The scene opens up with the focal point being on a tall blonde individual walking through the crowd. After turning in his bounty earlier in the day he figured it would be best to make some purchases. Purchases that would increase his ability to defend himself outside of his devil fruit ability. If they weren't on an island he would be at a major disadvantage. Being defenseless would simply not do for him. He needed to be able to carry his own weight outside of the ground should he be in that kind of situation. Also being able to handle weapons would also mislead others on his devil fruit ability. If he engaged normally without his fruit he would have a significant advantage in the element of surprised. However, he knew he would be in the ground majority of engages on land. It didn't hurt to have some form of protection otherwise.
As he walked through the crowd he had a conversation inside of his head. 'What kind of fighter above land would I be? A close range fighter would give him, even more, overwhelming strength. However, fighting from a distance would make fights easier than usual. Technically with his fruit, he fought from a distance due to never really exposing his body unless he was required to. Yet, ballistic weapons were effective against non-fruit users. By that, he thought about guns, granted he wasn't one to kill just because he needed a means of defending himself. Not to mention he could use rubber bullets or riot shells to disable a target from afar. He did have a keen eye, little did he know his father was also a sniper. So it was only natural that his mind drifts towards the usage of ranged weaponry. It was in his genes to want to use this form of fighting. But it did dawn on him, why not have the best of all worlds. Be greedy in this aspect, use ranged weapons in a close ranged fashion, develop a new fighting style that used weaponry as well as his body. Even combining aspects of his fruit into the mix.' He thought.
It wasn't long before Lucas found himself in the shopping district. Small shops lined the sidewalks with all sorts of life passing by. A certain shop caught his eye, Sam's Smithery. He couldn't explain it, but Lucas found himself wandering into the shop. A vast assortment of basic weaponry lined the walls with a counter at the back of the shop. As he entered the door hit the bell on the way in signaling the entrance of a patron. “Hello?” Lucas's voice echoed through the vacant store upon entry. He looked around at the possible paths he could choose.
