Equipment Name: Albatross
Equipment Description: Albatross is a nodachi katana that is shrouded in black thoughts and suggestions of death. It has a blade length of 5ft. The handle itself is 2ft and the decorative guard is a single foot. The blade is a glossy black and rust tinted color. Swordsmen who are unlucky enough to wield the weapon express that the sword constantly speaks to them until they satisfy its blood price. The speaking starts as whispers, then grows louder and louder in the wielder's head until it is quenched. Those who don't feed the blade are said to have committed suicide against their will from insanity. This rumor comes from the fact the weapon is always found in the hand of a corpse.
It starts off with small donations of blood, then eventually escalates to asking for lives, then herds of people. Some wielders have been rumored to massacred whole towns just to quiet the blade. Each day the ritual starts again with the blood price never ceasing to rise. Only those who are the most twisted find themselves compatible with the weapon and able to wield it for long periods of time.
Equipment Capabilities: These bonuses do not pile up to stack, they represent the level of bonus you have in total at each level of relationship with Albatross.
- One Thread of Usage - Albatross asks for 1 Life - +1 Strength if satisfied.
- Two Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for 3 Lives - +1 Strength if satisfied.
- Three Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for 10 Lives - +1 Strength if satisfied.
- Four Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for 25 Lives - +1 Strength if satisfied.
- Five Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for Life of an ally - +2 Strength is satisfied.
- Six Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for 50 Lives - +2 Strength is satisfied.
- Seven Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for 100 Lives - +2 Strength is satisfied.
- Eight Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for the Life of another Ally - +3 Strength is satisfied.
- Nine Threads of Usage - Albatross asks for the Life of another Ally - +3 Strength is satisfied.
- Ten Threads of Usage+ - Albatross asks for 1,000 Lives - +3 Strength is satisfied.
If Albatross is not sated by the end of a thread, it's Strength bonus is lost and the user loses 1 point of Willpower. This stacks every subsequent thread until Albatross is sated per the standards of the Thread count you were on. For example on thread 5 if you fail to offer Albatross an ally, you will lose your strength benefit and lose a stat point in Willpower. Additionally, you cannot gain the strength bonus again or lose the Willpower debuff until you offer Albatross and Ally. To fall to 0 Willpower while having Albatross even in your vicinity is to have the blade drive you to seek it out and commit suicide with it.
If one enters a thread without Albatross, they go through withdrawals that causes them to suffer a loss of 2 points in Willpower for an equal amount of threads they wielded Albatross. Withdrawal stacks with the debuff from not satisfying Albatross until it is sated. The 0 Willpower rule applies to withdrawals as well.
