The bandits closed the door behind them, shutting the group inside. Gil's focus flicked over the gang, assessing everyone's condition. They, along with Jackal, were tired. They had a few bumps and scrapes, but thanks to the the mink and the fishman along with the strange stretchy girl, they had been covered enough so that they didn't have to stay exposed in a life threatening position. He himself had caught a pistol shot graze across his cheek, and a bullet implanted a couple of centimetres in his left thigh thanks to an unlucky ricochet. Otherwise, he was keeping his breathing patterns going, feeling his aerobic energy system kick into high gear.
Gil recalled the water to him, but only for a second. Seeing Jackals slight but clear signals, he pushed the water out around him to completely submerge the room where the group stood. Half a second later, he gripped it between his fingers and pulled in a ripping motion, sucking everyone together in a whirlpool. And then up, he pushed the water, like he was creating a miniature version of the knock-up stream. It twisted over the spikes and up the stairs until they all reached the roof. Everyone inside would feel like they had been taken on an impromptu waterslide, only going upwards instead of downwards. They would all smoothly dropped off on the roof next to the captain, the bandits sitting their for a few seconds while the world stopped spinning. Gil would follow them soon after, propelling himself up and around like a hamster climbing a pipe-run. Afterward, Gil would collect his water again, pressing it against himself once more.
When the ship arrived, he would offer to do the same to get them on board.
