Death

As with all things in life, all journeys must come to an end. Such is the case with death as it pertains to characters that are killed by the hands of another in character. Regardless of if you die via NPC (Non-Player Character) or PC(Player Character) you'll be refunded 50% your Beli in attributes and you can retain up to 50% of your deceased character's Bounty, Prestige, and Doriki.

Though death is natural, we understand the frustration that comes with it and don't take it lightly. Killing a character just for the sake of killing is not something we like to see, thus it is not something we allow. For that reason when it comes to a character falling due to the acts of another player, we the staff will investigate the death and confirm its validity. The major thing we will look for is a solid reason for the killer to have killed the victim in question. This goes beyond personality and overplayed schizophrenia, we will search for an actual reasonable motive. We'd much rather see a growth in plot from a rivalry or grudge developing between characters than potentially lose a member. While defeat will persist, killings deemed "pointless" will usually result in grievous wounds and the victim falling unconscious.


Inheritance of another's Will is a major part of the One Piece world and a reoccurring theme throughout the series and as such, on Strawhats, we have our own system for passing your 'Will' onto someone else. When a character dies, those who have formed a bond/relationship with this character can request to inherit their 'Will'. For example, for Crew's where a Captain perishes, the crew mates or even the Captain's rival can put in a request to inherit his Will. Using this system, a PC can inherit up to 25% of a deceased character's Beli and Doriki prior to looting or reductions. This scenario is not limited to Pirates and applies to all factions. This is only with valid PvP deaths and not death from giving up on characters. It's important to log relationships using our Plot Board as making a claim such as this would be extremely easier as opposed to not having any quickly retrievable evidence whatsoever.

Scrapping

Scrapping is the act of discarding your character without them dying. Scrapping is heavily discouraged and we will track the number of scraps on each account. You may scrap once a month. Missing the AC(activity Check) and loopholing in anyway to avoid the scrapping rules will result in it being considered a scrap.

It is unfair to staff to grade your applications only to have you throw away your character. It is a waste of time, thus there will be penalties. Upon scrapping you lose rights to make reserves and ask for starting slots until your scrap cooldown (1 month) has passed. All of your possessions, beli, Bounty, etc, are erased from your profile. Additionally you must start at the lowest possible rank for your faction from your first scrap onward.
