So, I guess this post is really just to express myself on the way out. I like One Piece and I even like the majority of the system and how things work here.
However, what is really crippling is that like poor choices, especially for new people like myself who don't really know what's going on sort of leave you trapped. If you make a character and find out you really don't like it, you're pretty much utterly stuck because there aren't any second chances here. You take what you take and that's that. Which is pretty intimidating/crippling for your overall fun. Sure, scrapping exists but like the majority of time and effort you've put into a character pretty much goes down the drain and with the rules on Alt Characters, really, there are tons of other things you can be doing with your time.
I mean, the whole point of an RP like this is to have fun / enjoy yourself but if you suddenly find yourself in a spot where you're not enjoying yourself or having fun, well you're pretty much SOL. The fact that there is no real way to change who and what you are on in a Roleplay (which are really all about changing who and what you are) is kind of just exhausting. For me, I sort of came into this just trying to have fun but I created a character I ended up not really enjoying but my choices of what to do about this is pretty much die and lose everything... Which just makes me want to walk away, which is essentially what I'm doing.
I don't really know what to say, I understand the staffs viewpoints about having to approve a new character being a waste of their time and stuff; but I also understand that for a new player, who comes in and ends up just completely losing interest with the RP because they can't stand their character is really painful and makes you just want to go RP elsewhere or not at all.
Well, anyway, that's my two cents.
