Ferry bells rungs jubilantly as the commercial vessel came upon the docks of Baltigo. Icarus' eyes took in the entirety of the vice land and his heart thumped with excitement. "Heading out already?" Icarus lazily looked over his right shoulder to see Gold Jackson approaching him. His heavy footsteps thumped on the wooden boards of the ferry and his toothy grin made the youth shake his head and laugh silently to himself.
"I didn't say I was leaving . . . did I?" Icarus said it rather matter of factly just to get on Gold's nerves, but the man he respected as his own father didn't bite the bait. Instead he gave him a firm slap on the back and a hearty laugh like he always did. "You didn't say it with your words. You said it with your body language. What have I been telling you? The way a person's body is poised says a lot about them and their intentions. Keep it in your head." Gold knocked on Icarus' head with his knuckle twice before the youth brushed the hand off. "You always have some old people proverbs to impart on me don't ya?" Icarus had jumped up and onto the railing of the ferry with his hands in his pockets.
"Hey kid! You can't be up there." A security guard that worked the ship began to approach Icarus from the deck and boy simply scoffed at him. "But I'll keep that in mind. I'll start looking for you and the others in lets say, five days?" Icarus looked back over his shoulder at Gold while ignoring the approaching guard. People were already getting off the ship, so he had a flow of traffic to push through before he could reach him. When Icarus looked back at Gold, he saw the man was already shaking his head side to side. "This place is a different beast than others we've been to. I got some business to do and I know you want to get into shenanigans, but we'll be meeting up there." Gold pointed at a large tower with a spire as the tip of it. Icarus followed Gold's finger, then as he withdrew it, theirs eyes met again, Icarus' as lazy as ever and Gold' beaming with ambiguous energy as they always were. "In three days, not five. If I have to come and find you myself, I will."
"Hey! I said get down!" The guard had finally made it through the traffic and was now running at Icarus from not too far away. Icarus looked over his other shoulder to see him approaching before turning back to Gold.
"Well I've got some business to do too, so we'll compromise and say four. Peace." Just as the guard had gotten close enough to reach out for Icarus, the boy jumped out over the waters, then he began soaring through the air with his wings. "You won't like it if I have to come and get you! That's all I'm saying!" Gold shouted at Icarus, but he could see the boy had slipped his earmuffs on and could no longer hear him. Shaking his head, he too went about his way and got off the ferry.
