The prologue.

Within the sands of Alabaster quite a distance away from the marine barracks the Roaring Lion which was lead by Commodore Roaringson and home to a total of 80 marines that often battled with each other in conflicts over food. Among those living, there was Victoria Z Xayah who had recently helped in the capture of a purse catcher as part of one of her early training tests. What no one could foresee however is this young purse sntacher was actually part of a large family; this family used to be fear across several islands for their swiftness of bringing communities to their knees and attacking marine establishments without regards for what that meant politically; what was far more fearing this group had yet to see conceive defeat once among their 300 battles; not to mention those who faced their wrath of victory would experience a hell that would shred through the curse of death. This group practices barbaric torture, decapitation and the molesting of the weak.

This group had remained dormant for several years as the leadership had decided it was time to retire from these tyrant ways of war; however several of the youth had heard the stories in how they used to be at the top of the food chain and simply wanted to have a taste of that lifestyle and had started committing petty crimes within alabaster. With the Barracks of the Roaring Lion capturing one of their sons the group rallied in anger and once again took up their blades under the leadership of their Dark Lord Magmus Marhn.

Groups Total battle force reaches into the huntress and consists of mounted archers, trained swordsman, spears and even have a variety of equipment designed for war. They live in a carved out mountain in the center of the desert which is well fortified; not to mention unless you knew it was there you wouldn’t notice anyone living there.

A Commodore  by the name of Lonefire Blossom sat upon his desk at the fortress outpost, as he spoke to Commodore Roaringson through a den den mushi. Hearts and minds?” Commodore Blossom laughed as he gazed at the new arrivals. Some expensive strawberry-scented wine sat within cups across the marble top table of his desk; picking up a glass he would take a sip “Really you say, Ha..I really doubt that, give them a week and they will be working for me”. His quarters were in one of the towers of the fortified outpost of Cherrilisa Blossom. The place was built by the same officer rumored to have built the black windows at the roaring Lion and as such was built to a fantastic degree of craftsmanship. Its name however was given by Commodore Lonefire Blossoms late father who had a bit of an ego problem. The garrison was manned by drop-out marines who failed to show any sign of promise while working under Commodore Roaringson or any other commander within Alabaster; in fact, Roaringson was talking to Blossom about how his new line-up showed a lot of promise.

Outside his officer Lonefire Blossom would have access to a lovely balcony with a view the stretch quite the distance and covered the entire outpost; the courtyard, the training fields not to mention the wall surrounding the place in a perfect circle. However, as the night draw closer it would become clear a dusk was settling over the outpost on this night and for some strange reason the den den mushis had stopped working. A mist would also encircle the outpost flowing from two sandbanks on either side, preventing even Lonefire from being able to see outside his own fortress. Having a strange feeling within his gut that something was off he would order the battle stations alarm bell to be rung as he made his way to the bottom of the tower “To arms everyone”. [Random Marine] Sir, what's with the alarm bell we aren't in danger of attack"  [Blossom] “This mist feels more like a snake wrapping around its pray; not to mention our communications seem to have been cut” [Another Random Marine] “He's just Paranoid” [Blossom] “Shut up Marine”. Blossom would hold his clock sloe to his chest as he gripped the hilt of his blade, and barrel of his gun with each hand respectively, as he attempted to stare into the mist to get any grasp to the situation.

The marines in this base had never faced conflict whatsoever and were incredibly ill-prepared for what was coming, however, Commodore Blossom wasn’t a Commodore for no reason “Men form lines and aim your rifles at the main entrance, and someone get that dam gate shut”!! He ordered with a firm tone and silver of fear. His men would reluctantly form lines waiting for further orders. The gate would then be closed and the marines waited with shields, swords, muskets and custom built barriers for something to happen yet nothing did and the last blink of light had faded; at this moment only the light of the flaming torches and blinking light bulbs would lit the came and still Commodore Blossom gut was telling him to hold position.  At that moment the main gate dropped from its hinges as arrows begin pelting through the surrounding mist and finding their marks, shredding through the un-armoured marines, the sound of galloping hooves accompanied the newly developed screams of pain echoing among those injured and those filled with the gene of cowards. [Blossom] “Raise shields, and places your muskets on top and Hold” [Random Marine]“Sir, we don’t fire back?” [Blossom] “Fire back now and your only hit air, and open us all up for a major assault.

For one hour the marines would find themselves hiding behind shields unable to see their enemy as arrow after arrow was launched at them, most would miss, hit the shields or something skim the side of a marines uniform, however, several would make it through.  15 marines would lay dead before the enemy gave up on their hit and run tactics; blossom could start to see the shapes of figures appear in the mist, Lines of men wielding sharp spears, swords and other unique bladed equipment and it was clear they were armored. [Blossom] “Right men they are coming”. Waiting for the moment the first enemy combatant cross the line of the entrance gate Commodore Blossom would order his men to fire. Metal bulls would fly from the rifles and strike the enemy, while the armor was too strong to do any damage several bullets would find themselves flying through the cracks and dropping their targets dead.

Commodore Lonefire Blossom would lead his men in valiant effort to defend this outpost and his men live however he would fail completely; every marine would be killed with either an arrow through them, a sword decapitating them or a spear removing their heart or for the bulk of those who remained to the very end suffocation through the burning tower of which blossom had spent most of his life working.  While the Commodore and his marines lay dead with their blood painting the ground they did manage to take a significant amount of the enemy with them, not to mention being able to release a carrier bird to get a message to Commodore Roarinson of the situation.

The fight would be long and hard; with the marines retreating little by little as they constantly traded lives for time with their final retreat being into the tower of Lonefire Office. At this point it seemed they were gaining the advantage but alas despite forming a perfect defense the enemy forces had access to siege weaponry and simply put the tower on fire. Death by fire or death by steel was their last choice before they died.

“Letter to Roarinson”

Written in the blood of Commodore Lonefire Blossom who had single-handedly killed 42 enemy fighters.
“Dear friend i regret to inform you that I am no longer with you, sorry no time for a well written goodbye. The Dark Marhn’s are back and here in force….Evacuate the country and call for reinforcements”....... Godd spedbtye. “

The corpse of the marines would be used to create scarecrows outside the outpost remains, most of which would be burnt down.

It was 3 am in the mourning and the sun was down, the moon was gone and it was almost pitch black outside; inside faint candles lit the barracks.

The letter arrives through an open window of the Roaring Lion barracks and makes its way to Commodore Roaringsons office table; moments later bells would be ringing throughout the entire barracks as the alarms were ringing not to mention the eyes of Roaringson were singing. Tears of pain were starting to flow steadily from his eyes uncontrollably. No one really remembered the procedure of what this alarm meant, however, they would all naturally treat this as a very serious matter; not once in the lifetime of a single marine stationed at this barracks was this alarm ever rang; not to mention Roaringson was the type to use situations to train his recruits not to enforce the military power of the barracks. Victoria would be one of the first marines onto the main floor and would take this opportunity to approach the Commodores office.

Victoria would open the door and find herself gazing at the silhouette of Commodore Roaringson and could fully grasp the vision of tears following down his face; she didn't know the situation but understood not just the seriousness of the matter but to its personal nature to Commodore Roaringson who had just lost his oldest friend. The Commodore was unlocking a cabinet within his office which contained a silver rapier with a golden hilt. Victoria Z Xayah would turn to face the marines coming down as he eyes opened wide with an intense focus and firm sturdiness of importance within her voiceRight everyone, gather your armaments and form ranks outside..” everyone would hesitate for a moment “IMMEDIATELY!” the marines would listen to the orders of Victoria and began moving everything from the armoury outside. This would Include Cannons, Muskets, siege crossbows, and much much more. Victoria had decided to take the lead in order to grand Roaringson to process the information and to gather his thoughts. [Roaringson] “Victoria, please come in and close the door” [Victoria] “Yes Sir” [Roaringson] “Thank you for that gesture, but i don’t need mercy from my subordinates” [Victoria] “Not to be rude sir, but shut up; don’t treat my act as one of mercy were friends” [Roaringson] “Right I apologize; oh can you go and collect my shield from the ship parked in the harbour” Victoria would raise her eyebrow and say in a confused and somewhat angry tone [Victoria] “Sir, don’t disrespect me. I’m a marine and i don’t know whats coming but I’m taking part”.  She new he didn't own a shield.

20 minute later the marines would finish emptying the armory and would be in formation outside; waiting for information. Victoria would be standing in line with the rest of them as Commodore Roaringson and Captain snotnose would stand side by side facing the recruits.

David
David walked the great halls of the Alabastian Palace, silken robes hugged his large middle aged frame. His muscles bulged obviously under the robe, despite the robe very much attempting to be as baggy as it wished David's frame would not allow to escape his glorious body. He idly rubbed the large blonde beard that covered his jaw line and lip, the beard falling all the way down to his stomach trimmed and combed to absolute perfection. He had cared very deeply for his beard, as only a strong warrior of Elbaf could. David had walked the halls of the Palace aplenty in the last ten years he had been here, serving his king. A ten years well spent to David. Approaching a pair of large doors, David pushed them open with both hands and walked into the grand throne room. The only ones that occupied the room were four figures, three at the base of the steps to the throne, one occupying the throne with a scroll in his hands. The man on the throne looked up, a happy forming upon his face, to which David was beginning to match, before ringing reached his ears.

David jolted awake, breathe in panicked breathe's with his heart beating unhealthily fast for someone of his age as the alarms of the base blared out from around David. It took a moment of David's eyes flicking around to take in his surroundings did he remembered where he was, Inside of the marine base he was to be stationed until he was called by Commodore Ricchi for further orders. With a large intake of breathe, David would lay his head back and breathe out a relaxed sigh. Moving his right hand up to his face, he would rub his temple before moving the rubbing hand down the left side of his face, the burns that resided there no longer hurt and it simply relaxed him for some reason to rub them. Turning his head, which resided on a large piece of cloth normally used as a sail, to the left would allow David to see his Helmet which resided on the sand beside him. Lifting his left arm, David would grab the helmet with his left hand and lift it by its top. Sitting up with a grunt of effort, David turned his head forward and placed the Helmet on his head. Without looking, David would grab his bow which resided on top of his quiver filled with arrows to his right before passing it to his left hand, and move it off the quiver. With practiced ease, David lifted his quiver off the ground and fit his right arm through it. The quiver slid down his arm until it hit his shoulder and jostled the arrows inside. Grabbing the quiver's strap with his right, he would lift it up and over his head. Adjusting the clasp with one hand and David was ready for battle.

With his right hand on the ground, David would lift himself to one knee, before, with a loud grunt of effort, stood to his full height of 47ft easily standing over the walls of the marine base which only came up to the bottom of his stomach. With not but his eyes, David would scan the surroundings of the base. pulling an arrow from the quiver on his back, he would pull out an arrow of the quiver and rest it on his bow, ready to be knocked and fired within moments. The Darkness did happen David more then he cared for, but his night vision was something he hadn't lost with his old age...Granted it wasn't nearly as strong as it used to be. David stood there as the sirens and marines ran around him, Though David gave them no pause as he continued to sweep his gaze across the sands surrounding the base. David made a small note of those that were forming in the courtyard. Storing the arrow he drew back into his quiver, David took a step towards the group of forming Marines, placing his foot right beside the group, though still three meters away from the assembled Marines. Kneeling down on one leg, David leaned down with his right fore arm on his right knee, ready to push upwards to respond to any attack, something he still didn't see coming as he could still look over the base's walls.

"What is happening?" David asked the group of gathered and armed marines in his low grumble of a voice. David, unlike many ensigns who had reached the rank, had very little familiarity with marine signals. Whether it is an alarm of invasion, or a flare to signal someone needing rescue, David had little to zero knowledge of any such things. So, the fact an alarm was going off, yet no enemies or seemingly natural disasters were happening, made David a very confused giant. Alas, his question wouldn't get answered straight away, as an officer stepped outside of the base.

Caphalor, Xin and Sinthoras  are playing a card game called Pesten.  They are playing with 2 other marines who lived on the same wing as us. Their names are Dwight Park and Quentin Smith. Everyone is looking at their cards in their hands. Caphalor was a bit pissed as Xin places a joker on the pile of cards that is supposed to be for Quentin who laughs and throws the other joker in his hand on the pile. Caphalor does not have a counter care like a 2 and as both jokers are already used by now their is no chance for me to do anything. Tis forces me to draw 10 cards from the deck. I now have 13 cards in my hand and not much that would help me so i just place an 8 of spades up as most of the cards in my hand were spades at the moment. Punishing Dwight for the damage the other two did to him. So it now is Sinthoras his turn. THe 8 means that the turn of the next player would be skipped. Just as Sinthoras wants to show off his combo to get rid of all his cards in this one single turn the alarm goes off. As we learned from our lessons when we were just recruited we knew what it meant. THe entire dorm starts running outside gathering at the courtyard. Out group is lined up  even before the other group of marines who clearly were out of practice. It is clear that not much happens at this station.

When all 80 marines are lined up and even a giant marines joins  the group what makes some of the marines look up at the guy for a moment. They are amazed and feel safe having a strong big gant like David on their side. Their is not much time to stare at teh giant for them as Captain Snotnose asks for everyone to be quiet followed up with a big loud sneeze. The snot  flies in the faces of the older marines. The new marines learned about the snot waves of Captain Snotface and made sure to stand out of his range. It gets quiet and Commandre Raoringson clears his throath loud into the speaker.
His hands are shaking and his face looks less strong as the fur on his cheecks is still wett from his tears earlier. He is not his usual self and that means that what he is about to say is really important.

Everyone... He takes a moment of silence to push himself to think straigth with the task at hand. The outpost has fallen. They are all dead. That means that the enemy made it through and is on their way here. It will take them probably 3 days from now until they will stand at our front door. We need to be well prepared and that everyone works as hard as they can and be on your best preformance. We all will need to fight as hard as we can to survive. For our new alies who joined us I will tell you about the enemy. The enemy is also known as The Mharnolians and their fearless leader Dark Lord Magmus Marhn. He and his army have NEVER lost a fight. At the moment they have won over 300 wars without losing. LEt US make history and stand strong right here!! Lets become legends and be the ones who are the first who will defeat this army!!! NOW GO PREPARE YOURSELF!!! Make sure everythign is ready and if you can make sure their is more stuff like traps and other things to slow down the enemy and reduce their numbers and oh make sure you get enough rest and sleep because it will be a logn fight and you will need all your energy. Now go!

With these words the marines are dismissed and start to get to work preparing for the fight as well as comming up with ideas like trap hole's, barricades, spikes etc.

While Commodore Roaringson had planned to go on the defensive with the coming war, he would receive a call from a high officer; this call would give him the order to go on the offensive. The marines would need to travel the desert to meet the enemy and if possible locate the enemy stronghold. If Roaringson would fail it would smark the fire of a much larger conflict between the Marines and Mharnolians and this wasn’t to happen and as such Commodore would speak into the Barracks Com system “RIGHT, THINGS HAVE CHANGED; WE WILL BE ATTACKING THE ENEMY HEAD ON, PREPARE TO MOVE OUT IN 5 MINUTES TAKE EVERYTHING

10 minutes later;

The marines would be beginning their journey into the desert carrying all sorts of equipment including artilitary, more ammo for the giant, guns, swords, equipment to make quick defensible positions including anything that was portable on the new created trap arsenal. The journey would take a total of 1 hour not including any issues along the way. Victoria would be carrying her own equipment along with helping in the forward momentum of one of the wheel carts by pushing it from its back.  As the sun began to raise the heat within the desert would begin to rise as well in fact today would be one of the hottest days in the current year of alabaster; Several marines would rip the selves of their uniforms in order to create protective headgear to protect themselves from the sun, meanwhile Commodore Roaringson would go around handing out cream to prevent sunburn, it was during this timeframe that Roaringson would proceed through the stages of grief into Denial as thoughts of his dear friend somehow surviving began to enter his mind.

The Mharnolians would take this time to return to their own base to restock on supplies, as they rode on horseback through the desert; the group had no idea that Commodore Roaringson would be leading his forces to meet them and as such most of their equipment would be seige or offensive based thus when the two forces would meet they would have no choice but to go on a full out assault. [Dark Lord Magmus]“RIGGGHT MEN, THEY HAVE KIDNAPPED OUR SON, Disrespected our History and We Have declared War in response, BUT AS YOU KNOW” [His men] “Whattttt!”  [Magmus] One does not SIMPLY DECLARE WAR [His men] “WHATTTT” [Magmus] “THEY MAKE IT, THEY TAKE IT AND THEY CRUSH THEIR FOES”. [His Men] “YES YES YES YES] [Magmus]“We are going to take their throats, drink their Blood and bave with their CORPSE, Burn down their Barracks and TAKE THEIR CITY”...[His Men] “YES, YES, NOOOOOOOOOOO, YESSSS,,,,, MAYBE

And as such the Mharnolian army would set off on horseback, pulling wagons filled with a range of offensive equipment including their storm creator designed to single out enemy bases. The lines would be drawn between the two forces very soon as the battle of the twisting sands was soon to begin.

30 minutes later
The War of Twisting Sands { Grand Voyage } 134542191222

Victoria Z Xayah would place her gun on the socket of the armoured beast, as she hanged from his ear and fired; but alas the beast would close his eye protecting itself from the bullet of Victoria gun; however her weight was starting to have some impact on his running direction as the beast continue to run in a circle around the main marine force. Two other marines had found their way onto this beast wielding two sabers however they were barely hanging on to its tail.  Cannons had in fact been fired into the mouths of several of these beasts already, leaving them dead on the ground.

The marine force had in fact been engaged by a swarm of large armored desert Hyena, the group, in fact, had been disturbed by the attack on the outpost and the nature of the storm creator device that was used, the Marines were simply the first humans the animals would find. The fight had already been going on for about five minutes with no marine casualties or injuries, in fact, several of the beasts had already had fallen but still, 8 remained; and with every defeat they suffered, they grew smarter adapting to the Commodores tactics to the point nothing worked more than three times. [Victoria] “Right, their Eyelids are armored two… we need to find more Squishy locations”. She would say shouting to the two marines wielding sabers on the beast she was on the tail.

David
David followed along with the commodore's words with head nods every now and then, the man's plan was a sound one though the fact it was barely passed midnight probably did not help matter very well. Most of the marines not on night's watch would be tired and exhausted by being woken up so late at night, now being told to prepare defenses? This did not spell well for Moral or combat effectiveness. David was no general, but even he understood soldiers to tired stand were too tired to fight. Even less so if those same troops were not feeling particularly battle ready.

David withdrew from his thoughts to ask the Commodore about such things but as he did he noticed a key thing. Everyone was already gone and doing their orders. With a sigh and a run on the top of his helmeted head, David rose to his full height and went to talk to the quarter master, He needed to sort out what he was to do with his arrows. Them taking up space and not being used, they could most definitely make for good spike. Though after just finding the quarter master, the news of the change of plans caused David to sigh once more before going to collect his things.

--------------------------

Walking through the desert was nothing new to David, having spent more then a few years on the island has given him plenty of experience with the heat. Which is to say, block it from your mind and you will hardly notice it. To David, this simply meant to go into deep thinking while walking. Hardly a problem for one such as he, having spent the better part of fifty years simply sitting and thinking he had pretty much mastered the art of deep thinking. Not to say he wasn't affected by the heat. He precipitated as much as anyone, he could simply block such things from his mind by not acknowledging them. David adjusted his shoulders where he had the better part of the marine's heavier equipment, mostly the cannons, on his back covered by a large sheet to cover them from the hot sun's rays. This in turn covered David's back and his left shoulder, though very few else leaving him in nothing but his normal armor. The only reason he wasn't being boiled alive in his armor was the fur lined insides which insulated him from he heat particularly well. Though that was neither here nor there. The makeshift pack David had on was what had the Marine's heavy artillery along with its ammo, as such was important for the coming battle. David's job was to protect it, though there wasn't much to protect it from in the desert. Most things out here would not attempt a fight with a giant. None the less, David kept an eye out with his bow at his side. It was the least he could do for the convoy, even if he did it idly and not looking particularly hard. His thoughts preoccupying him more then enough.

----------------------------------

Five minutes. Five minutes was when the fight started. Twenty from when he gave out the call of the approaching horde. fifteen since he debriefed the Commodore of what the enemy was. Ten from when the cannon's were fully loaded and ready for the incoming enemy. The herd of twenty was cut down to 9 in the ensuring charge from the Hyena's. David's arrow's killing those he hit, no matter where they made their mark, armored or not. Now in time however, David was having problems. As soon as the battle commenced two of the large Armored Hyena's leap at David, all being only as tall as David's knee meant they had plenty of room they needed to leap to go for a giant's jugular. Didn't phase the hyena's any. Two leap straight into his chest with enough force that the sea train would of been proud. With a loud grunt, David had fallen onto his back, the marines in the area having seen him falling and cleared out before the impact.

That was how David found himself in the position of the two Hyena's attempting to rip his throat out, though they had a hard time doing so. They were not the only ones armored on this day. Not to mention that David's was armor made for a giant. They could do very little to it. Didn't stop them from clawing into his exposed flesh with their claws however. David currently held off one attacker with his fist in its mouth, his gauntlet protecting him from the gnashing teeth that were very enthusiastic at attempting to chew his hand off. The other one had David's forearm at its throat, blocking it from getting any closer.

David was running out of time to retaliate. He couldn't keep these two off him much longer, their natural strength and their weight being enough to continue to batter at him until his arm's failed him. Of course, they weren't the only strong one around here. For what in this world was stronger then a giant? Pulling his fist back towards the ground, his fist coming out of the hyena's mouth. The Hyena which, with the intrusion gone, was now going for his shoulder and tear out his flesh. It barely didn't make it on account of David's fist coming back and striking it straight in the throat, throwing it off of him... For now anyway. Now with one distraction gone for the moment, David focused on the other. putting his other hand on his forearm, he pushed. The hyena was forced two steps back before it attempted its assault again, only this time David was prepared. Instead of the Hyena charging him once more, David stopped it before it returned to its previous position by catching its less armored throat in his right hand which he held tightly and stopped its dead in its tracks. Sitting up quickly, David's left hand would come to his front like a boxing hook, and catch the other Hyena, who had recovered by now, in the throat as well. With both of his attack in hand, David rose to a kneeling position, both of the hyena's writhing in his grasp for escape. Raising both up into the air, David slammed the one in his left hand first, followed  by the one in his right while he raised the left one. On the first slam, the took internal damage. On the second their neck's snapped. On the third, the were well and truly dead.

Leaving the corpses where they were slammed into the sand, David grabbed his bow, which was to his left where it had fallen, and stood. Grasping it with both hands, David held it like one with a bat. Looking around the battle field, David would note the 6 hyena's left. Hefting his bow high into the air, David would run forward and bring it down upon a Hyena which was about to eat a brave or foolish marine who was attempting to reload a cannon. David's strike, however, only managed to stun the hyena for a quick moment, one the marine used to run off. Raising his foot , David would slam it down with his full weight of 46 thousand pounds. He squashed like one would a bug. Looking up once more, David would yell "Their under belly is the weakest! It has no armor covering!" David's yell was easily loud enough to cover the battle field, alerting the marines to the enemies' weakness. Then David turned to the continued battle, to find his next target.

Soon after the command to build up our defences we get diffrent orders. Instead of defending we would go into the offensive. The defense preparations that are done would be an decent enough defence atleast for the civilians if they would be defated. Junst incase the civilains would want to take up the weapons themself. The army of the enemy is also known for their terroizing fashing at taking over enemy towns and villages. They are not friendly at all. Caphalor and Sinthoras finish with what they were doing before starting to prepare to march and fight the enemy.

Then the moment comes and together with all the marines of The Roaring Lion including commandre Roaringson and captain Snotnose. The volunteering town guard is and their leader is left behind. That is for 2 reasons. The main reason is that they are volunteering cevilians and that they are only trained in defending. On the battlefield they would only be in the way. I wave at all the civilians that came to wave us goodbye. Sinthoras would take a moment to look at all the young woman but not too long to look like a pervert. He looks like a normal normal man would do. That means not like Mcro adn his friends.

Not much later I find myself in sweating and using my cap to protect my eyes against the bright sun. Its good that we have plenty of water with us. The marines really needed it. We are used to the shadows of the houses in the tight streets. The streets in Alabasta are thigther then on other places to create a shadow. With all this protection agaisnt the sun it is a bit tougher for them. While we are on our way we encounter a enemy but not the enemy we are looking for. Its a new kind of enemy I have never heard about before. They are big and look like a big hyena's. What makes them look diffrent then the smaller version I know is their armor. It must have some other function then just combat. The armor probably also helped these beasts against the heat like a camel  with a shield maybe?

The several hyena's do not seem to care about being outnumbered nor do they fear the unknown. They attack! Unfortunantly for them they would learn soon enough what it means to mess with the human race and a giant. They are fast and catch our giant David off guard nailing him flat on the ground. It is good that he is wearing his armor. It protected him against an otherwise guaranteed death. Some marines move in to try and help him because losing him befor ethe war even had begun would hurt their army and the moral of the troops. The giant seems to be able to hold hois own killing the two attackers and quickly crushing a thrid soon after.

Meanwhile Caphalor and Sinthoras are fighting one together. It is good he brought his throwing knives. He wanted to throw them but the comment of Victoria about armored eyelids stops him. This changes their strategy. Together they prepare a tactic. Sinthoras runs off leaving Caphalor is left all alone with the best. The beast starts running after Caphalor. With his agility he is able to dodge the 1st attack. The attack gives me the oppertunity to get some distance. He leads the hyena away from the troops. The Hyena runs after me. Caphalor knows he can not outrun it so he decides to use jukes. The Hyena jumps forward thinking it can catch Caphalor but he turns around and rolls underneath the creature. The sudden change of direction throws it off balance. The creature starts to get angry at the small slippery meat. The hyena slides over the sand to change direction. Sand flys up covering its sight giving Caphalor an oppertunity tha he uses. With precision he throws an knife and hits the Hyena in its left eye. It makes a loud noise of pain and anger. It starts running after Caphalor again not caring about anythign else but him. Caphalor runs up a sand hill with the Hyena near him. It gets closer and closer but then the unexpected happens. While the Hyena is running up the sandhill to follow his prey Sinthoras appears from under the sand beneath the Hyena with his spear up. The Hyena runs straight into it. Sinthoras presses the button on his spear to activate the mechanism. The spear point is shot deeper in its body allwing the spear to pierce through its heart and lungs. The air pressure blows away some of the flesh creatign abigger hole. The hyena struggles for a few more minutes before it rolls over and dies. Caphalor returns to the corpse and pulls out the knife to retrieve it. After that they run back to the others to see how they are doing. When we return their are only 2 hyena's remaning. One is killed by commandre Roaringson and captain Snotnose who seem to be a really strong team. The other marines managed to kill another hyena.

Victoria
With only two Hyenas remaining this warm-up of a fight was nearly over and while it was a challenge, not something the marines couldn't handle it would seem. The remaining two were quite separated and as such easy to attack as a united unit. The first would be surrounded by several marines including the Commodore who would simply release a grin at the beast as he winked before charging with several other marines including snotnose meanwhile the last Hyena would be circling the entire encampment with Victoria Z Xayah still holding onto its ear with her pistol in hand, and one other marine holding onto its tail armed two sabers in his right hand.  Five minutes ago he had kicked off a 2nd marine who was struggling emotionally with the conflict and stole his sword. The fallen marine would fall off at speed and continue to bounce several times before rolling down a sandhill.

"You really are an asshole, you know that" Victoria would say with a somewhat annoyed tone with a touch of bitterness within her words. "Shut up, he would have ended up eater".  Victoria eyes would open wide as small veins within her eye began to show as her anger towards this Marine was growing with every moment that passed; as the two of them continued to ride this Hyena. "Oh Really you say, I got the impression he was quite good at his job considering he held onto this things Tail for quite some time" Victoria would say in a deep intense voice as thoughts of shooting this Marine in the leg entered her mind. The Marine could tell how serious Victoria was about his actions to the point within his next words even the Hyenda felt the trembling fear sprouting from the marine as he spoke. "I apologize" The fear would become somewhat contagious as it spread from the Marine into the last remaining Hyena and it wasn't unfounded. At this moment Victoria would redirect all the anger that was building inside her and direct it into the Hyena. Using the barrel of her gun like a lever she thrusts it hard into the tiny gap a closed eyelid would provide while also using her head to try to push it up to get the barrel room.  Eventually, the Hyenda would open its eye only to have the vision of the Victoria Z Xayah fury staring right back *BANG*.

As the Hyena fell to the ground it understood who Victoria Z Xayah was.
With all the Hyenda now defeated Victoria would take a deep breath to calm herself down as the Marine sprinted off under the assumption it wasn't safe to be around Victoria at this moment. Under the orders of Commodore Roaringson, the marines would regroup and check the equipment and take a few moments to recharge their batteries for the fight to come.  Once everyone had collected themselves and had adequate time to regain stamina they would continue their travels across the desert to fight a much more dangerous battle.

Just outside of normal visual range the Mharnolian was steadily approaching solo. Their force consisted of a large cavalry unit of over 80 men, an even larger infantry unit of over 100 spears, swords, and bows not to mention their access to siege equipment being pulled on the back of horse-driven wagons.  Leading this army would be the vanguard of Dark Lord Magmus Marhn which would contain 8 skilled fighters on horseback each with their own unique armor, weapons and fighting style; this includes Dark Lord Magmus Marhn Himself.

The fight of the twisting sands begins.

David stood back up with his bow back into his two handed grip, ready to charge any of the other hyena's that had remained. Though as he did the last of the two hyena's were separated and killed by the remaining marines. Letting go of a long breathe, David would look across the marines who were wearily going about gathering the supplies and items that were strewn about due to the battle. While idly going and pulling his arrows out of the corpses of the fallen Hyena's David would reflect on the state of the marines. The marines for all that the moral had boosted from killing the horde of beasts, were not in good enough condition to fight anything more. The grueling pace they've been setting since 3am was obviously having an affect on the men, most not standing up from where they lay in the sands from exhaustion, as they attempted to regain some form of energy. David himself was also starting to feel fatigued, while David could walk from Alubarna to Nanohana with very little problem, the fact he had to awaken so early along with the battle he just fought where he had to put plenty of strength into it, meant he was going to become just as tired soon enough. They needed to stop and make camp.

Before David could even begin to move and confront the Commodore, the orders were yelled out and spread to all of the troops. The men, many of who with groans of exhaustion and weariness, stood and started to follow the orders. Once again, David was foiled due to his long thought process. Though that wasn't going to cause him to take no action. With large steps, David made his way to the Commodore Roaringson.

Finding the Commodore wasn't hard, he was talking to some marine who had a clip board and seemed to be discussing something. "Commodore Roaringson, a moment of you time if you would." David spoke, his voice carrying across the entirety of the caravan, though that was more because of how his voice naturally was then him having any intentions of telling everyone he wanted to speak with the Commodore. The marine with the clipboard saluted the commodore and walked away, flipping through the pages as he did so. The commodore only nodded to the marine with the clipboard before turning and looking up at the approaching giant. Arriving at the Commodore's location, David would take a seat a goof five meters away from the man, so as to not crush him and make it easier to speak to him. In a cross legged position, David would set his bow to the side so he would not need to hold it. "I wish to ask that you belay that previous order, Sir. The troops are to tired to continue on. We have been setting a grueling pace since long before the sun began to rise and now that we engaged a pack of armored Hyena the troops are to exhausted to properly fight anything we next encounter. Quite frankly, it would be, in my opinion, an apt choice to make camp and allow the troops to sleep and eat and regain their strength." David would motion to the marines who were still sluggish in their movements putting together the caravan once more. "I understand the need to apprehend this 'Dark Lord' but if we met them in combat at this moment we would most likely be beaten. Even I, as a giant, am started to become tired of the pace and fighting, and general lack of sleep." Nodding his head, David would continue. "Thus, my request that we make camp until night to recover, Sir." David would finish, Inclining his head to the Commodore to his thoughts upon David's request. Something David wished he would agree to, else exhaustion would start claiming lives faster then this 'Dark Lord' would.

After the fight with the Hyena's a lot of people are tired. Caphalor and Sinthoras on the other hand are full of energy. That is because of the adrenlinea nd excitement after their first fight as a marine. At first we get the command to pack ourstuff and contineau marching. We didnt lose anyone during the fight. Their are some injuries but with some rest everyone should be able to fight. After the commandre Roaringson gave the order to contineau walking the giant David would ask premision to speak. Not just for his own sake but for that of everyone else. After he finishes his sentence all marines stop with what they are doing. They look at the two individuals. Deep in their heart they are all rooting for this friendly giant while whiping the sweat of their brow. Roaringson listens carefully to the giant and his request. After David is done talking it gets really quiet for a while. For several minutes it is really quiet. Everyone can feel the tension in the air.

Raoringson returns back down to earth. The loss of his friend had a lot more impact then he had thougth. It really got to him. All he wanted was revenge. He did not care at all who or what had to be sacriviced for it. Anythignt that happened after he heard about the bad news was one blur. Now that is diffrent. This friendly giant brought him back to his senses. He takes a moment to look around. He does see how tired his troops are. He feels somewhat bad for his thinking process lately. He realises againt hat these man and woman and this giant are his responsebility. They were following him to their potential death. Captain Snotnose appears behind him with a giant snot bubble hanging on his nose. Captain Snotnose places an arm on his shoulders. Roaringson snaps out of it. "Alright we will rest in a moment. Lets set our camp up behind the sand hill infront of us. Then we will take shelter, eat and drink while we rest. Its getting late anyway."

Every marine cheers loud. Some of them even walk over to David thanking him for his bravery. After their time with Raoringson at The Roaring Lion most of the marine recruits are too scared to even talk to the man. Today David is their true hero. The marines move as fast as they can to the sandhill Roarinson mentioned. Then they all start setting up tents. Bonfires are being made and the food is been carried off the carts. The sun is setting and slowly goes down when the preparations are done. The marines gather around the burning bonfires while they prepare the food while they make jokes and laugh to forget for a moment about why they were here. This might be their last day. Tomorrow when the war they might not be alive to see sun go down again. The marines brought enough food for everyone. That means that even the giant David will get enough food and drinks to fill his stomach.

Caphalor, Sinthoras, Xin and Leona are sitting around a bonfire near their tents. Their is enough room for more people but some of them are too scared to get ner those 4 weird new recruits. Xin brought a pan with him and some butter. He throws the butter in the pan and waits untill it melts. Then he fills the pan with sausages, bell peppers, onions and several other vegtables. The smell of tasty food fill the air. Removing the tention in the air from before. The four of them do not mind and make the best of the situation but at the moment it is quiet. All 4 of them are looking at the pan Xin is holding waiting untill the food is ready to be served. Sinthoras breaks the silence. "This reminds me of last time. What about you three. Do you remember the last time we were sitting at a bonfire?" Leona responds: "The last time we were in the woods. I rather not think of that again with all the nasty bugs and spiders eww" . Xin laughs , "You are too used to your luxury Leona. It was a lot of fun to see you so frightened over a couple of bugs. You were screaming so loud!!" Caphalor and Sinthoras laugh out loud. Caphalor screeches loud that is supposed to be an immitation of Leona. She gets up angry from her seat to walk over towhere caphalor is sitting. Caphalor saw her comming and quickly gets up too. "Stand still you!! Let me punish you. I will cover you with bruises that match your stupid skin colour!!!" All 3 guys laugh even louder as Leona chases Caphalor who runs circles around the bonfire keeping it between himself and LeonaThey keep running for a bit until Xin takes the pan of the fire. The food is ready and it looks like that calms the two downas they return to their seat to eat. Caphalor grabs his fork and knife to start eating. Leona is unrelenting. Before Caphalor can react she is able to whip him on both his hands with her leather whip. It leaves a mark and the pain forces me to open my hand dropping my cutlery. They are covered in sand now. This would make the food less ejoyble. To make matters worse she even snatches his sausage from his plate while Caphalor is picking up his cutlery. Leona has a cruel evil smile on her face while she takes the sausage in her mouth and takes a bite. "And you are still as dumb and blind as you have always been Caphalor. Just like last time you lost all your food to me. " ""That was because I did not know you yet. It still was a great night and if it all goes like last time then I might steal a second kiss from your lips! " Sinthoras and Xin look suprised at Caphalor then back at Leona who is suddenly really calm and blushing a little. Sinthoras would ask the question Xin was thinking off but didnt dare asking. "How ? What happened that night that we missed!! Why did you never say anything about that to me until now!" Leona then opens her mouth filled with food pointing at Caphalor. Food is sprayed in Xin's face who is sitting next to her while she tries to talk. "GhmahmamDon't v jivnw[on[enw Saaauy cncjpj A vwncgrm Thrrinuhmng!!!!" "Oh come on Leona they want to know. Its not that bad besides you are a really good kisser." "Really? Do you mean it?" Caphalor nods. "Oh please tell us what happened!!" Xin is really curious and does not hide it. Leona swallows the food in her mouth. "Fine tell them we might all die tomorrow anyway." With thsese words Xin and Sinthoras turn to Caphalor.

"Okay it all started after we all went to bed after extinguishing the bonfire. Everyone was sleeping in their sleepingbags. Well not everyone. I was struggling to sleep. I was trying but well it just did not happen. So the next one or two hours i am laying awaye in my sleeping bag. Still being awake I decided to get up. I needed some fresh air. I didn't want to wake up anyone else. So slowly and as quiet as possible I liftedmyself up to take the zipper. Slowly I pull on it. Further and further the zipper went until the end. Slowly I moved the sleepingbag off me to get up. I then crawled towards the exit openingthe tent. Finally being outside I get up on my two feet. I put on my shoes and then enter the woods. Above me the nightsky was filled with starts and their was a bright full moon. As I kept walking I eventally got to the lake. I do not know if the two of you remember but a bit further their was a ledge we played at the day beforejumping from a heigth into the water. That is where I saw Leona. At that moment I did not know. I just saw some figure in the distance sitting on the ledge. At first I thougth it was something liek big foot or a creature. I would sneak closer and closer to the ledge. I took a branch near me in both hands and walk closer. I was walking on my toes as I was sneaking closer and closer. Then as usual in every horror story an unfortinate branch broke under my feet. The figure turned around. I was scared and wanted to scream. Leona was really fast and covered my mouth with her hand. She said: Shhh its me. Quiet don't wake the others. You couldn't sleep either I gues? Its fine just join me on the ledge. Without complainign I would follow her and take a seat next to her. Then we both were looking at the moon and the stars. As time passes the moment started to turn magical. Suddenly the sky was filled with falling stars. While they were falling it all happened. It just went automatically. Like an impulse we were looking at eachother. We moved closer and closer to eachother and then our lips found eachother for a kiss. I do not remmeber for how long because it felt like a long time in the heat of the moment. Then she uhm suddenly started cryign and left. I do not remmeber why tho. Later I found out why but I will not tell why. That is between me and herbut she made me promise to keep it a secret until now. It wasa magical kiss and that is the story of me and Leona's kiss."

Later that night Caphalor would be sturggeling to sleep again. He would get up and find a sandhill for his own where hewould start crying his eyes out. The story reminds him of the real story and what really happened. It was actually the other way around. He switched their roles. It was Leona who found him and he was the one who kissed her and who cried that night. He missed his old girlfriend Enoïla. This exact date was the same as the day I was abducted and split from Enoïla for 3 years. Just like last year Leona joins me. She would take a seat next to me and wrap a arm around me wich was followed by a kiss. Just like last time. "It seems you were right earlier. Here is the 2nd you mentioned. Im here for you just like Xin and Sinthoras if you need anyone Caphalor". All other things that happen that night would be their secret and never be spoken off.

Over the course of the passing hours, Victoria would find herself battling with her emotions, her emotions bubble to the surface during the battle with the Hyenae's as another thread to her faith of the Marines and what they stood for snapped. Victoria had successfully directed her bursting anger into one of the Hyena’s but it hasn't settled the matter entirely but in fact, caused Victoria to go into deep thought. While everyone would get some rest, have some fun or generally make more productive usages of their time Victoria would isolate herself.  Finding herself seated on one of the highest points within the camp, a large pillar of wood supporting the main tent with a strong rope connecting it to 3 other such pillows. Looking into the distance Victoria would simply find herself thinking about what she wanted in Life and why she was a Marine, however, a dark truth would behold her instead of the answers she was seeking within herself. She would realize she didn't have any original reason to join the Marines other than the logical reason of what was perceived as right. Taking a deep breath Victoria looks up at the night sky as her breath echoes out of her mouth “Hmm, your such an idiot, a real moron can’t even remember who you are” Victoria would say to herself as she tried to connect with herself.

Marco a marine who normally only interested in bullying the new recruits was taking the entire situation seriously would find himself spotting Victoria “Hey, do you want a drink” he would say with a friendly smile. Turning to look down on Marco, Victoria would simply shake her head with a somewhat fake smile and the first sign that she was starting to wonder within her own mind. “Alright, id check on you in an hour”. As Marco walked off Victoria’s eyebrow would raise as she felt the positivity of a pleasant surprise as Marco, in fact, had an honest bone within him. A faint bittersweet curve would sneak into her smile as she would return to look at the night sky.

Elsewhere the enemy force had also decided to stop to gather some stamina, they wanted to make sure they had enough energy to attack the Marine Barracks once they had traveled across the desert. Most of the soldiers would spend this time stuffing their face, drinking a huge amount of drink and simply enjoying life as the war was on their doorstep, however, they were under the presumption they would be stopping one more time before reaching the enemy. Neither Force would know they were merely hours apart.

David let out a silent sigh of relief, relief for the fact his commanding officer could see reason. If this man was like Rear Admiral Reinhardt and chose to continue pushing forward despite the cost, at which point David might of gone against orders and had the column stop no matter what the commodore ordered. Such actions would be a same, having already disobeyed orders once before another time could of put him into some serious trouble with Marineford. David was not aware on the process in which a marine goes through if they ignore or undermine orders, but he was not very fast to find out such knowledge.

David's hours spent were mostly filled with staying out of the way and watching out for any threats, he volunteered for the duty of watch. His large size, field of view, and his bow capable of out matching most heavy artillery, meant he was the perfect candidate for such a job. Any force that was going to make it past there camp was going to be noticed by David, that much was assured. It was only after knight had fallen that David was moved off watch, and given food and drink for dinner. David did not gorge himself, having a full stomach before a possible battle would only result in cramps and sluggish movements. Alas, sleep did not come easy for the giant. Looking up at the night sky, which had not changed in the fifty years he had been gone from the country, brought back memories he didn't wish to face right now. Instead, David decided to engage in some of his favorite hobbies. Carving wood.

Sadly he only had the half carved block he was carving at the base before they all set out. He took it with him and placed it in the bottom of his quiver for later use. Now he had the time. Yet, even as he made the entirety of the block circular like a large ball, he was feeling to restless. Reaching with one hand, his gauntlets he took off when he laid down to sleep, he would rub his eyelids. Exhaustion with sleep that eluded him was very much being a problem right now. The want to sleep, yet being forced awake because of memories was truly a curse. Looking up to the sky, David would just take it in for a few moments. Enjoying the stars that adorned that endless piece of sky that was no doubt being shown on every island in the grand line. Though something caught David's eye. A lone figure sat on the main support pole. Curious. David was under the impression that most of the marines had gone to sleep already, only the last vestige's of partying were still ongoing. Placing his helmet on his head, David stood and made his way over.

David spared the obvious marine, who was about level with the bottom of his rib cage, on the pole only a glance before turning his attention to the stars where she also took in. David stood there with her for a few moments, arms crossed, and simply took in the night sky. David was silent for the entirety of it. Though he did speak after a minute, he spoke at a whisper. Loud enough for the marine to hear, but not loud enough to wake the camp which his normal voice would of easily done. "If you'll Humor an old fool's question, What do you see in the endless expanse we call the night's sky?" He asked simply. David knew what his friend Nomad would say. 'Possibility of a better world'. It was probably what David would of told Nomad had he asked him. They were of the same mind like that. But he was curious what this marine, who separated herself from others for the time, saw there. Was it something bleak along the lines of the apocalypse? Perhaps she sees the same things as he and Nomad. Or maybe something completely different. It was something David was curious to find out.

Meanwhile in the camp of the enemy its more like a big party. They are really sure of their victory. The soldiers kept drinking until thy were drunk and passed out. They do not know how close the enemy actualy is but this behavior will com e back to haunt them the next day. They think it is going to be a n easy victory and a quick trip back to home. While the night progresses it slowly gets more and more quiet until they are all asleep. Most of them because of the alcohol.

The next day most of them have an headache and struggel to get up on their feet. Their leader does not show mercy and commands his troops to get ready to move. If it is just one day traveling then their current condition does not matter. That is what he was thinking becasue he does not expect the enemy to come to them. Marines usually prefered to hide in their fortress. Without much complaining the troops start to move out.

Meanwhile in the other camp of commadre Roaringson everyone slept without drinking any alcohol. Captain Snotnose made sure to check on this. Scolding marines and emptying the bottles if he found them.Their were a few accidents like that but not much. The marines spedn the night without alcohol and making sure to go to bed in time to be recovered and full of energy the next morning.

The following morning their is a loud trumpet being played. It is captain Snotnose whi is playing the trumpet. To the suprise of some marines Captain Snotnose knows how to play an instrument. Still the loud sounds of the trumpet are an annoying wake up alert. Despite not liking to be woken up by a loud trumpet the marines wake up and start packing. Caphalor, Sinthoras, Xin and Leona help eachother with the tent. They were somewhat lucky as they had more space then the others last night due to no one joining them. Not that it wasa problem at that momentbut an extra hand would have been nice. With the experience of all the excursions during their trainign still fresh in their minds the four of them menage to get rid of the tent.

When everyone is ready Commadre Roaringson tells them to get moving. Being fuly recovered from the fight from the day before start moving. They are moving  further and furthr intot he desert. The two armies get closer and closer to eachother with every step forward. Several hours pass until it is 10 am. The troops grab their lunch to have some food in their stomach. Fightign with an empty stomach is not advised afterall. It does slow them down a little bit non the less. That is because peopel had to grab their food and stopped walking to then get it and eat and drink while walking.

One hour later teh 2 armies finally run into eachother. Captain Snotnose is the first one to notice the enemy. The enemy on the other hand did not notice them yet. That is because we have the sun in our back and because we were not beign haunted by the effects of the alcohol. Captain ROaringson orders everyone to retreat a bit back to the sandhill they just came down from. Both commanders order us to get ready for the upcomming fight. Captain Roaringson wants to use the element of suprise to shrink the number of enemy's quickly. The army is massive and with a look at all the war machines to attack a fortress beign carried by the enemies their is some relief that we did not stay in The Roaring Lion. The marines quickly prepare the cannons with ammo and everything that is needed to fire a cannon. When they are ready they wait for the sign from CaptainSnotnose to push the cannons forward and shoot. Meanwhile the other troops are waiting behind the cannons with Commandre Roaringson to run at the enemy on his sign.
