Travel from Jordsand to Momoiro

Sofia was back on the Dawnbreaker, heading towards Momoiro Island. She had recently gotten a call from one of the nobles that were allied with the nation of Sofia, and apparently they had been molested or something from a politician from there. And they had requested to her to settle the score.

She didn’t enjoy the idea of having to go there and do it, but the rest of the Sofia nobility had insisted for her to do that request, so she was sort of forced to. And she didn’t like that at all either.

Trying to get her head off it, she started to mash some herbs in a mortar, until they were powder, and then even more.

“Yo, I think it’s smooshed enough, no?” Anna Blue asked her from within her head.

“Shut up. I’m working.” Sofia replied. “Medicine needs concentration.”

“Is it about the request you got? From that other noble?” the tiny police insisted.

“Anna. Shut it.” she then barked back, to then continue to work. “Also, get out of there. Aren’t you supposed to be steering the ship or something?”

“Nah.” the Marine replied. “Gruntson is getting the hang of it. I think.”

“Go, Anna. Don’t leave him alone there.” Sofia then nearly commanded.

“Okay, okay. I’m leaving.” the other replied, to then walk towards her ear to then leap out of it and expand in size until she was back to normal again, as she traversed the limit of Sofia’s Castle Dimension, causing a faint red glow to appear around her.

“By the way, isn’t this ship a bit big? We should probably get a smaller and quicker one.” the navigator added.

“Anna. Go.” Sofia hissed back.

“Okay, oookay. Whatever. You’ll tell me later anyways, it’s not good for you to be bottled up like this. I know you’ve got your issues, it’s fine. But you’re carrying me around with you too, you know? It’s not like you’re alone in this and you don’t have to respond to anyone.”

“Anna?”

“Shh. Let me finish.” the tiny girl said. “It’s not only a matter about me either. You’ve also got all of the Gruntsons too. And your dad now, even. What does he think about all of this?”

“He was in favor of it, of course.” Sofia mentioned, as she continued to grind into the mortar, accomplishing nothing with it. The herbs were already dust. “He says he doesn’t want to get involved, but much hasn’t changed apparently.”

“Ah. Not unusual for him.” the Marine then said.

“Now go, seriously.” Sofia stated, as she leaned her head towards her for emphasis. “I’m not saying this to just send you off, you really have to steer this ship. I don’t know if you’re just using this as an excuse to slack off now.”

“Yeah, yeah. I know.” Anna replied, to then start to walk out. “I’ll get on it. I was just curious.”

The doctor-in-training then looked at the mortar, finding the dust she had just made laying in it. She couldn’t make medicine out of this, it was too fine. She sighed, and then dipped it all out into a bin, and put a new handful of herbs into the mortar, to then do the whole process again from the start, but properly this time.

Eventually, Momoiro island started to become visible on the horizon, later at dusk.

“Lady Sofia!” one of the Gruntson brothers then called out to her, as she continued to do work on her medicine inside the ship. She turned her head to check what it was, and rose an eyebrow.

“Yes?” she wondered.

“We’re here! At the island of the gay people!”

Sofia suddenly coughed heavily, surprised by his comment, to then cover her mouth with her fist.

“Don’t call them like that.” she stated. “It’s impolite. Call them by how they want to be called. They had this… term. This name. Uh… Okama. Yes, that was the name. Call them Okamas. Not gays. Please. We’re going to be in the Kamabakka Kingdom as mere visitors, and we have to show respect for their culture.”

“You got it, Lady Sofia.” the Gruntson said, to then turn and hold his hands around his mouth.

“HEY!” he hollered. “DON’T CALL THEM GAYS. CALL THEM OKAMAS, OK?”

The noble slammed her palm into her face.

“Hey, Sofia.” her father then mentioned from inside her head.

“What is it?” Sofia then asked. “Back up from your nap?”

He did sleep an awful lot at times.

“I have to be always ready for combat, my daughter.” he said. “A well-rested man is a prepared man.”

“Anyways, what did you want, Father?” Sofia asked.

“I just wanted to thank you for taking on this request.” he said. “I know it may seem weird, but political relationships like this are important. I’m glad that you’re taking it on.”


The girl then looked to a side. “It’s not like I had a choice, Father.”

“You’ll understand eventually.” he replied. “You can’t survive in this world on dreams alone. You need to treasure your allies too.”
