バンディットキング - Bandit King

Right and wrong is subjective, isn't it? In that case, it'd rather be wrong as many times as it takes to achieve my ideal of freedom.

All across Baltigo, flyers descended from the sky, each stamped with the seal of the Ninth District's Leader, Miss Ruins. The flyer's content was simple, the woman had been searching for the best thieves throughout Baltigo to gather in one place, The Thieves Den. The woman constructed the building to test her latest state of the art security systems that'd been used in all of her Bunkers across the Ninth. It was a demonstration that Miss Ruins put on to re-ensure her clients that her Bunkers were 100% fool-proof, and even if they weren't the person who'd manage to break into the Den would've been compensated with enough money to retire if need be.

The prize this time around was a Log Book, and it's author was known throughout Baltigo as simply, 'Black List' Cyrus. He'd kept tabs on the Kingpin's activity for years, and sold information to the Marine Core. Through Ursa's help, the man was finally captured, tortured and assassinated. What remained was a Log Book that held the secrets of every Kingpin, and secretly, all of the Nine desired to have it but due to politics, none of them could've openly buy it. The flyer's instruction was simple, turn in the flyer at the Thieves Den's Pop Up Station in the Nil District's Market at the provided stall, and be given the address. However, anyone who signs up must know that placing your hands in this squabble means inviting a world of hell in your future.

Sitting in the slums pub, the Bandit King shrouded in a brown hooded cloaked, ordered several glasses of Milk to help pass the time. Jackal used these kind of low-key off days to gather information without actually having to put in effort, with the Ball coming up, he didn't want to give off any public activity that someone of his Bounty would attract. Among the gossipers, the flyer's scribe came into his possession, a grin shot underneath the man's hood, as the drunks argued about which group of mercenaries would retrieve the prize.

"Shishishi... Maybe I should try my hand at it? It's been awhile since I've done an old school heist." Jackal thought to himself, as he'd sipped his lukewarm milk.

Mashyuu stood in the Skycleaver, stationed in a room he rarely visited, the observation dome at the front of the ship. With the Cleaver ready to disembark at a moment's notice, Mashyuu had a rare chance to look at the fish swimming near the island. His arms were folded behind his back and his cane blade rested on his hip. In the reflection of the glass he could see Jarrett, one of his crew mates running as fast as he could towards the Captain with a flier in his hand, grasping the paper tightly. The Pirate Captain lifted his brow as he turned to face Jarrett with a smile on his face. The Captain lifted his hand out to slow Jarrett down and cleared his throat. "Jarrett, you seem upset. Something wrong?" Mashyuu asked, knowing it had everything to do with the flier in the man's hand. The Pirate grunt held the flier to Mashyuu's hand and stabbed at it with his other. "You gotta... Jesus I ran as fast as I could... you gotta read that boss." Mashyuu chuckled while rolling his eyes and started to scan the flier. The normally calm and relaxed look on his face faded and Mashyuu crumpled the paper and shoved it into his pocket. "Jarrett, help Harley and Sky keep everyone in line. If I don't come back in a few days have everyone pack up and leave. This flier could ruin everything we've been working towards but the book could help us with our future here on Baltigo."

Jarrett nodded his head up and down and saluted the Winged Man. "Aye, you got it Captain. Anything else?" Jarrett asked and Mashyuu simply shook his head as if the man didn't need to do anything else. Silently Mashyuu headed to his room and started to change into the gear he wore when he normally started to rob people. First putting on his black dress pants and belt, quickly followed by his black vest and coat, his white wings slipping out of the cuts in the clothes backs to let him fly. He followed up with the black boots and red gloves. Quickly placing three throwing daggers onto his chest, holding them in place with his magnetic powers. He secured his whip blade to his waist like a belt and slid his sea stone spear on the small of his back where it could rest safely while being pushed in on itself to collapse into something closer to a short sword. He checked his pocket for his white mask and the flier then headed out to start going towards the bar...

バンディットキング - Bandit King

Right and wrong is subjective, isn't it? In that case, it'd rather be wrong as many times as it takes to achieve my ideal of freedom.

Clearing his milk tab, the Mink scuffled into the desolate streets of the slums that'd be ridden with trash, of the animate and non-animate kind. The Nil District market was where the shadiest of deals went down, and if you'd been to this part of town before, you'd know that being there for too long could cause permanent damage to one's mind. However, Jackal blended right in among the hooded figures who'd all been heckling for information or product. Using his Kenbunshoku Haki, he'd scan the area trying to locate the stall where he could've 'registered' for this so called event held by Miss Ruins. "Since my spar with Ursa... It's as if my instincts are much more innate. I can see much further with my Sixth Sense than prior. Shishishi... I guess getting my ass kicked did pay off, in a roundabout way." Jackal thought to himself as he'd traversed the street corner.

Before making it to a definitive destination of course, he'd run into some street gamblers playing a card game called Queen's Castle. Standing on the wooden crate heckling on-comers was none other than Jackal's newest ally on Baltigo, the young merchant by the name of Jake. "Shishishi... I see your still at it." Jackal stated, whispering into the boy's ear before shifting away a few inches. "Jackal!-" Jake exclaimed, the Mink pressing his hand against the boys mouth to muffle his passionate shout. "I'm kind of on the low as is." Jackal shuffled back in quickly to inform the kid. "I thought you would be... Mother has a hit out on your head." Jake stated hopping off the crate. "I've been rallying the men you'll need for your mission but getting them aboard is much harder than expected. Their leader is kind of stubborn." Jake informed pouting. "Shishishi... No problem. I trust you to come through when I'll need it. Besides, I've gotten some new hands recently. Even if that doesn't pan out, I have backup plans for every scenario. What's the game thought, Queen's Castle. Never heard of it." Jackal retorted.

"Ah! It's a local game that's pretty easy to play. If you want me to deal you into the next hand, I can totally do that. With that 'superpower' of yours... I can make a fortune betting on ya." Jake explained, climbing back on top of the crate, and arrange the street side table. At the table, they'd be three seats available, since Jackal was the first one to walk over, it'd only be him and Jake present at the table. The game was simple, 52 Card deck, the dealer shares out six cards to all players present. Every round, each player must place down a number of cards based on the face value that increases three times every round, or two depending on the amount of players. If the suits went from 2 to Ace, including the Joker cards as a bonus card, for three times a round, the player(s) must place down however many cards of that suit they posses. Each round comes with a standing bet, the lowest being 100,000 Beli. At anytime, a player can declare, 'Cheat' or 'Cheater' to the cards placed down by each player in a round. If the players claim is correct, the losing player pick-ups all of the cards currently placed face-down on the table. The player who has the least amount of cards every round wins the pot. The loser keeps their cards into the next round, whereas the 'King' - Winner and the 'Queen', the second place player add their cards face-down for the next round, and draw fresh hands. The pot climbs by times two each round, and goes on until the deck is empty.

Onlookers can choose to play or bet along with the players to declare whose cheating, in order to win a viewers sub-pot. It was an in-genius system that Jake thought up to make quick cash. As Jake explained the rules, Jackal simply interjected with a cackle, "I can put down as many cards of the same face value then?" Jackal inquired. "Yes sir." Jake responded grinning. Grinning, "Deal me in, I got time to kill." Jackal stated, still unable to find the sign up stall for Miss Ruins event as yet. "Anyone else wants to play!?" Jake announced. Jackal would play a few hands before shuffling off towards the registration booth.

Exit.
