certain member, other members who have no idea about your motives would legitimize this action too. Which, in my honest opinion, is the worst possible outcome a community could suffer from.
I'd love to hear your comments in a healthy, respectful manner, just like I (hopefully) managed to do in this topic. It's important to mention that I am not interested in slamming those ideas and walking away, I do seriously intend to discuss this matter. I'm not interested in leaving this place.
Have a wonderful day!
EDIT: Both staff and members have reached out to me and calmly & professionally addressed my concerns, which I definitely respect. So I can say for sure that the hostility is not as pressing as I thought, though I do want to keep this topic on to listen to your opinions.
